Not Really a Ghost Tour

Trevor_B, Feb 2026
Eh. This wasn’t really a ghost tour, only the first stop really has anything to do with ghosts. The rest of the stops were just landmarks where famous people passed away or places where people passed away under mysterious circumstances. It was a fine walking tour and I learned some stuff about Detroit but it was only very loosely related to ghosts. It should be called “walking tour of mildly creepy landmarks”

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Hello, Trevor! Thank you for your honest feedback. We understand how the experience may not have fully matched your expectations for a ghost-focused tour, though we’re glad to hear you still found some of the history in Detroit interesting. Your comments are important to us and will be shared with our team as we continue to improve the experience. Please reach out to guestrelations@usghostadventures.com with the name your booking was under, and we’ll be happy to assist you further. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts.

Mediocre at best. Guide...

Dylan_m, Sep 2025
Mediocre at best. Guide told us at the start this was going to be more of a historical tour than a ghost tour. Interesting information but this is NOT a tour about ghosts or hauntings, it's a night time historical tour.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your honesty and understand your expectations were different. We'll pass your comments along to the guide, and we hope you'll consider joining us again for a tour more aligned with your interests.

Don’t waste your money

Ruth_W, Sep 2025
You don’t get to go inside any historic buildings. You walk on the city streets ( very fast) the guide just tells stories about the building.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

We’re sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. We understand it can be disappointing not to go inside the historic buildings and to experience the tour primarily from the city streets. Our guides aim to share rich stories and history during the walk, but we truly value your feedback. Please feel free to reach out to us at guestrelations@tourismo.com with the name your booking was under, and we'll be happy to assist you further. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Not informative at all....

Sandy_R, Aug 2025
Not informative at all. Tour guide should have more of a script to help with stories. Story-telling needs much help. Tour was 2 hours, not 1 hour as listed.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

We're very sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We understand how frustrating it must have been that the tour lacked clear storytelling and structure, and that it ran longer than the advertised duration. Our guides should be equipped with engaging, well-paced content, and it's clear we fell short during your visit. Please reach out to us at guestrelations@tourismo.com with the name your booking was under, and we'll be happy to assist you further.

Andrew was great!

Jatina_H, Aug 2025
Andrew was a fantastic guide. He was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic! I had a great time and definitely recommend this tour.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thanks for the lovely feedback! We’re delighted you had a fun and informative experience. Andrew is one of our best, and we’ll be sure he hears your praise. Can’t wait to see you again on another tour!

Ghost Tour!

Xavion_S, Aug 2025
You do not go inside any of the buildings. However, the guide was very informative and had some great stories to tell!

Response from Host, Sep 2025

We really appreciate you taking the time to leave a review! While we don’t go inside the buildings, we're happy the guide's storytelling brought the history to life. We’ll definitely share your kind words with them. Hope to have you join us again soon!

the hidden side of Detroit!

Josette_C, Aug 2025
Booked this on a whim and it turned out to be so much fun. Our tour guide was a Detroit native who clearly has so much love for her hometown and its history. Her way of storytelling was engaging; my son and I learned so much about Detroit's 3-century history. We'd never visited the city before so it was a great way to explore and learn more! Highly recommend.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you for this amazing feedback! We love hearing that your guide’s passion for Detroit made your first visit to the city so meaningful. Sharing our hometown’s 300-year history is something we’re proud of, and we’re thrilled it resonated with both you and your son. We’ll make sure your guide hears your kind words. Hope to see you again on another adventure!

Don’t do it

Erin_B, Mar 2025
Guide was late, didn’t seem happy to be doing the tour on a Monday. The description of the 1 1/2 was nothing like we experienced. Paid extra for the ghost tools and the guide didn’t explain or act like it was a fun add on. This was a 40th birthday surprise and it was a surprise for sure not a good one I felt bad for bringing him. The corner we met the guide at had parking attendant that was talking horrible about the tour and experience. Would not recommend for gohst adventure fun and the 2 inch plushie was not worth the purchase . The extra 1/2 hour bonus we paid for was a 5 min story with a 10 min walk.

Response from Host, Apr 2025

We're so sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet expectations, especially for such a special occasion. We sincerely apologize for the guide's demeanor, the lack of engagement with the ghost tools, and the overall experience not aligning with the description provided. Your feedback is incredibly valuable, and we deeply regret that you felt disappointed, particularly after planning this as a 40th birthday surprise. We also apologize for the underwhelming extra time and add-ons, and for the unfortunate encounter with the parking attendant. This is not the kind of experience we aim to provide. Please reach out to us at guestrelations@wejunket.com with the name your booking was under — we’d love the opportunity to make this right and assist you further.

Fun and Interesting

Michele_S, Jan 2025
The tour was only outside the buildings. I guess that part surprised me a bit. Thought we would be able to see at least some of them inside. But overall it was fun and interesting.

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us! We're happy you enjoyed the tour overall, and we understand how the outdoor-only format might have been unexpected. Your feedback helps us improve. If you had a guide you enjoyed, we’d love to pass along the kind words. Hope to host you again in the future!

Maybe not.

Barbara_B, Oct 2024
A walk through Detroit is always worth it. Original architectural buildings, still standing and beautiful. It's not what you'd expect for sure. But expect to walk around a lot. There are many interesting places and people we ran into. We did want to rent scooters but where do you find theses? Lol. The haunted tour was nice but the guide not very informative, nor entertaining. A bit boring, we had to leave the tour early, and explore on our own.

Response from Host, Dec 2024

Hi, Barbara! Thank you for sharing your thoughts! We’re glad you enjoyed the beautiful architecture and had the opportunity to explore Detroit. We’re sorry to hear that the haunted tour didn’t meet your expectations and that you found the guide less informative than anticipated. We know you toured a couple of weeks ago, and we hope any issue has been resolved. If there’s anything further we can do to improve your experience, please feel free to reach out to guestrelations@wejunket.com with your booking details.

Great fun!

Wendy_J, Oct 2024
Great really enjoyed the experience and the host!!! The stories were interesting and the walk was very lovely...

Response from Host, Dec 2024

Hi, Wendy! We're so glad you enjoyed your Motor City Ghost Tour. Thanks for joining, and we'd love to have you back for another spooky adventure!

Average at best

Caroline_D, Sep 2024
Content was pretty boring and guide couldn’t really answer any questions in regards to the history. It’s pretty low priced so not a bad way to spend a couple of hours.

Response from Host, Dec 2024

Hi, Caroline! We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We’re sorry to hear that the tour didn’t live up to your expectations, particularly regarding the historical details and engagement. While we’re glad you felt the price was reasonable, we always strive to provide more value. If there’s anything further we can do to assist or address your feedback, please contact guestrelations@wejunket.com with your booking information.

The title says this is a Ghost Tour. That is very misleading....

Nicholas_B, Jun 2024
The title says this is a Ghost Tour. That is very misleading.... First, I see that the itinerary has been updated, as when I booked, it stated that the starting and ending point were the same, which is not the case. Then, we didn't enter any buildings, nothing was remotely spooky, and it was mostly walking, of which you end up a few miles from your car and then have to walk back down Woodward Ave! We stopped at a few buildings, or across from some buildings, and Mike told us a story about someone who died there, or a ghost sighting once at the location....but it was mostly a history tour than anything. Also, this is not "downtown' but across the freeway from downtown. Overall, this was a major disappointment as a "Ghost Tour", especially since we didn't even go into any of the locations.

Response from Host, Dec 2024

Hi, Nicholas! We’re grateful for your honest feedback and are sorry to hear the tour did not meet your expectations as a ghost tour. While we strive to provide a balance of ghost stories and history, we acknowledge that your expectations for a more immersive ghostly experience weren’t met. Please note that our tour description clarifies that we don’t enter buildings. We hope these concerns have been addressed since you toured a couple of months ago, but if there’s anything we can do to assist further, please contact us at guestrelations@wejunket.com with your booking details.

Not really a ghost tour. Some inaccurate information. Nice guide.

Jeremy_S, Jun 2024
Mark was ready at the designated time and place; the listing said he'd be wearing a branded t-shirt and holding a lantern, but he didn't have either. The first building and story were interesting. From there it was a lot of downtime in between locations and the stories didn't always have a direct connection to visited buildings, or stories were told about locations several blocks away. This was really more of an architecture (but without directly focusing on architectural elements) and local celebrity history tour than a ghost tour. To make it better more information could be told in-between stops- we walked through areas with a lot of history, and even some basics about the city of Detroit (considering how old it is) would be nice. There's plenty of history in the city- Mark even mentioned something about the city having burned down in the past, and there have got to be spooky instances associated with this. The end point and starting location were a mile apart, which meant a 20+ minute walk back to your vehicle.

Response from Host, Dec 2024

Hi, Jeremy! Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback! We appreciate your thoughts on the tour and are glad you found the first story and building interesting. We’re sorry to hear that the experience didn’t meet your expectations, especially regarding the storytelling and logistics. We hope these concerns have been addressed since your visit a couple of months ago, but if there’s anything further we can do to assist or make this right, please email us at guestrelations@wejunket.com with your booking details.

Would recommend!!

Katie_B, Dec 2023
It was a fun and accessible walk with some great stories!!! It’s more part interesting/morbid history and part ghost - but we got to see some great buildings and we had a blast. Michael our guide was kind, patient, and knowledgeable :). Would recommend!! You walk about a mile, our group of varying “in shape” status had no issues.

Response from Host, Dec 2023

We're glad you had a great time, Katie. Thank you for sharing this great experience on Michael's tour!
