This is the second time we’ve visited the Dungeon, and it never disappoints. The actors are brilliant, and the scenery is incredibly realistic. Even the scents in some areas add an extra layer to the experience, making the performance even more immersive.

What To Expect

The London Dungeon stages London's grimmer history as a walk-through experience, with actors and theatrical sets across each section. Book online to choose an entry time, since door tickets are assigned to the next available slot, which can run much later in the day.

Inside, actors reenact episodes from the city's past, among them Jack the Ripper's crimes in Whitechapel and the story of Sweeney Todd, the barber of Fleet Street. The route moves through staged scenes and special effects covering the plague, a ride through Traitors' Gate, the Great Fire of 1666, and a simulated 18th-century trial. The full list of attractions appears in the itinerary and is subject to change.

A bloody good effort, but it lost it’s edge

Simone_D, Jul 2026
I think I had a satisfactory experience. I like the odd sensory touches, could do with a bit more of those. It’s not like the structure of the Tooley street one that includes wax works or scenes, as well as a few actors to enhance the experience even more. It’s totally dominated by actors playing various parts/characters. It feels like a lot was missing. I would say go and visit if you don’t mind that each room you enter has an actor portraying a character or describing what happened during that time, of course the setting is decorated by the period. If you have never been to Tooley street, then yes, you might enjoy the experience, but then again, you might want more…

Wonderful experience

You could tell they put a lot of effort into this. You do get a feel for a lot of the torture that took place back in the day.

Really fun experience....

Matthew_M, Jun 2026
Really fun experience. Thought it was more of a historically focused experience but it’s more like a haunted house. They take you through different events and try to recreate the experiences that you could have possibly dealt with at the time. So much fun though!

Kinda cheesy and touristy. More performative than historically accurate. Would still recommend as it was entertaining.

Kenneth_B, Apr 2026
Very immersive experience. The staff does a great job of including the spectators in the event. The atmosphere was excellent. Worth making the time for if you are in the area.

Well worth a visit!

Mirilene_F, Mar 2026
Great theatrical experience - not for young kids though… interesting facts about historical London!!

Lots of fun

Shelley_J, Mar 2026
Having never done it, I had no idea what to expect. I’m a proper scaredy cat in real life so was terrified going around but actually it was lots of fun! Highly recommend but if you are taking children, it’s quite gruesome in places.

Scary stuff

Finlay_S, Feb 2026
I did enjoy parts of it, I never knew how dark that type of history is, I won’t recommend it to those who get scared easily or those with sight issues, they make it very dark and hard to see just to scare you

Excellent experience

LISA_H, Feb 2026
Really enjoyed it! All the actors were excellent, very well done and atmospheric. Well worth a visit!

Intetactive fun way to learn some history

Philippa_D, Dec 2025
I have been multiple times and still enjoy it. An interactive fun way to learn some history. Took a friend who hasn't been before and she loved it

Definitely recommend a great experience

Sarah_R, Dec 2025
This is a fun informative and scary experience. It engages with the public, definitely not for those with a nervous disposition but great fun . It includes a ride and if you go for the scream and spirit package you also great a great cocktails or mocktail of your choice as well as you reflect on the terror and fun x

Great walk through of the bloody London history that isn't Royal related

Liesel_W, Nov 2025
Great service, the actors were all amazing and the interactions in each scenario was great! You can tell there was alot of work put into the building of each scene.

Very entertaining...

Chintan_P, Nov 2025
Very entertaining activity. We didn't originally planned for this but my 11 year old son's friend told him about it. Very happy and glad we did it. Kids had a lot of fun.

not for under 12

felicity_h, Nov 2025
the tour is well organised and well run, it is spoilt because its up to the parents discretion to allow young children. They were scared and ruined the experience

It wasn't much different...

Maxine_G, Nov 2025
It wasn't much different to last time I went which was years ago needs to be a few surprises lurking and more scary , spent x lot of time in the pitch black

Excellent Value

Martin_C, Nov 2025
A Great Event and Entertainment. So realistic and informative about the time and what happens. Not to be missed

Exciting and thrilling

Madonna_O, Oct 2025
Interactive and exciting with theatrical entertainment with historical facts. Walk through ends with a short but thrilling ride.

Entertaining Way to Learn History of London

Daniel_M, Oct 2025
Nice animated way to learn about London history. The audience is taken through various historical events with scenes and character actors to show what happened to people who lived during that time.
