We pick up from all hotels, lodges, and campgrounds in Tusayan (just outside GCNP) and inside the park at the South Rim, including the El Tovar, Yavapai, Maswik, and Bright Angel Lodges, as well as the campground and Trailer Village. Pickup time is between 9:30 and 10:00 AM. Please allow for this window, as there can be a delay getting into the Park.

The experience was amazing. I loved being educated by John along the extent of the entire tour and enjoyed knowing just how much the owner of Dave Canyon Tours contributed to the geological study of the canyon. I was prepared to see a canyon, not a whole community! It was more than I imagined and John took great pride in educating us from all the beauty and amazing accomplishments of people who lived in the canyon to all of the not so glamorous side of the canyon... death, both accidental and preventable. I'm a snacker, so knowing that snacks were provided as well as lunch was great! John took great care of us and I would definitely recommend this tour if you want more than just a silent vehicle ride and a couple of picture perfect moments. Thanks!

Our family of four (two seniors, two grandkids) shared a big van with another family of four (young couple w/ two small children), and everyone had plenty of room.
Our amiable driver, John, clearly enjoys his job, and provided us an excellent experience, with interesting commentary on our numerous stops (even a geology lesson -- complete with labeled rock samples -- on the Canyon at one point). The (included) lunch at one of the lodges was top-notch.
Then there was the Grand Canyon itself. A lifelong bucket-list item for the two seniors, it was everything we'd hoped it would be, breathtaking at every turn (we even lucked into a gorgeous sunrise as we headed east from the Park the next morning).
If you're planning your own trip to the Grand Canyon, we highly recommend the guided tour option with Canyon Dave's. There's no doubt we saw and learned more than we would have had we ventured about on our own.

You could go on you own and you will have the experience of a lifetime. But I recommend this tour because you will learn so much about how the canyon was formed, the history of the area, the vegetation, and the wildlife. It picks up from most local hotels and you get to see even more while being driven.

Keaton was born to tell the story of the Grand Canyon. A great guide. He has to drive to and from Flagstaff (90 minutes each way) but did not rush us in the least on the six-hour tour.

Keaton gave us a great experience starting with the convenient pickup from our hotel and throughtout the whole day. Lunch and snacks were provided and he is very knowledgeable on the regions history. We definitely recommend this tour.

Great experience with knowledgeable guide. Thank you Keaton for taking us to memorable places and keeping us safe. Many places without fences, most actually, we were able to avoid and still see the great scenery. Good restaurant and enough restrooms on the way. We wanted our grand-girls, 11&14, to see and learn as much as possible in the 1-day we were going to be at the Canyon. The tour allowed us to sit back and enjoy the Canyon and not deal with the logistics of navigating ourselves through the park. So stress-less!! Best of all, our guide, Keaton, was full of interesting facts and able to answer our questions as well.

John was very knowledgeable on the different rocks & layers that make up the majestic Grand Canyon. His knowledge on the Kolb brothers & other pioneers was very exciting to listen too. Bought some rocks to show my 4 yr old kids at the day school

Very informative, professionally run tour. Our tour guide Keaton was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Highly recommend this tour, especially if you have only one day to explore the Grand Canyon like we did. Our guide took many photos of our group for us. And he provided historical, geological and anthropological information throughout the day. We really enjoyed this tour!

The tour was the ultimate experience of awesome vistas, one surpassing the next. So breathtaking that I teared up at the initial view! We were 2 couples in 70’s and 80’s and this tour was very do-able. The perfect amount of time was spent at each vista. Riding in a van offered flexibility to see more of the Canyon’s south rim than we would have managed on our own. Our terrific guide, Keaton, is extremely personable and shared an overwhelming amount of ecology, geology and history of the area. It was akin to a 6-hour seminar; you come away smarter! We continued to marvel at Keaton’s vast knowledge long after we left.. He truly enhanced our experience, including a U-turn to stop for us enjoy a longer look at a herd of Mule Deer!

The tour of the canyon was way beyond our expectations. The main reason for that other than the vistas was what Keaton brought to the excursion. To simplify it he was phenomenal. Can’t explain how knowledgeable and professional he was the entire trip.
