The London Dungeon stages London's grimmer history as a walk-through experience, with actors and theatrical sets across each section. Book online to choose an entry time, since door tickets are assigned to the next available slot, which can run much later in the day.
Inside, actors reenact episodes from the city's past, among them Jack the Ripper's crimes in Whitechapel and the story of Sweeney Todd, the barber of Fleet Street. The route moves through staged scenes and special effects covering the plague, a ride through Traitors' Gate, the Great Fire of 1666, and a simulated 18th-century trial. The full list of attractions appears in the itinerary and is subject to change.

Very fun theatrical experience. I think it might be scary for small children. Also, it’s very dark. I understand why but truly there are parts where you’re moving through the exhibits that having some foot lighting would be helpful. I loved the gift shop at the end but I didn’t know I couldn’t go back later to buy gifts. I wasn’t ready to carry things so I didn’t buy the things I wanted and now it’s too late.
Good experience to tick off whilst in London. Amusing couple of hours and actors really good. Good value too
Amazing actors who really got into character. We learnt a lot about the gory history of London. Might not be suitable for very young children. Highly recommended.
Great fun and very entertaining, maybe not for those of nervous disposition. There were young children in there and they seemed to enjoy it.
It was a fantastic experience that I compare to a trip to universal studios Halloween horror nights, level of commitment to the acting and fun of the skits throughout.
Not suitable for younger children. Some parts could be scary for some adults even, but very enjoyable and worth the cost.
I think I had a satisfactory experience. I like the odd sensory touches, could do with a bit more of those.
It’s not like the structure of the Tooley street one that includes wax works or scenes, as well as a few actors to enhance the experience even more. It’s totally dominated by actors playing various parts/characters. It feels like a lot was missing. I would say go and visit if you don’t mind that each room you enter has an actor portraying a character or describing what happened during that time, of course the setting is decorated by the period. If you have never been to Tooley street, then yes, you might enjoy the experience, but then again, you might want more…
This is the second time we’ve visited the Dungeon, and it never disappoints. The actors are brilliant, and the scenery is incredibly realistic. Even the scents in some areas add an extra layer to the experience, making the performance even more immersive.
Really enjoyed the experience. Interesting that nurses killed in the black plague. Sweeney Todd was a cool time
What a fun time. We loved the little jump scares. The actors take real pride in their work and it shows.
This was so much fun! I highly recommend taking this tour! The actors did a fantastic job and really made the experience 10 times better than expected!
You could tell they put a lot of effort into this. You do get a feel for a lot of the torture that took place back in the day.
Lived this it was awesome. Longer than expected. Pictures came out great!!! The actors did a really good impression and the location was a huge plus next to the eye.
Brilliant experience! Really immersive and so much fun! Highly recommend it! Don’t be afraid to get involved!
Also had a cocktail in the tavern!
Really fun experience. Thought it was more of a historically focused experience but it’s more like a haunted house. They take you through different events and try to recreate the experiences that you could have possibly dealt with at the time. So much fun though!
It was really fun. We are from the States and learned several things about London. The actors were awesome and very life like.
A lot of fun! The actors all did a great job making things rather scary at times but not in a bad way.
Really good fun and interesting. A bit jumpy and some surprises. All actors were brilliant. Advice not to go on your own. You may need an arm of hand to hold.
Fun with some interactions. Brings the ideas to life. Glad we added it to our list to do. Loved the torture room and tools
Was fun, and a great way to learn history around London for tourists. I enjoyed it. The lady at the very beginning to start the tour was fantastic
Kinda cheesy and touristy. More performative than historically accurate. Would still recommend as it was entertaining.
Very immersive experience. The staff does a great job of including the spectators in the event. The atmosphere was excellent. Worth making the time for if you are in the area.
Great theatrical experience - not for young kids though… interesting facts about historical London!!
Having never done it, I had no idea what to expect. I’m a proper scaredy cat in real life so was terrified going around but actually it was lots of fun! Highly recommend but if you are taking children, it’s quite gruesome in places.
I did enjoy parts of it, I never knew how dark that type of history is, I won’t recommend it to those who get scared easily or those with sight issues, they make it very dark and hard to see just to scare you
Really enjoyed it! All the actors were excellent, very well done and atmospheric. Well worth a visit!
I have been multiple times and still enjoy it. An interactive fun way to learn some history. Took a friend who hasn't been before and she loved it
This is a fun informative and scary experience. It engages with the public, definitely not for those with a nervous disposition but great fun . It includes a ride and if you go for the scream and spirit package you also great a great cocktails or mocktail of your choice as well as you reflect on the terror and fun x
Great service, the actors were all amazing and the interactions in each scenario was great! You can tell there was alot of work put into the building of each scene.
Very entertaining activity. We didn't originally planned for this but my 11 year old son's friend told him about it. Very happy and glad we did it. Kids had a lot of fun.
