Fantastic Experience

Pompeii was incredible (as expected), but the lunch and wine tasting exceeded our expectations! I chose this tour partly because it visited Pompeii in the morning. Pompeii is HOT in August, and I wanted to visit before the heat of the day. It was very warm but bearable. Two hours is just enough to familiarize yourself with the massive site and scratch the surface of what's there - I would love to return and spend longer when it's cooler, but it was fine for this visit. Our tour guide was opinionated but very knowledgable, and we learned a ton about the history of the city. The winery we visited was perfect - outdoor seating with views of Mt. Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples, surrounded by vineyards. And then the wine and food - I expected them to be good, but my expectations weren't high enough! We enjoyed five wine tastings along with bread, charcuterie, and pasta, and the food was every bit as good as the wine. Honestly, I felt that the visit to the winery was as memorable as Pompeii, and I'm so glad we chose this tour!
