PLEASE ARRIVE 15 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR TOUR IS SCHEDULED TO DEPART, OUT OF COURTESY TO OTHERS WE LEAVE ON TIME. If your ship is docked at the Adventure Dock, proceed ashore to the Adventure Center. Once inside the Adventure Center walk through the building and exit through door number “2”. (This is clearly marked). Follow the signs on the gravel path to the Excursion Hub. The total walking time is 6-8 minutes, please allow extra time if you are not a fast walker. We ask that you check in for your tour 15 minutes early and we leave on time. If your ship is docked at the Wilderness Dock, walk up the ramp and to the right. Ride the FREE Green Transporter Gondola(4 minute ride) to the Adventure Landing. Exit the Gondola to the Left and follow the signs to the Excursion Hub, a 3 minute walk. Please check in with the Hoonah Travel Representative in the Blue Shirt/Jacket when you arrive at the Hub!

What a fantastic experience with Fairweather Kayaks. I was so very fortunate as I received a one on one tour which I can’t promise for others, but even without the individualized attention this was a special experience. We arrived to meet a friendly family that went the extra mile in every way, including taking photos of us they emailed that day. Hoonah didn’t deliver a beautiful sunny morning for us, but the water was calm and the journey was peaceful. I would do this excursion 10/10 times. Icing on the cake was getting to shop at the HTA store after with great deals. Thank you Cody and Michelle!

Our sea kayak tour with Cody was unforgettable. Calm waters, breathtaking views, and then, a humpback whale surfaced just 100 meters away. Truly awe-inspiring.
Cody’s knowledge and calm confidence made the experience both safe and exhilarating. Michelle and Dave rounded out the dream team - supportive, friendly, and capturing professional-quality photos we’ll treasure forever.

This was amazing. The team was extremely nice and friendly and we got to see 5-6 different whales. We saw them bubble feed multiple times and being on a kayak and eye level was soooo cool. It was a once in a lifetime experience. Better than I could have imagined

This was exactly what we were hoping for! We had a great day kayaking with our guide, Cody. His team and he kept an eye out for wildlife so we were able to see whales, sea lions, seals, porpoise and otters on this day! He also is a wealth of information on all things Alaska, especially Hoonah and it's wildlife. We were never bored and had a lovely time all around

Kayaking with Cody was a highlight of our trip! Not only is Cody, his mom and step-dad some of the nicest people we met while in Alaska, but the personalized experience was wonderful! Cody takes you out kayaking while his mom takes spectacular photos of you and the scenery from the safety boat while also looking for wildlife for us to find! We learned so much about Hoonah (Icy Straigh Point) and saw a sea lion, so many eagles, held a crab and even a octopus! We missed the whales by about an hour but thats okay! I absolutely recommend this experience for all who visit Hoonah!

Fantastic morning in a double. The guys were flexible and fun! We saw some whales headed our direction a d ended up following them for the balance of the last hour, up close and personal. SO much fun! Guide tempered the paddle to what we were seeing and our ability.
He had so many stories as we moved along.
They also ran a safety boat the was close by but not intrusive.
My one constructive comment would be a bit better direction to meet up. We wandered a bit before finding where we should be.

We have had an incredible time with Cody and the rest of the gang (including two lovely dogs!). On our magnificent 3 hour trip we encountered jumping salmon, a star fish, soaring eagles and even a minke whale. The excursion was well organized and very accommodating (I never kayaked before and was given great tips and lots of attention). I would highly recommend this adventure and feel so very grateful for the sightings and experience. Thanks guys! 🙏🏻☺️

Cody, Dave, Michelle and Terry were all amazing. Very kind & knowledgeable, they made sure we were all safe, comfortable and happy. A family owned and operated company, I’m very happy to have done this vs through the cruise. While we didn’t see whales, we saw a seal, more eagles than I’ve ever seen before and jaw dropping spectacular views. 10/10 recommend!

The crew, including Cody and David, did an outstanding job of making sure everything was professional and enjoyable! We saw many eagles and a seal, and got to hold a big crab and sunstar creature! The views are outstanding and we would definitely do it again! And we’re from the Carolinas and didn’t fall out of our kayak! Lol

Had a great time kayaking in the ocean and seeing whales along with other animals and great sights. Loved meeting the owner as I found out he was kayaking with us and he took the time to make sure we were all having a blast. Loved our time on this excursion.

Unfortunately, the Pictures/Website are misleading with several pictures of Whales closer and even Breaching. We were in shallow water most of the time and nowhere near where Whales would even go (this is the main reason we chose this excursion). Yes we were along the River most of the time and where wildlife could have appeared. We suspect things have changed bc of a bad experience with a Whale Breaching too close to Kayakers at least once in the past. It was fun but I wish they'd remove the misleading Whale Pictures.

MUST DO! Not only half the price of others, but a breathtaking experience. This was a once in a lifetime experience the guide was knowledgeable and taught us a ton about the whales and bears. They even trail a ‘safety boat’ and they take a million photos of you for free. Not only an amazing tour, but a photographer too. Truly amazing.

You can never guarantee what wildlife you are going to see or what the weather will bring, so having a knowledgeable, entertaining guide is key. Dave and the support team brought all that. We saw sea lions, crab, migrating herons, spawning salmon, and jellyfish, and got rained on a little. And it delivered the greatest sense of calm and peace surrounded by pure beauty I have ever experienced. Thank you Fairweather Kayaks!

What a great time! Cody, Michelle and the rest of the Fairweather crew were top notch. They provide the gear and tuck you in with a kayak skirt so you don't get wet. We really enjoyed talking with Cody during the tour. He's super positive, knowledgeable, funny and a real pleasure to be around. We saw porpoises, eagles, and spawning salmon. Michelle responded quickly to my questions in the days leading up to the tour and was warm and accommodating in person. She stayed behind in a boat and took some great photos for us to enjoy later. Loved the Mocha silhouette pics! Fantastic experience in beautiful Hoonah!

Absolutely recommend this experience if you're stopping to explore! If I could give 10 stars I would. Guides were fantastic, support crew provided some great pictures, and we experienced a beautiful day which made things even better. I don't know if there is a single thing that could be changed to make this a better trip, absolutely a great value.

Tour operator was very experienced and prepared. They had 3 guides a safety boat, which of course was not needed. They outfitted us with the necessary gear (life vests, kayak skirt and water) and got us out on the water quickly. We were fortunate enough to have seen a pod of humpback whales, schools of salmon and a bear. We then had snacks while pictures were taken by a member on the safety boat. These were then emailed to us without request for purchase. We were out there over 3 hours and had an absolutely fabulous time. I would give this tour and it's operator 6 stars if we could.

The guides were wonderful, tour was beautiful and we had a perfect day. The only thing that could have made it better was seeing more wildlife but that is at the mercy of Mother Nature.

Words cannot express how grateful we are for the team. This tour was the highlight of our Alaska trip for our teenagers (and we know how dificult it is to please teenagers). We saw so many eagles and crabs. The kayak team was so amazing. We felt like we were kayaking with family!. Highly recommend this tour. Will definitely book this tour again when we decide to go back to Alaska!

Had a wonderful time. The weather was perfect and the guides were great at letting everyone row at their pace. Hoonah is located in the most breathtaking scenery, was so peaceful to be out in the water, taking it all in. Saw eagles, lots of jumping salmon and crabs. Bear was spotted by the guides but ran off before we got close enough to see it.
