Sara was so good so well informed and the backland history and linkages — superb
She gave us appropriate time to drink in surroundings before giving us more facts
Karen_B, May 2026
It was very informative. The only negative was I booked a private tour for 5 and we were put in a small group tour for 7 without being notified.
Response from Host, May 2026
Your reservation was for a small-group tour, not a private tour. We apologize for the confusion and reviewed our listing for accuracy and cannot find where it says private tour. If you have seen that listed somewhere please reach out at info@unscripted.city so we can ensure our listings are accurate and no one is misled.
We do not offer a private tour option on this tour but with your feedback showing interest in such, we will consider adding that as an option.

Definitely the way to see the museum because we were able to skip a loooong line outside and inside. Tony also gave very good additional insight on the documents. On the walk over we also got some bonus tour spots. Very knowledgeable.
Response from Host, May 2026
We're so glad our skip-the-line pass made the tour worth it - plus Tony makes all of his tours worth it!
Rebecca_V, Apr 2026
The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the Archive museum. She did a good job of answering questions and letting us have time to look at the US Constitution.
henry_D, Apr 2026
not to book with you. you are the middle man. Skye was runnig late so instead of meeting at 400 7th st. we were instructed to meet at Archives, but he had to go back and pick up others. got tired of waiting and just went inside. would like my money back.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Sorry you chose not to join your tour. We checked the text log and you did not respond to any of the communications from your guide, including where you were asked to confirm the meeting location. So you guide waited for you before beginning tour but you chose to leave before the tour start time.
Zoe_B, Apr 2026
This tour was the best. We learned so much that we would have not otherwise known. Dash knowledgeable, engaging and just a lot of fun!
Arlene_G, Apr 2026
It was an essential highlight of America celebrating 250 years of democracy and freedom made possible by our forefathers who declared the new country of independent thinking and ruling w/o a king. The tour guide provided remarkable insight to the Faulkner paintings and premier access to the exhibits, including the originalConstitution and Bill of Rights.

Our guide was Meg and she was outstanding. The place was jammed packed busy but Meg handled it well and got us right up to see the documents all of us Americans want to see. She had a tablet she used for additional info that made the tour that much better. Great tour, great price.
Nicole_O, Mar 2026
Wonderful tour. We got to see everything on our list and our guide took special care to engage with our young son and answer all of his questions. She was so knowledgeable.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Awesome! Thats what we love to hear!
Rachel_S, Mar 2026
Dash was the best guide! He was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We loved the skip the line aspect. So easy and saved so much time!
Michael_H, Mar 2026
VIP entry was magical as the line was quite long. Nice to hear background and history we wouldn’t have noticed. Thanks!

Best one hour tour in Washington DC of National Archives. It was packed full of great information. Dash from Unscripted Tours was our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and entertaining too! Wish we had him for a longer time. We drove in and found a parking garage right by our meeting point. It was very convenient. They contacted me by text before tour time and I got questions answered beforehand. Customer service was excellent. We will definitely use this tour company again next time in Washington.
Elena_F, Dec 2025
This was a fantastic way to see the historical documents. Our guide, James, was fantastic. We got to ask lots of questions and he was so informative about everything we saw and pointed out things I'm quite sure we would have missed. Finding Unscripted Tours has been a blessing for us on this trip.
Response from Host, Jan 2026
We love when we can help make a trip memorable for someone! That is our dream. The VIP Capitol Tour is designed to give more one-on-one time with your guide, ask more questions, and see more than any other tour!

Pam from Unscripted Guided Tours was, well amazing! So informative and provided such excellent information. Yes, she gets paid for the tour, but she personalizes the experience with background knowledge at every stop. The gentleman who met me at the office personifies customer service! I’m happy to use them again on Monday for the Ford Theatre/Lincoln Assassination Tour! Definitely worth every penny!
Response from Host, Jan 2026
This makes my day! We stride for this type of service with every guest and from every member of our team, which is an amazing team I will say. Make no mistake, Pam get paid to lead tours but it is very clear she leads tours because she loves them, and it shows as you pointed out. Thanks for joining us not just once, but coming back again. You are welcome in any time.

What a wonderful and educational tour. Our guide was great. There was so much to see there. I would highly recommend it.
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Definitely a lot to see! We try and make it easy to see the best artifacts and give lesser known history about the documents. Hope to see you again!
Stacey_H, Sept 2025
Our tour of the National Archives was fantastic! Andrew was a wonderful tour guide—knowledgeable, engaging, and full of fascinating details that brought U.S. history to life. The small, intimate group made it feel personal and allowed plenty of time for questions and conversation. Seeing the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and all the Amendments in such an up-close and meaningful way was unforgettable.
Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting D.C.!
Response from Host, Sept 2025
I truly enjoyed having you! Having a small group means we can see and do so much! You made my job a lot of fun and I hope to see you again!
Laurie_C, Sept 2025
It helped so much to understand pieces of history we had not known. Shane was absolutely the best. Not everyone in our group wanted a guide- everyone was so happy to meet and listen to Shane.
Response from Host, Sept 2025
I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed yourselves with me! It was a lot of fun enjoying the Archives and American History museum together. I hope it was both enlightening and entertaining to engage with American history. -Shane
Michael_M, Sept 2025
Meg was great. She was excited and enthusiastic about history. As it turned out we say VP Mike Pence there. She was very knowledgeable about all that we saw.
Response from Host, Sept 2025

A great tour, very informative and delivered at just the right pace. Dash our tour guide was brilliant, extremely knowledgeable with a great sense of humour. We highly recommend adding the American history museum tour, which Dash also accompanied us

Excellent experience! Rett our guide was awesome - super knowledgeable - great sense of humor and polite- was a better experience than we anticipated HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Well worth the price
Stephanie_A, Aug 2025
What a great tour guide we had with Ryan. A local young man who grew up in D.C. and very knowledgeable on all the monuments. We didn’t wait in line at all to get into The Washington Monument.
Sarah_R, Jul 2025
Dash was awesome! Full of interesting information and a great sense of humor. Totally worth it. Will do it again next time we are in town.
Dean_P, Jun 2025
It's a short walk to the Archives building, so you get to see the outside of the beautiful building.
Inside, you skip the lines to see the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights up close in the Rotunda. Christina explained the murals on the wall very well.
We also saw a version of the Magna Carta with an explanation by Christina.
At the end of the hour, we were free to stay in the Archives to look at whatever we wanted to see or see again. There is also an extensive shop at which we could purchase souvenirs.
It was a very good tour, and Christina was a very knowledgeable guide.
Heather_G, May 2025
What an amazing experience. Our tour guide Shane was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Highly recommend a private tour.
Matthew_T, Apr 2025
Extremely professional and thorough organization. Our host, Claudia, was phenomenal. Friendly, extremely knowledgeable and fun to spend time with. We’ll be back for sure.
Jina_G, Apr 2025
Meg was our tour guide and she was excellent with getting us over to see the documents, giving us every morsel of history in a fun way and was very engaging. Would definitely recommend a tour with her again!
Robert_G, Apr 2025
The tour was good and informative. We thought we would be waiting for our tour guide outside the Archives, only to find out that that we had to meet at their office and then we walked back to the Archives. Seems like it would have been better to meet our guide at the site of the tour.
Response from Host, Apr 2025
Often people find it difficult to locate a guide outside a building that takes up an entire block with hundreds of people around no matter how detailed we make our meeting directions. That is why we are proud to offer an actual storefront where guests can easily find their guide and wait inside for the full group to arrive instead of standing on a street corner, where you can charge your phones and enjoy free water before your tour.
Robin_K, Apr 2025
We really enjoyed our tour! Our tour guide, Mona, was so knowledgeable and really enhance pad the experience of visiting the archives. We wouldn’t have gotten nearly as much out of it without her explanations and things to notice. We saw the Magna Carta, Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and countless other impressive historical documents. Highly recommend visiting the archives with a tour guide.
Elizabeth_H, Apr 2025
Shane was our tour guide and he navigated us through exhibits with ease and knowledge. Would see his tours out again.
PAUL_F, Apr 2025
Kirsten was knowledgeable about the subject matter and related historical topic, and very entertaining! A very enjoyable experience 😊
