Probably not for everyone

Arch_T, Dec 2024
This, in my opinion, is for very skilled and experienced motorcyclists, not beginners or those who haven’t ridden in a long while (like me). This key info was not plainly disclosed. We did a few minutes of traffic-free, low-speed prep, (25 mph tops), then as we began the tour, I was suddenly told we’re hoping onto a fast- moving, heavy traffic highway. Without an opportunity to adjust, I was doing maybe 40 mph on the highway as the guide pressured me to speed up to approx 55 to keep up with traffic (felt very dangerous). We then pulled off, I told him I’m trying to develop a comfort level, he told me to keep up or we’ll turn back; felt strange that my lack of comfort was not at all his concern. I asked if we could use a slower route to help me develop comfort, he said this was not an option as all other routes are even faster. We got back onto the road, it became clear this was not going to work so the guide said we’re going back. Then, to my surprise, he found a slower, residual route back where I did find more comfort. This is what I needed and requested but I was told this option wasn’t available (although obviously it was). So I lost half of my $400. In retrospect, would have really helped to have been informed (in advance) that I’d be expected to quickly ride at 55 mph and faster on a high traffic highway, as we ride to the mountains. Then, throughout the mountain tour (as our guide informed) it would require continuing to ride at this high speed level. I could have rented the vehicle in advance, developed comfort, or determined this isn’t for me. This key info would have prevented what turned out to be an overall bad experience.

First and foremost, we agree with you completely that this isn't an option for everyone! However, our focus as a tour operator in Las Vegas is to provide a unique experience for anyone WILLING to try something new who is also aware of what the experience entails! Safety is our main priority above anything else which is evident in the amount of satisfied guests we have had do our experiences who not only verbally thank us for our steps that we take to ensure their safety both prior to the tour starting and during the tour, but it's apparent in the reviews that state this aspect of our company! The vast majority of our guests (75%+) have absolutely no experience on anything, motorcycles, snowmobiles, atv’s or jetskis, and of that 75% of our clientele, about 85% of them actually go through the steps and training and do the experience successfully and have an enjoyable time doing so. We definitely have people back out because they don’t feel safe, which is completely understandable, but the majority of people that book with us do participate and have fun. That said, you in particular have an “M Endorsement,” therefore you have gone through the required course to operate a motorcycle and drive them on the streets. You expressed this to us when we asked if you had prior experience before we started with the rental agreements for you to sign. Therefore you have more knowledge than the average person that comes through our doors. When you mention “KEY INFO” not being explained, does that include on TripAdvisor/Viator in the WHAT”S INCLUDED section where it mentions the experience takes place on a Can-AM motorcycle or in the ADDITIONAL INFO section where it mentions Not recommended for people that cannot confidently ride on public roads? Or, when we went through the “MOM & DAD” talk with you, like we do with 100% of our guests, prior to doing any sort of training, which we verbally highlight what the experience truly entails, the safety concerns, the traveling on the real road with other vehicles around you and the necessity to do the speed limit so you not only don’t put yourself at risk but also the people around you, as well as explaining that you will practice on the bike by yourself to get acclimated before we put your wife on for the final lap to have a say in safety and comfortability as well? This is all done verbally because we know the vast majority of people don’t read the entire product outline in its entirety so we do our due diligence to give you and everyone else the “KEY INFO” prior to getting on the bike for training. Now, let’s fast forward to you training when you were here specifically…you trained well and on your second lap when you came around our building, you were speeding, with a smile on your face and we told you to slow it down a little bit before getting your wife on for the final lap after we asked you point blank if you felt confident to get her on the back at that point or if you needed to do another lap(s). You told us you were fine to put her on for the final lap. (We ask everyone after their second laps if they need to do more or if they feel confident enough to either get their passenger on or to start the tour). Now, we will jump to the final point of “KEY INFO” which is when Anthony, your private tour guide, went over his safety spiel before getting on his bike to start the guided tour. At this point he told you specifically about distancing while driving being a factor which limits getting cut off by other vehicles while driving, he told you about yellow lights and not feeling compelled to run them if you do get separated and he would pull over if that occurs as well as telling you about keeping up with the flow of traffic because if you don’t, you put yourself at risk along with drivers around you who become impatient. This is a factual statement even when operating a normal vehicle. Therefore, all “KEY INFO” was reiterated to you multiple times, whether in the product description or verbally when you were physically in our facility or while doing training! Next point of contention would be you referring to our route to get into Red Rock Canyon taking place on a highway. For you and everyone reading this, our tour only takes place on surface streets until you get into the Canyon itself. After your training commences, you immediately get onto Desert Inn Rd which has a speed limit of 45mph. In the Canyon itself, the speed limit increases to 50+mph. Neither of these roads are a highway, nor do we ever put our guests on a highway during any of our tours! For everyone that has Google, if you search our physical location, you will see Desert Inn Rd runs right behind our facility and it is not a highway. Again, unfortunately ALL DRIVERS have to get acclimated to the speeds relatively quickly with this specific experience because not only can tour operators for any business not train in the canyon itself because it’s Gov’t land (it wouldn’t be conducive due to the speed limit there anyway), but the route to get to Red Rock can’t be done through residential neighborhoods because you would never get up to speed on those roads to understand what it would be like in the canyon itself. Your return route to our shop was to cater to your apprehension to get up to speed which is why we took you through the neighborhoods doing 20/25mph. If we took that route to get to the Canyon with everyone, we would have to A) extend our tours to 5 hours B)Charge more for the added time of the tour & C) still run into the issue of guests not being acclimated to the speed change when we got to the mouth of the canyon, thus potentially wasting everyone’s time when they get out there and have to turn back because of lack of comfort doing 50mph having never been introduced to a higher speed than 25mph! The main conundrum for us after reading both reviews you left (Google being the other) was the fact that when you got back to our shop, and we went over the safety regarding you not getting up to speed and the reason Anthony turned to come back, you thanked Anthony and told him you would have never been able to get up to the speed limits so you were glad he brought you two back. In regards to your money spent, when you book on this platform along with many others, you agree to a 24-hour non-refundable window. TripAdvisor/Viator have a very lengthy and specific refund policy which you agree to before you conclude the transaction with your credit card information. So that, along with the different opportunities you had to make an informed decision prior to booking the experience don’t warrant a full refund or partial refund for that matter. Aside from that, we as suppliers schedule a tour guide and you reserved two bikes for that time (one for the tour guide) frame that can’t be rebooked to possibly resell to another potential guest, so why is a refund warranted when people’s time and a company’s product are taken for an allotted period of time? “KEY INFO” was provided to you repeatedly both prior to booking the experience, had you read the description in its entirety, and when you were physically in our presence. We try to make everyone know the safety risks of this experience both in writing so you do not waste your time when you get here to our facility, but also after you get here to our facility many times. Safety is our main concern with every guest that comes through our doors. We don’t hide that at any point and we reiterate to everyone that this is a Want TO, not a Have To! We want everyone to have an enjoyable experience, but not one that includes stress and risk of safety concern. If you can’t do the speed limit or drive with the flow of traffic you are at major risk of an accident and that’s something we can’t risk. We can’t go slower to get to Red Rock Canyon or even in Red Rock Canyon because you can and will get pulled over and it has happened on occasion. Going slow is counterintuitive. A lot of our guests think that going slower is safer and that the driver’s around you will be ok with it. In Vegas this is not the case. Drivers here are impatient and will rear-end you or cut you off. That said, we try our hardest to impress on every driver how vital it is to go with the flow of traffic!! Ultimately this experience isn’t for everyone and we know that. We have been offering our services to our guests for 4 years and this is the first time we have ever had someone with a motorcycle license not feel safe doing the speed limit and there is nothing wrong with that. We have had thousands of people participate in our experiences and a decent amount who back out because they don’t feel safe or misread the description thinking it was an off-road experience. It’s part of the business, which we understand, but don’t think for one second safety isn’t our priority and that we won’t put your safety first from the second you walk through our doors to the time the tour concludes and you return from the tour!

Can’t wait to go again!!!

We had a great time. Our guide Anthony was friendly, knowledgeable, and not overly “tour guidy”. He was there to assist and interact but not be the star of the show. Bikes were in good shape and easy to manage.

A must do activity when in Vegas!!

Chad_S, Jan 2023
Had a blast! Mitch was a top tier guide for the experience. Riding the bike with the beautiful view of the Montains in the forefront was amazing!! We loved the whole experience!!🔥🔥🔥

If you’re curious about the bikes, this is a good opportunity to try them out.

Nice staff. Allowed you to practice before hand without cutting into your ride time. It’s an easy path from their store to the site. Very cold ride but I enjoyed it very much.

Thank you Rosland! Next time you come out we'll have a hoodie for you! Appreciate your business.
