This tour through the off road parts of Moab was the perfect balance for my husband, who is kind of cautious, and myself who is a dare devil. Ryka was the perfect guide! So knowledgeable and so much fun!! It was truly amazing g to be in the Jeep and climb straight upward on rocks & cliffs for the most incredible views of Moab, that you could never get on foot! Then heading back down, straight down was so exciting! I highly recommend this tour to anyone, and would do it again in a heartbeat! Just Do It!!!

Wow! What a unique and fun experience! Our kids (11 & 13) had a blast with this while we somewhat nervously sat in the back. Although the driving was extreme, we knew we were in great hands from the start. Rika was a wonderful driver and host. The terrain and sunset were spectacular. My kids would have gladly gone on the same ride every night we were in Moab.

It’s off road and the jeep is going up steep inclines and on very rocky terrain. It’s adventurous if you’re not used to things like that. But I felt very safe.

We were picked up by our host Rika and taken to the trail ahead. I was thrilled to see that our driver was a woman!!!! Rika took the time to get to know us and our expectations including any fears and concerns. She planned an exciting ride through the rocks. She provided a wealth of information about the vehicle, history and scenery. I was never once concerned about safety, she was extremely caring and funny! She stopped when ever we wanted to and continued to entertain us with stories of all sorts. It was like driving somewhere with a friend and when it was done it seemed like we knew her very well. The scenery was just amazing! This tour will fill your soul in ways you can’t imagine. You will literally feel like you conquered the mountain. I will never forget this experience for many years and highly recommend this tour and the company, especially Rika! Thank you!!!

Put this at the top of your “to do” list in Moab. We just finished running the Slickrock area with our ultra capable and engaging tour guide, Rika. If you’ve never owned a jeep but wanted to experience it then this is the place. The “air conditioned” jeep was very new looking and clean…..till we got it a little muddy as a storm had washed through the day before. Rika performed several technical moves with her jeep that we didn’t think were possible. At several points along the trail I thought we’d have to turn left or right but we went up and over. She let us choose the level of comfort but honestly it was exciting from the start. We did the 3 hour tour and it was the perfect. Plenty of time to get in another activity. We felt lucky to have chosen this company and would recommend to anyone. They did have great reviews too.

Our guide, Rika, was amazing! We were an all female group and Rika delivered with humor and challenge! She was incredibly knowledgeable and really cared that we got the level of experience and adventure we were looking for! Slick Rock is beautiful and the 8 am tour was perfect before the crowds arrived in the park!

Rika and the crew at Portal were absolutely AMAZING! This was the perfect combination of scenic views, exhilarating off-roading, and learning about the amazing features at Moab. Rika is an absolute master of her machine, she made the trip super exiting and thrilling without ever feeling out of control. The Jeep was amazingly capable and very modified but still has ac!! I’d recommend Portal to anyone looking for a super fun, exciting, affordable outing while in Moab.

Guide was super knowledgeable, a great driver, and very personable. Jeep was newer and very comfortable even through the really rough sections. Overall a great experience to go off roading and see Moab from a high vantage point.

She was not only incredibly skilled behind the wheel but also full of fascinating insights about the area's geology, history, and wildlife. Her passion for the desert landscape really made the trip special.
The tour itself was an exhilarating mix of off-road thrills and jaw-dropping scenery. The jeep handled every rocky climb and steep descent with ease. But the highlight of the day? Hands down, the sunset view. Watching the sun dip behind the red rock formations, casting golden light across the canyons, was pure magic. It’s a moment I’ll never forget.

Jason and Rika were excellent hosts, and were very good about communicating with us prior to arriving in Moab. Jason took us through the Hell’s Revenge trail, with stops throughout. We saw amazing scenery, petrified dinosaur tracks, and watched some pretty daring off road challenges. The ride is actually pretty comfortable considering the terrain, but if you’re especially prone to motion sickness or fearful of heights you probably have no business in Moab anyway.
Well worth the cost, a great way to experience world famous off-roading while in Moab.

Best of the best drivers! We went into this knowing nothing about off roading & what to expect. These guides are very professional & have been doing this a long time & it shows! This was the highlight of the trip for my teenagers. There was 4 of us & they divided us into 2 jeeps which made it even more fun watching each other do the passes. If you’re looking for a private tour for just your family you can’t go wrong this Company.

I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect or how my 9 year old would react, but our driver Rika put us at ease. My son absolutely LOVED the ride, declaring it the “most fun ever” and squealing and egging me on to put my hands up in the air as we went down the hills. 10/10 would absolutely recommend Portal Off-road Tours company!!

This was a blast! We had a lot of fun climbing the trails and seeing the landscape. The dinosaur tracks were cool and seeing sunset there was great. Our driver was very cool and knowledgeable. He was fun to listen to. This was a great experience and we look forward to working with them when we return. We look forward to going in another trail with them soon.

This was our favorite part of visiting Moab. We were picked up promptly from the hotel and enjoyed our scenic trip through Hell’s Revenge. The jeep was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend!!
