The captain took the boat out even though the weather report clearly showed lightning and thunder starting at about the same time we were due to leave. We had to rush back to shore because it was lightning out and very j safe. We had about half the excursion. When I requested a 50% refund I was declined. Instead I was given 25% back. We paid for 10’peoe and our cost was $650. That’s a tremendous amount to pay for half a trip and being in harms way.

We apologize for your disappointment. We take safety very seriously and do not operate when lightning is within our operating area. It is very common for there to be rain and storms inland and not on the coast. We continually monitor the conditions via several apps. At the time of departure it looked to be a typical day in SWFL with storms inland bet not reaching the coast, unfortunately part of the way through the tour predictions changed and we proactively returned to port prior to any safety risks. As per your request we did offer you to go earlier in the day prior to any storms starting but you then changed your mind to stay with original time. I at that time warned you the chance of completing the whole tour would decrease. As with most operators if they complete any part of the tour they do not offer any refund. We did give a 25% refund and offered rescheduling options, most operators do not offer either.
We had a great time with Captain Dan! Very easy going and great with the kids. Our trip was off to a slow start in seeing wildlife but Capt was able to pull off a memorable dolphin sighting and got one of the babies to “hitch a ride” with us! So cool! All in all, a great day on the water & even if you don’t get to see a to. If wildlife, you will see some STUNNING real estate! 😍

The boat ride itself was very enjoyable, and the views were awesome. We saw plenty of dolphins; the price was definitely worth it. Watching a mama and baby dolphin play was the highlight! And we got to see some iguanas on the shores too! The captain was knowledgeable and lighthearted and made the ride even better. Overall, it was a great family experience.

My son and I took the day cruise to see dolphins and manatees. We had Captain Dan and he told us all about Bird Island, the dolphins and manatees. We learned about the mangroves and Hurricane Ian as well. We had a great tour and learned so much about the sea life and the area around Fort Myers Beach! It was wonderful!

This was a great experience! It was fun and safe for my 2, 3, and 5 year old. The guide was knowledgeable about the area and safe around the dolphins and manatees. I would definitely recommend this for other families!

The captain of the vote was extremely nice and a wealth of knowledge. We were able to see I am dolphin, manatee stingray, and some of them got to see a bullnose shark. We had a great time.

I wasn’t comfortable riding on a boat but wanted to give an amazing experience to my kids and their friends and Captain Dan reassured it would be great and it was nothing short of that!! We saw dolphins and a manatee within the first 10 mins!! It was a great family experience and he was so knowledgeable of the wildlife and the history of the area!!

We had such a great time! While it is understood that the guides cannot guarantee that we see the wild animals, on this particular tour we got to watch 5-6 dolphins playing near our boat! What a wonderful experience!

Thank you for the great review! Yes we cannot guarantee wildlife sightings but we do our best to find all sorts of native animals, and typically do.

Lots a room you can walk around the boat. It’s nice and clean the Captain and first mate are well knowledged of the area we seen dolphins and manatees which was really cool. It can be hot if they’re not going fast but it was probably what 95 100° when we went, but when the boat is moving faster. There’s a beautiful breeze. It’s cool you down the water is not deep. It looks really nice. Really friendly place. Everybody was really courteous. Would do it again.

Captain Dan is such a wonderful guy. I'm in a electric wheelchair and he knew how to handle me very well. He also treated me with respect even with my service dog. He is very knowledgeable and very very funny. All I can say is that you definitely want to be on his boat. I will be returning ang in the winter and I plan to book with him again.

We recently took the Fort Myers Beach Dolphin and Sightseeing Tour and unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. Compared to other dolphin tours we have been on, this one felt underwhelming and not quite worth the price. There is was no action where you are going higher speeds seeing dolphins following the boats and jumping in the wakes since the boat just did a big circle going extremely slow.
The pontoon boat never left the bay where we saw 3 dolphin fins briefly, which you can see on your own along the beaches. We actually saw more activity directly after the boat ride right outside our condo where dolphins here jumping and feeding right next to shore. That said, Ryan who drove the boat, was very kind and did his best to make the trip enjoyable. The other couples who were on our trip who we spoke with afterwards felt the same as us that is was basically a waste of our time and money. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, just disappointed and I would not recommend to others.
The pictures included are from the boat except for the jumping dolphin that was taken outside on the beach from the condo on the opposite side of water where they took you out in the boat and approximately 20 mins after we returned from this trip. In the pictures with the birds you can see what dolphin activity was witnessed on board the boat.

We apologize for your disappointment. Some days are not as action packed as other when it comes to wildlife. The Dolphins in our area are resident dolphins and the actually do spend most of their time in the backbay. Typically we find plenty of them but there are those occasional days the move to other areas and do not cooperate. They are wild animals and they do what they want when they want.
Saw many active dolphins and manatees. Weather was perfect! Parking lot right on the dock. Beautiful ride over to Sanibel lighthouse.
