Wally was a fantastic tour guide. He was very informative and a great story teller. Really appreciated all the details we were given. It really gave us a good idea of the horrific things that happened at Sachsenhausen. The English and Spanish tour guides took turns offering information about what was seen while on the bus, but once we arrived at the destination we broke off into separate smaller groups. Make sure you eat breakfast or bring snacks on the bus, no opportunity for lunch until almost 2 pm.

This tour was super informative, and Peter was a great guide. The only slight downside was on the bus the Spanish and English guides took turns speaking. As some of the other reviews mentioned, it seemed like the Spanish guide did go into more details, but I don’t speak Spanish well enough to be certain that that was the case. While this tour didn’t feel too rushed, we definitely didn’t get to spend as much time as I wish we could have at Sachsenhousen.

Peter was an incredible guide! He was so knowledgeable and kept our interest as he helped us understand the atrocities that happened there. There were many crowds of visitors but Peter was able to make sure we saw everything and could hear all the information about this terrible time in history.

The tour itself was good. I already knew we wouldn't have a lot of time at both location so we knew the tour would feel rushed. However Roshana made this tour awful , a lot of us were very confused by her organization and the amount of information that was provided was minimal. I speak some Spanish so I could tell the Spanish guide went into so much more detail, explained the plan, and was thorough. But she one left us all confused by what the plan was, time management, and she struggled even with explaining basic history. It was even worse towards the end of the trip where she kept running off, rushing people, and we were left confused by what we were even doing. What was even more bizarre, she kept trying to send people away to a random cafe then take others to explore more areas. Her time management is awful. We were running late in both the camp memorial and the old town we just most of the time chasing after her. Since I already read the reviews previously I knew what to expect with the difference between Spanish and English group. But this was way worse than I expected. If we have a different guide, the rating would be higher. Unfortunately Roshana made it fully unenjoyable.

This was a deeply moving and thoughtfully curated day. My daughter and I spent the day visiting the concentration camp memorial and Potsdam, guided by Whalid, who was exceptional. He was highly knowledgeable, sensitive to the gravity of the sites, and able to explain the complex historical layers of Berlin and Germany with clarity and care. What stood out most was how attuned he was to our pace and needs — never rushed, always respectful, and willing to tailor the day so it felt both manageable and meaningful. Very informative regarding history of Berlin, Hitler and the Nazi’s (fascism) versus Stalin (communism) and early Empires shaped the city and global politics. Very educational about what happened at Sachsusenz… who was held there (when and why), the concept of concentration camp versus extermination, how and when the mindset changed from one to the other. Horrible time in world history that must never be forgotten. Guides were personable and thorough (Mattias and Roshana 👍🏻)

This was a great bus trip to two important locations. However, the experience on the bus was terrible. With 50% Spanish and 50% English both tour guides tried to provide commentary. The situation was made worse by a PA system that was unclear making it only possible to hear every other word.

Do a lot but too rushed due to the distances involved.
One does not actually enter the Palace, guess I did not read the description well enough. A shame to go all that way and not enter.
On the bus with 2 guides, one English speaking and one Spanish speaking, I was able to compare the comments, with the Spanish guide giving much more context and depth

Excellent quick tour of the camp and Potsdamer . The tour was very compact as there was too much to see and could not cover all there is to see. However, our tour guide, Peter, did an excellent job of explaining the main facts about the areas visited. We enjoyed the tour very much.
The only complaint I have is that we were combined with a Spanish tour group and the bus was therefore, packed full. Seating with your companion was not always available/possible.

Made my decision knowing what other reviews said. I expected to not go into buildings or the palace, but I didn’t realize how quickly we’d move through the two locations. No time for stopping really in order to stay with the group and hear the information. The guide, Peter, was excellent. He had many stories to share and I learned a lot. It is not a tour for folks who cannot do stairs (there are no railings) and there’s a LOT of walking so be prepared if you chose this tour. Also, you share the bus with the Spanish speaking group and the bus ride is mostly the Spanish guide talking. It’s not an even split. Overall I’m glad I did the tour, but if there was just a bit more I would’ve given it a 5.

It's a long 7-8 hour tour so make sure you have no other plans the day you book for. It was very informative and well worth the time and money. English and Spanish tours ride on the same bus and take turns narrating in each language, but split up at the sights. Whalid was great as our English tour guide and had a lot of interesting and entertaining things to say!

You get a superficial view of Sachsenhausen. If you want to spend meaningful time, choose a different tour. Same with Potsdam. You get a nice tour of the Sansouci grounds but nothing else. I thought I'd see more of Potsdam and have a 40min lunch. but lunch was 25minutes maximum. Everything felt rushed. An hour longer tour would have made a big difference.

The positive: Peter is knowledgeable and clearly loves giving tours and has a deep understanding of history.
Some of the reasons for the poor rating and caution to others taking this trip. One, your English speaking tour is paired with a Spanish speaking tour on the bus. Aa a result the other guide takes most of the time on the microphone and you miss out on so much. It was extremely frustrating.
Peter is knowledgeable but long on storytelling, results in less time to take in the places on the tour. You end up rushed. Again, extremely frustrating.
I can’t remember a time I didn’t tip a tour guide but this is one time I didn’t. Advice to tour company: charge more, get smaller buses and divide up groups even for traveling.
Also, the bus driver was rude. After our guide said we could pick up coffee or a drink before leaving for the next stop, the driver would not allow us on the bus with our drinks. We are not children and we paid for the tour.

Since everyone travels together on the same bus, the guides share the microphone and always do their best to balance the explanations fairly between both languages. At each stop, the visits are done in one language at a time, so everyone can enjoy and understand clearly.
About the drinks, the bus company has a policy that doesn’t allow eating or drinking onboard to keep the bus clean and comfortable for all passengers, including those who come after your group. We really appreciate your understanding on this! 🙏

Very moving visit to Sachsenhausen. Amazing to stand where such things happened. Potsdam lifted the spirits- such beautiful buildings. Would like to have seen more but time didn’t permit it. Lovely walk down to Potsdam town and along the Main Street. Our guide Peter was very knowledgeable and personable. Great tour.
