Our tour guide Richard was excellent - knowledgeable and explained things in just the right amount of detail. He tailored information and the travelling to the memorial for the group and made sure everyone was looked after. The trip needed you to buy the travel tickets but Richard made sure we were on the best route there and back. We had plenty time to see the key areas but you also have the option to stay longer if you want to take more time.I would highly recommend this tour guide.

Ask questions to keep tour guide around more. Don’t get separated going back to Berlin. Train messed up had to take bus back. Big language barrier not knowing German and nothing in another language

Thank you for your feedback! We’d like to clarify a few points regarding your tour. The change from train to bus was not due to a malfunction, but because a bomb disposal was taking place on the usual train line. Our guide chose the best alternative to ensure the group could continue the tour comfortably and safely.
We’re not sure what you mean about everything being in German, as the tour you booked and joined was in English. Public transport in Germany operates in German, which is beyond our control, so following the guide is the best way to stay together and not get separated.

It was a very interesting, informative and moving trip. Our guide was fantastic & very knowledgeable. We really learnt a lot about the concentration camp and the world history leading up to and following World Wars 1& 2. Our guide Richard was very patient and articulate.

A very informative and thought provoking experience. Philippe, our tour guide, was really knowledgeable and everything ran very smoothly. He provided great background knowledge and was able to answer any questions. Just to note as it wasn’t very clear, the tour met at the World Time Clock in Alexanderplatz from 8:45.

The staff was wonderful to work with. Our tour guide, Felipe was most accommodating. The day was very cold especially if you are from Florida and most of the day was outside. Many tour groups were there so it got a little congested inside any building. Our group was pretty young and could move swiftly from bus to tram to train and walking up and down stairs. If you’re 80 it’s very hard to keep up. If The tour guides would point out elevators to help those who need them, it would be helpful.

We really enjoyed the tour overall, and our guide was very knowledgeable and informative. However, at times he shared personal opinions and political views more than we expected, which distracted a little from the experience.
As tourists, we found the German train system a bit confusing. Although we purchased tickets, we didn’t realise we needed to validate them before boarding. Unfortunately, after travelling just one stop, all five of us were stopped by a conductor and each received a €60 fine for fare evasion. The guide did his best to help resolve the situation, but the transport authorities were not very helpful, as the fines hadn’t yet been processed.
It would be helpful if future tours included clear, explicit guidance about using local transport systems to avoid similar issues. Despite this, we still found the tour enjoyable and informative.

I would highly recommend this tour, very heavy going due to the nature of the atrocities but a tour that must be seen. Our tour guide Peter was absolutely amazing and deserves a 5 star +. His knowledge was unbelievably superb (Wikipedia does not have a look in). If I go back to Berlin I would love to go on other tours with Peter being our guide. The duration of the tour was perfect and at a very reasonable price. Keep up the excellent work Viator.

We arrived early/ prior to our set arrival time (9am arrival for a 9:30 start). We contacted our guide as we were looking for them, however no response, until 10mins after the meeting time, expressing that they had left.
We were then told to ‘find our own way there’, and when we arrived to look for a ‘tall black man’ with no specific location or instruction. We encountered no ‘tall black man’, thus a complete waste of our day, time and money. We can never get our time back but at least we can get our money back for services not rendered, with the exception of the inconvience and disappointment caused. At no point prior to arrival did anyone specify who we were meeting, or what to look out for except to be at the meeting point, in which we were.
We witnessed many other tour groups with clear identifiable characteristics, such as yellow umbrellas.
Overall, really disappointed, and would like my money back ASAP. I’ve requested a refund, however it’s been declined AND with no reasoning or explanation. Severely disappointment and believe that this tour is a SCAM.

The tour departed as scheduled at 09:30 with over 40 participants. As always, we strongly recommend arriving at least 15 minutes in advance to ensure a smooth check-in and to avoid any last-minute confusion.
On the day of the tour, there were two groups operated by Buendía — one in English and another in Spanish — and both guides were clearly identified with company credentials. Additionally, your booking voucher includes a link with the exact meeting point and detailed instructions to help you locate the group.
We’re sorry to hear that you were unable to connect with the guide, but the service was provided as planned. While we regret that you were unable to enjoy the experience, we must reiterate that the tour was delivered in full.

Phillipe was a great guide. Lots of knowledge and passion for his subject. We picked this tour because it is advertised as approx 4 hours. We found this misleading as it didn’t include the hour each way travelling time, taking us closer to 6 hours. It was our last day in the city so please bear this in mind if you have travel plans the day of the tour. You should update your information to closer to 6 hours. And the google maps reference point took us to the wrong meeting place and we nearly missed the whole thing. Worth putting in local landmark like meet outside the u station exit next to the park inn!

I took this tour 5 yrs ago. It was seamless and our tour guide was outstanding. This trip was less so. We met at Alexabderplatz which added 30 min to the trip. Our tour guide gave us info but then told us over and over she could not go in and we were late so take 10 min or 5 min. Felt rushed.

Rafael was our tour guide and I can’t say enough good things. As a trained historian, he did a great job relaying the information about the camp while taking out biases. So many recountings about historical events are so slanted, it’s hard to tell the full truth, but not with Rafael. He was respectful, gave trigger warnings when applicable and relayed the cold hard truth. I would say the focus was on what we can learn and take away from this atrocity in history.

So much history and information, Walid took his time to get to know us and answer questions, and his descriptions saved us a lot of reading around the site!
The train was stress free, we walked at a gentle pace and had the opportunity to stop and sit down, or take in the museums at our own pace.

This company is a scam. For your own sake, please book with anyone but this company, if I could give them 0 stars I would. After arriving 15 minutes early to the ‘pick up point’ they provided, I messaged the tour guide asking where everyone was, I had no response. Once it reached the time we were supposed to be leaving, I messaged the guide again asking where everyone was, I had no response. 15 minutes later I messaged the guide again and asked if we were still going and could someone please get in contact as it had been 45 minutes, I had no response. After giving up, I contacted Viator to see if I could get through to them where I then received a message from the Guide to say they had left and I would not receive a refund as it was my fault I didn’t go on the tour. Thankfully (after some conflict), I have received a refund through Viator as they agree the situation was out of my control; the company refused to refund anything. The company made no effort to get in contact with us and were extremely unprofessional in the situation.

The guide, Lucia, was exceptional. The organization (Buendia) was not my favorite. The meetup point was unclear and the company was difficult to get ahold of, and they do not give any signs to their host for guests to easily locate. When I was able to finally reach them (they called me!), they could not provide any clear detail on where to meet up and I had to keep asking them to repeat themselves because I could hear other representatives on the phone next to them speaking loudly. I traveled to the location on my own and met up with the group and guide there.
The tour was excellent and Lucia was full of knowledge and information. She was also approachable, kind, and made sure that after the tour we all knew how to get back.

Jonas our guide was very informative and efficient. He provided us with lots of information throughout the tour and answered everyone’s questions with ease. He obviously has extensive knowledge.
It was easy to spot the tour meeting spot at Alexanderplatz and Jonas made sure we all knew which transport links we needed for our journey.

Our guide was fantastic. There was some rail issues and we had to take different, longer train(s) to arrive. There was a group which was being transported by a bus from the departure point which I would recommend for anyone with any mobility issues. We had less time at the camp due to the metro issues but our guide was great and we enjoyed visiting the camp and learning the history.

I’m traveling from Florida to Berlin, and due to hurricane Helene my flight was delayed a few times, pushing my arrival date two days later. In that timeframe I had this tour booked. I reached out and they denied modifying my reservation, because I didn’t give them 24 hours notice. Skip this tour - horrible company practice
