A professional Tour Guide from Continental City Tours will come pick your family up at the time your tour reservation at a hotel/restaurant/museum within the Washington D.C. National Mall/Downtown or the Arlington VA area. Please feel free to contact us with any questions about your pick up location and we are happy to verify on our end as sometimes the online system does not have all hotels listed or says it is outside the radius when it isn't- please just message/text us directly the address and we can confirm or recommend the nearest point. The reason for the pick up radius is to maximize your 4 hour tour time to dedicate to the tour itinerary/memorials and history. Your guide is the driver- he/she will remain in the vehicle and explain the history, significance, and more during your tour as you drive by many important buildings such as the National Archives, FBI Headquarters, Air and Space Museum and so much more! Your family will be able to step down and walk on the external grounds of the White House, the U.S. Capitol Building, explore and walk throughout the World War II Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial and so much more! We are more than happy to make changes/modifications to Memorials/Monuments during your tour. If you are driving or have a car, please send us a message so we can provide you an address to park your car for free either within D.C. (weekends) or near The Pentagon (weekdays), your guide would be able pick you up and take you back to your car at the end of the tour. Thank-you. We appreciate your support!
Itinerary
Your day begins with pickup from your centrally located Washington DC or Arlington, VA hotel.
Begin your tour at the President's Church and walk to the front of the White House. Then, from teh US Capitol, take in panoramic views of the National Mall.
After passing the Washington Monument, your next stop is the World War II Memorial, followed by Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial.
Two contrasting monuments are next: the Lincoln Memorial and the Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial.
Your next stop is the Arlington National Cemetery, the country’s largest military cemetery. Your tour includes a visit to John F. Kennedy's grave and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and you can also see the Changing of the Guard if you make a request beforehand.
U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial and the Korean War Veterans Memorial are the final two stops before your tour ends with drop-off back at your hotel.

Our tour guide Nick did a great job of making sure we saw the sites we were most interested in seeing during our tour time. We were traveling with our elderly mother so he made sure she was well taken care of and offered us options at each location for how to best help her see the sights of DC. During the time in the car we appreciated his knowledge of the various buildings and historical facts that he shared with us as we drove through the city. We would very much recommend this tour!

We had a wonderful tour of Washington, DC and would highly recommend it. Melinda was an extremely knowledgeable guide who shared interesting historical facts and local insights throughout the day. One of the things we appreciated most was the flexibility of the tour. We were able to tailor the itinerary to focus on the sights that interested us most.
The tour was very well organized and efficient. Melinda dropped us off at convenient locations near each attraction, which minimized walking and allowed us to see more in less time. Her professionalism, expertise, and attention to our preferences made the experience both enjoyable and stress-free.

Great way to see all the highlights of DC in a short amount of time. Well worth the price. Vehicle and guide were top notch.
My only knock is that there is a $50 upcharge when booking through Viator. You're paying for their cut because you found it through a search engine. If you contact the company directly you'll save $50.

Driving DC can be difficult - especially when you don't know where you are going! This wonderful experience allowed our family to enjoy the monuments without the stress of trying walk miles and miles or catch the metro over and over again when we don't know which bus ends up where!
We also learned a lot from Fiona, our guide. She was kind and made the experience a family friendly and fun time. We were able to see all of the sites we wanted to see.

We went for a 4 hour guided private tour as we were first timers in DC. This tour helped in getting a lay of the land but came at a price. Nick tried to accommodate our requests but felt that the tour was very rushed. We were also late to add to our poor planning, thanks to our aviation friends. This is a decent option to try out but if you have time and some research already done, this option is passable.
