Begin your journey at a Hilton Head Island meeting point, with ample parking available, to start your private charter adventure. Meet your captain and set sail for the tranquil Vanishing Mile Isle, a serene alternative to bustling shared boat tours. Emerging only during low tide, this isle promises an off-the-beaten-path experience.
The journey continues past Harbour Town Lighthouse and Museum, followed by the beach line of Daufuskie Island, a prime spot for spotting wild dolphins in the Calibogue Sound.
Accompanied by a Low Country Master Naturalist, you can take a break to try out beachcombing activities, discovering sand dollars, seashells, and more, while learning about the local ecosystem.
After a day filled with stunning views and discoveries, your journey concludes back at your starting point on Hilton Head Island.

I wouldn’t miss this! Captain Mark was so friendly and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the area a the sea creatures. We saw dolphins close to our boat. Once we got to the island, Captain Mark helped us find sand dollars, star fish, and other creatures. We had a great time. I can highly recommend,

Was a great trip to and from the vanishing island as Captain Mark was informative and entertaining along the way. Island was full of sand dollars and shells and was fun searching for them.

We had a great time out on the water with Captain Mark. We went to the Vanishing Mile (sandbar) and though we didn't find as many shells as we had hoped, we still had a fun time.

Captain Mark has raised the bar!!! Standard cruises or tours will never be a part of our trips. Our go to will be Captain Mark! Hands down the best tour we have had in the last 7 vacations to HHI!!! Highly recommend!!! Boat was clean, he had great facts about the locations and even showed us a few hidden gems of the river on our way out. When we got to the vanishing island - he helped guide us to the best places to walk and what to look for. Everyone had a great time and went home with some treasures as well as great memories. Kudos to Captain Mark!!

Our experience at the vanishing mile isle was the highlight of our trip! The 4 of us found sea life and seashells. Experiencing the dolphins so up close and watching them strand feeding was amazing. You can tell Mark loves his job as Captain and is very informed and attentive to the needs and interests of his clientele.

Great experience with captain Mark! Went shelling at the vanishing sand bar and found 41 sand dollars, shells, spider crab several types of jelly fish and various bird species. Our kids were beyond thrilled! This is a must do while on HHI!

We had moms getaway of 6 women and they all had such a great time. The comment was that this was so much better and richer than just a looking for dolphin ride as captain mark talked about the stuff we were seeing (worms, imprints in sand from starfish) and about the island (neighborhoods, traffic and tourist patterns).

Captain Mark was very informative along our tour to the sandbar. He gave us history of the area, shared with us about the sea life, and birds that we saw along the way. It was a very enjoyable, relaxing trip. Once at the sandbar he helped us find sand dollars and identify shells, jelly fish, and crabs. My family and I had a fantastic time, and we will do this again.

Captain Mark’s tour was the best part of our trip to Hilton Head. My adult children and grandkids were constantly squealing with excitement. We learned a lot of facts about the ocean on our way to see dolphins. Being on a tour with six people made it an experience we shared as a family. We went to our own corner of the vanishing island and didn’t have to share our experience with all the other people across the way. The two older grandkids love science and had a lot of questions which he answered. He showed the kids how to look for starfish and they each found a whole sand dollar they could take home. When it was time to go back my granddaughter told him how she reads every book she can about dolphins. He then took us to see if we could find them strand feeding. When we got back to shore the kids said it was the very best part of vacation and could we please go again the next day. Had it not been a hurricane today if he had availability I would have scheduled another trip. Today he texted us pictures and a video he took of us and thanked us for choosing his tour. The kids can’t wait to go home and tell their friends about their trip to the vanishing island! Book it now!!

Captain Mark enjoys what he does and it shows. His communication before the tour is great. He sends pictures where to turn, let’s you know he is with a group before yours in case it runs a little late. His boat was perfect for the five of us, which included an 11 and 14 year old. He created the best experience for us Kansans, sharing his knowledge, and he has a lot. We were able to see a bunch of dolphins and they swam up close, we then went to the vanishing mile and there was no one there at the beginning. We got so many sand dollars. He went out on the beach with us and identified things for us…lots of sea stars, jelly fish, hermit crabs and shells. He even found a big shell in the mud that he gave us. I’m telling you that it’s worth every penny to take this tour. Mark is one of the best!

Fantastic time for kids and family! We found sand dollars, starfish, and many jellyfish! We saw so many dolphins on our tour! This is our 3rd time taking a boat tour of the vanishing island but the first time with Captain Mark. It was by far the best one yet! He was very knowledgeable about the island and sea life. The other tours we took in the past never saw any dolphins. Not only did Mark find them, he let us sit and watch them play! It was an amazing day! I would highly recommend!

Our very 1st day of vacation in Hilton Head Island was boat ride to Vanishing Mile Isle with Captain Mark. We saw dolphins, found sand dollars, starfish, jellyfish, shells......it was wonderful experience, we were so grateful to have Captain Mark took us for the trip.

Amazing experience! Captain Mark reached out the morning of our cruise to find out if we were comfortable going out with a storm coming in. We were and we were lucky to have a gorgeous day. Mark was able to find dolphin pods on the trip out, which was a great bonus for the kids. The vanishing island is a truly special experience.

This excursion was fantastic. Captain Mark was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and patient. We saw so many dolphins on our boat ride. At the sand bar we found so many starfish, sand dollars, and seashells. We will absolutely be calling Mark to go out again then next time we come to HH. We made memories to last a lifetime. Captain Mark was super nice, funny, and knowledgeable and we will definitely be using him again in the future! Awesome boat ride, great time searching for stuff on Vanishing Isle, and we saw tons of dolphins during the boat ride! Excellent trip for kids and adults. Captain Mark was great! He was wonderful with our kids (ages 4 and 7), gave us some history of the area, and showed us the local dolphins. The island was awesome—bring a bucket for shells! We got to see a lot of starfish and the kids had a blast (we did too!). Even though the day was a little cooler weather-wise, we still had an amazing time and it was one of the highlights of our trip.
