What an amazing adventure. I love a good market and Priscilla was the best person to follow through Mercado do Bolhao. She was engaging and informative and introduced us to some of the vendors. Then it was back to cook. Each person had an opportunity to do different jobs, culminating with a most delicious meal. I would recommend this to everyone.

The chef led tour was a perfect activity for our midday activity on our first day in Porto. Walking through the market gave us a taste of the local flavor, and we had an entertaining and fun time creating our meal enjoyed with local wine. It was perfect for our small party of three friends.

Gemma was welcoming and kind. We were able to see the market on another level - chatting with vendors and being offered tastings. The cooking was fun and easy. Anyone can do it as the chef explained all cooking related tasks simply. The end results were delicious. A fun and memorable experience for us all.

Priscilla helped us get acquainted with Porto and setup our kitchen for the week. If you were hoping to bring stuff home, now’s your chance. Food we made was simple but tasty. We ended up taking home quite a bit so come hungry.

What a fun experience with Mackensie!! We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the market, especially the spice shop. We made six dishes- clams and garlic, octopus salad with chickpeas, cod fritters, runner green bean tempura, chorizo and lemon crema dessert. Good instruction and conversation throughout. Tried some Port wines as well. Delicious food and comfortable kitchen environment.

Amazing! We loved the market tour which included several tastings including olive oil and oysters and smelling spices. We also did a mini tour of the pateis da nata bakery. Mackenzie and Mia were so knowledgeable and made the tour fun and informative. The cooking class included 6 different dishes including wine tasting. Everything was explained very well and the food was incredible.

This was a great cooking class and the market tour was so fun! We sampled olive oil, oysters, and more at the market and visits to some interesting vendors. All participants had multiple hands on preparation for our wonderful meal.

A fabulous day & meal!

This experience was great fun! We started with a market tour with stops including tasting oysters, smelling local spices and sampling olive oils. We then walked to a well equipped and lovely kitchen to cook and enjoy the company of our fellow participants. We each got to prepare different aspects of our meal which included tempura green beans, octopus salad, codfish fritters, clams, and custard for dessert! Rita was knowledgeable and a sweetheart.

My wife and I enjoyed it experience of cooking with Priscilla. She made the excursion fun with her contagious laugh and constant smile. Her knowledge and relationships with others in the Bolhão Market made our visit that much more enjoyable. As a sidenote, we revisited many of the vendors and purchased many of their items after our class. We had fun cooking while learning more about Portuguese cooking. My wife, in particular, enjoyed the class. I never cook and she always cooks, so she thoroughly enjoyed making fun of me while enjoying my company in the kitchen. It was a great couples activity for my wife.😀

A Must Do in Porto!

We had the best time with Gemny! First she took us through the market and we got to taste olive oil, smell spices, and try fresh oysters. Following this, we prepared different Portuguese dishes and learned how to cook them. After we got to enjoy! It was a blast and I definitely recommend to all. Rainy day in Porto saved by cooking class!

Emmy was great - friendly and knowledgeable. We took a short tour of the Mercado which was fun and we got to meet some vendors. We then walked to a cute little hotel where the cooking class was held. The class was a nice hands on experience in cooking Portuguese dishes. The dishes were tasty and easy enough to do at home. Definitely recommend!!
