Very well organised tour. Good choice of taking a helicopter tour (highly recommended). On time departure & arrival. The crew onboard were awesome. I would strongly recommend this tour for Grand Canyon. Thank you very much.

We were in great hands with our guide/driver Rod. It was a great experience seeing the beautiful Grand Canyon!

Hello Frances,
Merry Christmas!
Thank you for leaving Gray Line such a nice 5-star review. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your day with us and our driver/guide Rod. Since 1910 the Gray Line family of nearly 200 worldwide sightseeing companies have been seeking out the best guides in every destination we serve, so it's nice to know our guide did such a great job and had great suggestions.

Gray line tours pass me to another tour group, maybe because its not enough number of people joining my chosen tour or that tour is full.. But i appreciate it because we had a great time, our tour guide and driver are amazing. Thank u also to gray line for making sure that we are informed of the changes and for making sure the tour will push thru.

Tour guide Prince , Prince, was very good. Provided great information all along the way. However, the time at the visitor center was too long and cut into the actual time in the canyon.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Dear Debra_R,
Thank you for having chosen Gray Line for your Grand Canyon experience and we are sorry if any part of the tour timing missed your expectations.
The timing of all stops is based upon feedback we have received over 40 years of taking Las Vegas travelers to see the spectacular views mother nature has provided at the Grand Canyon National Park.
In closing, I want to thank you for providing us with useful feedback, and I want to wish you all the best in your future travel experiences.
Sincerely,

Less than 2 hours at the canyon. Was very long day--almost 14 hours. The driver was excellent but the bus was in very poor condition
Response from Host, Sep 2025
Dear Harold,
Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and we are sorry for missing your Grand Canyon sightseeing expectations. We are especially sorry if you found our coach to be wanting. The coaches we use are maintained to the highest industry standards yet the extreme temperatures of the American West can take a toll on even the best maintained equipment.
We do appreciate the kind words you had for our driver/guides.
Regarding the excursion, there is no getting around that a day trip to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon makes for a really long day as it is over 570 miles round trip from Las Vegas, which is the closest large city to the South Rim & the National Park.
A day trip to the Grand Canyon National Park from Las Vegas is never meant to be an immersive experience, it is intended to give travelers a taste of the magnificence of the Canyon. For those wishing a more immersive experience, a multi-day trip is what is really needed.
Our company has been taking guests on day trips to the Grand Canyon for well over 40 years and our itinerary has been developed based on feedback from our guests over that time.
In closing, I want you to know we appreciate your feedback and we wish you all the best in your future travel experiences.
Sincerely,
Lourdes_T, Sep 2025
If you’re not that familiar with booking bus tours please note that being on time is important!! Unless local traffic prevents it the drivers are on time!! I was expecting a better transportation vehicle, the bus had broken leather pieces on the top of the seats but they were very comfortable. Our guide MIKE was fenomenal, very well familiar with the history and other information and at the same time gave us time to relax and enjoy the views. He has all very well planed and was always very attentive to recognize his passengers and make sure no one got lost or injured by given us certain advises. The meal was very good, with variety and big portions. This trip from Las Vegas Strip is long!! But worth it! If you don’t enjoy the road trips please do the West Rim which tours are also offered by Viator.

t rip was cancelled the day before we where scheduled to leave by company, was offered a upgrade to the rim but that was actually cheaper. highly disappointed. that was supposed to be the high light of my trip to Vegas very disappointed with this company.$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Response from Host, May 2025
Dear john_a,
Thank you for having chosen Gray Line for your Grand Canyon experience, and on behalf of everyone here at Gray Line Las Vegas I would like to offer our sincere apologies for the trip cancellation.
At Gray Line we do understand the disappointment that guests experience when an anticipated excursion is cancelled, which is why over the course of any given year less than 1 percent of all of our scheduled tours are cancelled.
When a tour is cancelled, it is usually the result of an unscheduled maintenance issue with the coach that was assigned for that tour. Safety is always Gray Line's number 1 concern, yet we are sorry that this affected your holiday.
In closing, I want to once again apologize, and wish you all the best in your future travel experiences.
Sincerely,

Over our trip to the South Rim. The Grand Canyon is spectacular!
However Bus arrived 20 minutes late for our scheduled pick up time.
Assigned seating was a great idea!
Audio on left side of bus in back did not work and guide spoke way to fast. Prince our guide was extremely militaristic. I haven’t been given orders like that since my boot camp!
Bus number 1856 Greyline.
1139 arrived at centre video was 45 minutes long. No time for gift shopping at all!
Bus was to leave at 1235.
If they had been on time to pick us up we would have had more time for lunch. Everything was far too rushed.
The same at every stop. Very little time due to Prince.
His favourite saying which he repeated CONSTANTLY was “don’t be that guy”. Funny he was in the morning as our bus showed up almost 30 minutes late!
All and all the trip was nice, but I wouldn’t use this company again!
Response from Host, Mar 2025
Dear Jeffrey,
Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and we are sorry for missing your expectations.
When you work around the busiest tourism corridor in the world occasional delays come with the territory and are usually the result of heavier than normal traffic, unscheduled road works, or difficulty locating guests at a previous pickup point. We are sorry that this affected your day.
Even with a late pickup time, this does not affect the time allocated at each designated stop. The times we spend at stops have been determined by feedback we have received from guests over the 40+ years we have been taking travelers to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. We do apologize if you felt rushed.
Finally, I would like to say that Prince is one of our most popular staff members and for those that want to read back through the posts here on Viator they will find that his reviews are consistently in the 5 star range.
In closing, I want to once again apologize for missing your sightseeing expectations, and I want to wish you all the best in your future travels.
Sincerely,
Michael S. / GL Vegas Customer Service

Tour was cancelled the day before. I received a text cancelling the tour. When i called the tour bus company they tried to offer me a different tour. Since I opted not to take a different one I have to wait for a refund of my payment which would take at least 7 business days. I am still waiting to get a confirmation regarding my refund
Response from Host, Feb 2025
Dear Hazel_L,
Thank you for having chosen Gray Line and we are sorry that your tour was cancelled. At Gray Line we are well aware of disappointments that happens when it is necessary to cancel a sightseeing experience, which is why over the course of a year less than 1 percent of our scheduled tours are cancelled, and this only happens due to an operational imperative.
We would also like to take this opportunity to explain why the refund will take approximately 1 week- it is simply due to the fact that in modern distribution channels there are multiple vendors involved such as banks and booking web sites. This works in both directions as we do not receive payment immediately when someone books on a third part website, so when we issue a refund it goes back through the same system and that just can take a few day.
In closing, I want to again apologize for having to cancel your tour, and I want to wish you all the best in your future travel experiences.
Sincerely,
Michael S. / GL Customer Service

I booked a different tour to the south rim and was informed the night before that it was cancelled and I was rebooked on this tour. I had a good time and my husband enjoyed it as this was a birthday gift for him. The operator Terrance was nice enough. Some of his jokes didn’t land but it was a good experience.

We had great experience overall. Tour guide Taka was fantastic. He was always smiling and gave very useful information. Driver Carlos was again very good. Both were cordial which made our journey interesting. For a tour which is about 15/16 hours, we never felt the strain of long tour. Highly recommend going to South Rim for viewing Grand Canyon.

We booked this tour through Viator and Gray Line was the transport/tour guide. We had the optional hummer package added to our tour in hopes that we would see more than just tourists sites. We didn't. The hummer driver was very knowledgeable, but the whole "optional upgrade" seemed rushed. I was nervous the whole time thinking we would miss our rendezvous with the tour bus -- and the tour guide made it very clear he would leave us if we were late. Overall I felt like this tour wasn't worth the money and I felt extremely agitated when our tour guide decided that we needed to stop at a local establishment to use the ATM machine for the tip before we got back to our destination. I would not book this tour again.

Dennis_L, Aug 2024
Beware of Prince! He is the worse tour guide you will ever meet. He treated our tour like we were on a bus headed for boot camp because of his military back ground. VERY RUDE, pushy and constantly begging for tips and threatening to leave anyone behind that was not on the bus when he was ready to leave. Always honking the bus horn and screaming on his megaphone and sounding the siren. He would tell stories of his military experiences that were very inappropriate and graphic about people getting killed, blown up and shot at instead of useful information related to the tour. The tour itself was very nice but the tour guide is not in the right line of work for his attitude and personality. The bus was clean and comfortable. My advice to Price would be to be nicer to your patrons and lay off the military style attitude then you wouldn’t have to beg so hard for gratuity. This is a long trip with over 12 hours of travel for less than 2 hours at the Grand Canyon. I would do it again if we had a different tour guide.
Response from Host, Aug 2024
Dear Dennis_L,
Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and leaving us very useful feedback.
We are surprised by your experience with our guide Prince as he normally get very nice reviews. That said, for over 100 years great customer service has been one of the two pillars of guest experience at Gray Line (the other is safety), so we are taking your comments very seriously. We will be subjecting Prince to both additional customer service training and a lot more supervision. We will make sure future guests do not mirror your experiences.
In closing, I want to once again thank you for your feedback and I want to wish you all the best in your future travels.

We got picked up by Duane over at the Horseshoe and the adventure began. From the jump he was full of stories and jokes. The bus was full but comfortable. About an hour before our first restroom stop. The views from the south rim were amazing. The folks at the visitors centers are friendly and cordial but the highlight is definitely Duane our driver. He is semi - retired though and only training new drivers so you might now get him on your tour but have fun!!!!

My mom and I really enjoyed this trip! It was all day long. We watched a short film, had a yummy lunch, saw the Grand Canyon, and drove through gorgeous scenery on the way there. Our tour guide Prince and our bus driver Brando were the best!! Prince was very enthusiastic with this tour which made it much better. Brando was a great driver and made our drive feel calm and safe. We were very happy with our day trip to the Grand Canyon as our first visit. Thank you Viator and our whole tour group for making this trip so fun!!!

1. Willy the driver was great and took care of us well.
2. Greyline should plan better for emergencies. Pick up was delayed by 1.5 hours due to a flat tire on another tour. Greyline should plan have planned for this as it affected our tour (hours spend in the national park)
3. Communication from management to customers can do a lot better. I booked the south rim grand canyon tour but was offered a refund or a change of tour to the west rim in which i chose the latter. The operator did not email me the change in pick up location.
Response from Host, Jul 2024
Dear Ben_C,
Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and we are sorry for missing your Grand Canyon sightseeing expectations.
We would like to apologize again for the late pickup, which as you mentioned was due to an unexpected issue with the coach originally scheduled for your tour, and that took a bit of time to sort out.
We are also sorry for not communicating with you better, and you can rest assured that we will be working to improve our guest communications going forward.
Finally, we are happy that you enjoyed our driver Willy, and that he took great care of you.

Frances_T, Jun 2024
Our tour was Thursday June 6
Our pick up time was 615 at the Mirage. At 6 the bus showed up. I was just going to get coffee at Starbucks because it just opened. The other person at our stop for pick up was not there yet. Prince the grayline guide said no he was not waiting so I got on the bus. The day continued in this manner with prince barking orders like we were all in bootcamp. He said we would return to vegas at 915 to 930. We returned at 815 one hour early which was fine but it was at our expense as we were rushed and reprimanded all day. He said he would give us a precise time to be on the bus and if we were not the entire bus would join him in reprimanding us. He was visibly angry at one hotel when the people were not there on time. At each hotel pick up between 6 and 7 am he loudly blew the bus horn and yelled for the people joining us. At one point 3 Philippine women were talking in there language. He turned to them and asked them if they had earphones. He said they needed them and they coild buy them at The next stop What? . They were talking to each other. I very much appreciate his military service, 2 deployments to Afghanistan, jumping from airplanes and getting shot at and saving his friend when he was blown up . I am grateful for his service however I did not pay almost 1000 for my family and I to go on this tour to be in bootcamp. We were on a tour we paid for not in the military. We were there to enjoy ourselves not be excessively rushed and yelled at. On two occasions in restaurants he came in yelling at everyone to get in the bus. At a truck stop he blew the horn excessively because 2 of the group were not on the bus. He did not say anything about how my hummer tour would work. When I asked he said he would make an announcement but he did not. When we got to the grand canyon he introduced me to the person from.the hummer place.and said she would tell me everything I needed to know which she did. Why did I have to wait and wonder what was going on for 4 hours? Why didn't he just tell me what would happen so I knew. The hummer company and hummer tour and tour guide were EXCELLENT. I am so happy that I chose the hummer tour especially because it gave us less time with Prince as our guide. While we were on the hummer tour our hummer guide told us that Prince was already calling asking if he could get us back early. There were 12 people on the hummer tour. Not only was Prince rushing us he was rushing the other people on the tour who were not from gray line tour. Our guide got us there early hoping we could enjoy the last stop for a bit because it was part of our tour. We were dropped off early. We went to the rest room. Within 5 min Prince was calling my phone to tell me to get on the bus. This stop had alot of buildings, history, gift shop etc... this should have been part of our tour but was not. When I got on the bus Prince asked how our hummer four was. I said it was great but we did not have time at this stop because he was picking us up early. He said that I had a much better tour on the hummer tour today then any of the other people on the bus tour had today. What? Isn't it his job to make sure everyone on the bus had a great tour? On the way back we drove for 3 hours before stopping and then stopped twice 20 min apart. We stopped at McDonald's for dinner. My son and I are vegetarian. McDonald's doesn't have anything for vegetarians. He said there were other restaurants we could walk to. It was 100 degrees. The restaurants were not right next door and
Precise instructions that we were to get right back on the bus and eat on the bus. If we were an hour early why did we have to eat on the bus? If we had time to stop again in 20.min why couldn't we stop and eat our food. Not once but 4 times he instructed us that each person om the bus should give a $20 dollar tip to him and the deiver. There were 3 of us in my group. If each if us gave 20 to him and the driver we would tip $120. That's ridiculous. I paid over 800 for this tour to be rushed, yelled at and forced to give more money in Tips. He said he would be standing at the foot of the bus steps and acting as the tip jar when we got off! Intimidation is not appropriate. I read several other similar complaints about Prince and yet he is still working for your Grayline. He is still behaving the same as others described. I read the response that the. Behavior of requesting and requiring tips was corrected but it is not corrected. It continued today. Again, i very much appreciate his military service however, he is not cut out to be a tour guide. I'd appreciate some restitution for my experience please. Thank you
It was myself my husband snd my 27yr old son on the tour
The review asked who was with. It will not let me add the accurate info

Our driver/tour guide Mike was very informative. The trip was great from Las Vegas.the stops for lunch and dinner were too short.27 people were on our bus and it was hard to get your food and eat and be back on the bus in the allotted time.

The Grand Canyon was great however, the bus ride was scary and bumpy. Prince was our tour guide and was very helpful. This tour is touted as wheelchair accessible and said that we would need to help the disabled person onto the bus. We were NOT told that there would be about 7 steep steps. My son-in-law fell backwards helping my husband off the bus and my husband fell on top of him. My husband had wanted to stay on the bus but we were told he could not. Some of the roads were so bumpy that caused unbearable pain to my husband..

The driver was about 40 minutes so shortened the time at the Rim. The meal arrangements were not well explained and a definite disappoint. It is a long trip with little information shared.

Dear Josephine,
Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and we are sorry for missing your Grand Canyon sightseeing expectations.
We are sorry about the late pickup, however when you work around the busiest tourism corridor in the world occasionally delays due occur- usually the result of unscheduled road works, heavier than normal morning traffic, or difficulty finding guests at a previous pickup point. This does not affect the time spent at the Grand Canyon. We are sorry that this affected your morning.
Sincerely,
Michael S. / GL Customer Service

I’m not at all happy with Viator service. These guys booked for south rim and ended up sending me to west. I got the call that due to technical issue they cancelled it and offered me west with upgrade option. But then too they did not offer sky walk
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Dear Ramava,
Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and on behalf of everyone at Gray Line I want to apologize for the necessity to cancel your South Rim Grand Canyon excursion and offer you a trip to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon instead.
The South Rim cancellation was due to an operational imperative. Operational Imperatives is a catch-all phrase that can encompass many concerns that can include sustainability, mechanical and staffing issues. We are sorry that this impacted your experience.
In the event we need to cancel a tour, we always give our guests the option of either a full refund, reschedule to another date, or a different tour of greater value at no additional charge. Anyone visiting our website will see that a West Rim tour is substantially more expensive than a South Rim tour.
In closing, I want to once again apologize for the inconvenience, and I want to wish you all the best in your future travels.
Sincerely,
Michael S. / GL Vegas Customer Service.

The Grand Canyon is not to be missed. The bus was clean and comfortable. The guide was quite capable of reading facts to us, even if it lacked a certain something. The thing that prevented a 5 star review was the incessant pandering for tips, to the extent of telling us the minimum expected and suggesting they should get more. This is unacceptable in my opinion. In speaking to some guests from another country, the demands made them very uncomfortable. Prince was personable, and Patrick a good and quiet driver, but if this isn't company policy it should be stopped. They also seem to have a pretty sweet deal going with the location of the double rest stop. Pushing for clients to buy from them under the guise of doing them a favor, while accepting kickbacks isn't that admirable either.

Dear Tina_H,

To being, on behalf of everyone at Gray Line I want to apologize for the pandering of tips by our driver/guide Prince. We have a strict policy against this type of behavior. Seeing the Grand Canyon was an amazing experience. The roads in Arizona were very bumpy which wasn’t the most comfortable on a small bus but that can’t be helped by the tour operators. There were no toilets on board as described when we booked but there were stops at some points along the way. However this added time to an already long day. The driver and tour guide were very friendly and pick up was on time.
