We had an incredible experience. We were worried after have a terrible experience with a different company in Rome. This skip the line experience was just perfect. We showed up and redeemed our voucher. Waited maybe 2 minutes next to the contact person and then he walked us right up to the entrance and we went straight in. No waiting at all. Would highly recommend.

Where is the meeting point and can I recognize the guide? Meeting point: Via Ricasoli n. 45 Blue in front of the Accademia Gallery entrance. Please arrive at the meeting point a few minutes before your scheduled entry time. When you arrive look for 45 blue number. Florence residences use blue number and while business use red number . It's not on office. Please don't ring any bell and stay in front of the door. See florence italy assistant will assist you. This ticket give you priority access,bypassing the long line. This is self guided entry only. Please bring a valid I'D of your children to prove their age

Go early, crowds are insane and book online. I'm amazed Michaelangelo was able to turn a huge lump of stone ( Marble) into such a smooth wonder.

My experience with Viator was poor. Accademia Gallery itself was great and is the reason for any stars. Booking on Viator was fine. We had 3 tickets for 10.30am. But when we went to the meeting spot to collect the paper ticket from the Viator agent (we got there 1 min early and most definitely not late), was told “oh you’ll want to go at 11.15pm, it’s much better, I’ll give you a 11.15pm ticket”. Ah no thanks , we have plans and booked for 10.30am so can we please keep our original booking. “Don’t worry don’t worry. 11.15pm is better”. I got the definite impression that they’d run out of 10.30am tickers are we were “so lucky” to be offered a later slot and what, hang around the streets in the heat for 45 mins for the pleasure? We put our foot down and ended up being given physical tickets - two for 10.30am (original slot) and one for 11.15pm ( not what we’d booked) , then told to wait in the 10.30am queue , all of us (they didn’t have enough 10.30am tickets for us all??). Then the AG staff said , if you’re a group with different entry times, you’ll enter at the latest time - so we’d all 3 still be let in at only 11.15pm. Sigh - call over the Viator agent, lots of passive aggressive “look lady, I told you to wait in the queue, don’t worry, it’ll be fine”. In my mind, once I get to the front of the 10.30am queue, if the AG person has their policy on group entry, that’ll trump what Viator agent floating around the streets has told me. Lots of stress but we got it sorted in the end. Also “skip the line” doesn’t mean “skip the line”. It means you’ll join a queue of 50-100 people who have the same ticket and have to wait. It took us about 30 mins to get to the front of the line , maybe faster than general unticketed entry, but still a wait, FYI. Next time - I wouldn’t book with Viator, I’d be better planned and book direct with AG before their tickets sell out

Not really skip the line

Not really a skip the line ticket. Met the agent who did not have tickets for our book time slot, but did have tickets for 15 minutes later. The tickets only gave you access to the queue for that time slot, so still had to queue for over 20 minutes.

This is a good way to get tickets for an excursion you missed buying direct. Our guide was right where he was supposed to be and there were no issues. He was pleasant. We paid about 3x the price of the ticket.

To have tickets downloaded beforehand if you have booked online. One staff member was very rude & would not help us at all. She practically yelled at me. Enjoyed inside the gallery once we got in there.

Don’t book this. They don’t have the tickets so they try to change the time on you last minute. We didn’t even go and I’m still waiting on a refund. You’re better off to just go when it opens and wait in the line and save on all the extra fees they add here for no reason.

To see David by Michelangelo was absolutely stunning. But the guide showing up last minute, changing the time of entry, and still had to wait in the queue. Not exactly what I expected from 'skip-the-line'. Definitely recommend visiting Academia. Just not with this tour operator.

We skipped the line but we're never provided with the promised QR code to get the free audio guide. We didn't realize that until we were in the museum at the audio guide counter and the QR code on the ticket didn't work. I'd say they owe us a partial refund.

Good experience, we got our ticket in time without having to wait. Although, the person responsible for handing over the tickets tried to scare us by saying that our bags will not be allowed inside and tried to convince us to store our bags at a supermarket, which was not what happened

Don’t bother - scammed by tour guide

The guide did not show up and never answered my messaging. An hour after he was supposed to meet us, he said he was there with our tickets. I had already requested a refund with Viator and purchased additional tickets - for HALF the price - directly from the museum. If Viator does not refund me, I will be disputing this with my credit card company. Just buy your tickets that morning at the ticket window #51.

We were in Florence for a very short period of time so this was a well-worth it experience for us to avoid spending a lot of time in line. Although the instructions on the meeting point seem a little confusing when you first read them, it was exactly as described. A representive immediately came up to us with our tickets when we got there and then walked us to the proper line and made sure we got in. All in all, it took us less than 5 minutes between getting the tickets and getting into security. The representative had a QR code to scan for the audio guide, so make sure you bring headphones for your phone if you don't want to listen to it against your ear. We enjoyed the gallery and David was much more impressive than I expected. Although the mark-up is steep for the tickets, to us the time savings was worth it.

First, everyone beware the situation and set up to get into this place is an absolute disaster, but this “skip the line “option from VA is not what you’re going to be expecting. There is a mass of people everywhere, and they tell you to meet their host at a certain point and it’s just some person with a logo shirt on, he had a handwritten list of names on a scrap of paper, which is the only way he confirmed our reservation. It took forever for him to actually get our “tickets “which were again ragged pieces of paper and the security refused them, letting us skip the line at first until I had to get heated with both of them at which case they just let us in to avoid a scene.

Worth purchasing to skip the line! The meeting location is strictly to meet the person handing out your timed ticket to skip the long queue line for museum entry. We did not have to wait for a single minute with our tickets! The museum itself is quite small- but the David statue is incredible and worth seeing on your visit to Florence.

Tickets were purchased and promised for 8:15. They were skip the line tickets. We showed up at 8 for the “guide” to inform us that they only had tickets for 9:15. No prior communication. They told us we could wait in line but it would be hours. I communicated with Viator and they advised I take the tickets. They then refused to refund any money because I had taken the tickets. Also there is no tour. They are basically scalping tickets.

The entire experience was confusing and not worth the upcharge. Unlike the title, we did not skip the line, in fact, we waited in many lines because there were no clear instructions or signage indicating where to wait. The audio guide was clearly unofficial and the whole experience felt under the table (apparently we needed headphones for the tour?? Only one of us coincidentally brought a pair). The only reason my family was able to get in the museum was because I randomly ran into a person with a viator lanyard amongst a sea of tourists. Overall, not worth the price or process. Save some confusion, book early and just buy direct.

A tour made easy!

This is my third booking with Viator during my trip to Italy. Each of them has been excellent and have gone without any problems. Today I visited Michelangelo‘s David and the local tour operator was very friendly and got me into the proper line and made everything go smoothly. I have used other tour companies for local tours, but this one has been the best!
