There were a couple of inaccuracies - eg narrator gave directions to "Streets" that were really "Avenues" which was confusing (in some cities it matters whether you are talking street or avenue). I found the map/directions a bit confusing. But overall it was very informative.

The geo location that determines when the audio advances works perfectly. The narrator’s intonations and inflection are engaging (though I suspect it may be AI based on a few mispronunciations that are phonetically correct but would have been corrected by a producer). The distance covered was easy to walk — even in 37° weather. I appreciated that the route started and ended on the same corner. Highly recommend.

The speaker is clear and quite informative. Following her specific directions made the experience worthwhile and meaningful. Very specific details on this inexpensive tour. I found myself on quite a few corners listening attentively in storing those historical facts. I enjoyed the tour in spite of the very cold fall day.

Perfectly explained tour, musical background, easy to follow, wonderful experience. The amount of time it takes is individual. Worth every penny.

16th St Baptist Church and Civil Rights.Museum were powerful experiences. We need to remember the history of the fighforihhts to be treated as equal human beings. rt

The walking directions were easy to follow and there was a photo for each stop so you would know you were at the right spot. The stories were interesting and well told. Overall this was a great app.

I loved the entire tour but particularly enjoyed Kelly Ingram Park. I think I would have enjoyed the tour even better had I not gone on a Sunday to find out everything (all buildings) was closed so I couldn't properly explore the way the tour suggested.

Great history. Really brought the experience to life. Had a bit of technical trouble initially but a phone call to support resolved it quickly. Highly recommend

Going thru the Gaston Motel and learning about the life of AG Gaston.
The downside of the tour were the several times we were asked for money.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Thanks for that! To clarrify, you were asked for money by who? WalknTours (the app that powers this tour) never asks for money :). I'd love to hear your feedback, please email me at info@walkntours.com. Thank you for using the WalknTours app! I hope you look for our tours in 70+ cities, around the USA and in Europe.

Great way to get an education on civil rights era in Birmingham while keeping it short enough for family with young kids. Our 5yo greatly appreciated listening along with us. Easy to follow. Street traffic was low at the time we went (weekday morning) so listening on speaker worked fine for us. Just wish we would have gotten tickets for 16th Street Baptist ahead of time… it was sold out the day of.

Once we figured it out, the tour was wonderful. Very informational and easy to follow. I will be taking another walking tour tomorrow, in a different city.

Everything is in close proximity so it was a good walk for someone just passing through. We were there on a Monday so most places were closed. Would like to go back and tour the inside of the church and see the museum

Seeing the 16th Baptist Church! Reliving History & Appreciating What My Ancestors have done for me! Thankful for what they’ve done & Making it my Duty to Honor them with My Life’s Accomplishments

We learned so much! the speed was great and kept us moving comfortably! Perfect for us to take advantage of the afternoon before heading to the airport. parking was easy too!
Tom_G, Sep 2023
I learned so much! Grew up during this era and knew “about” the civil rights movement but not the details. It was a great tour with a lot of information that I can review. I liked being able to hear about the location while we were walking. Well done!
Kathleen_L, Sep 2023
We went on the tour at the end of our day in Birmingham. It was a great way of seeing specific areas related to the civil rights movement. I enjoyed the presentation and learned a lot about the history and also got a feeling for life back in the 1950s and 60s.

A super thoughtful and accessible tour that powerfully revisits the Holocaust of the South. Really grateful.

Interesting information and well planned walking route. Love that you can pause and explore, then resume the tour.

Loved that I was able to do the tour solo. The directions were very clear. I was disappointed that some of the locations were closed for tours and I wasn't aware before going.
