Overview

Perfect your photography skills with this half-day tour with a husband-and-wife photographer team. You'll take your own car and head out into the Blue Ridge Mountain region, home to beautiful viewpoints, forests, and waterfalls—great for nature photography. Your instructors will be on hand to teach you tricks of the trade and help you improve your skills.

Please bring sufficient water, snacks and any food you wish to have for the duration of your tour. On full-day tours, we take a 30-45 minute break for eating a picnic lunch/dinner.

Park and meet us near the right front entrance to the Ingles store. You may wish to use the restrooms inside the store before we depart on the tour. You will drive your own vehicle and follow along behind us. Be sure to have a full tank of gas.

Bonnie took us to gorgeous waterfalls & gave us landscape photography lessons on both a mirrorless camera with tripod & filters & also on a cellphone. Perfect for beginners & advanced levels. Best Birthday gift ever

Chris & Bonnie were an absolute pleasure! Don’t be intimidated if you’re traveling solo and/or you’re a novice photographer….I was both of those, still signed up & had learned so much! I used their tips/tricks the rest of my trip through Asheville as I hiked around and will continue to use their lessons moving forward! They took me to a number of really cool and diverse spots so I could experiment with different settings and test my skills. Would 10/10 highly recommend if you’re in the area and want to spend the day learning to snap photos nature (in a more professional way)!

Bonnie and her husband called me several days before the tour and we had a great conversation. They asked about my previous photography experience and wanted to know what I was interested in learning. On the day of the tour, Bonnie then met me at a convenient location and took me to some beautiful places to take photos and also learn more about my camera. She was a great teacher and we had a lovely time! She also recommended some apps to download and we had fun experimenting with those too. I not only learned a bunch, but I felt like I made a new friend. Very enjoyable and worthwhile experience!

I can’t tell you have much we enjoyed our time with Chris and Bonnie. As folks who have had an ongoing interest in photography but lacked some basic skills and confidence, we couldn’t have been more delighted with our experience. They took us from where we were, listened intently, and moved us to the next level of really loving this art form. With every new nugget they offered, we practiced and learned 10 more things. From Chris’s gentle, “Have you considered...” to Bonnie’s, “Look for the hero!” they were more than we could have hoped for to not just capture the beauty of these mountains but to give us the encouragement to keep going. We are so thankful for our time together!
