Charge Up☺️
Definitely start with a full charge on your phone and ear buds. We made it to the end of the walk but just barely. We learned a lot! We stopped the narration here and there to visit longer and were able to pick it up again.

Charge your phone!!!
This tour involves so much walking so wear comfortable shoes and bring water. At some points where you are supposed to go is a bit confusing but overall you see most of it by following the audio guides directions. You do use your own phone as your audio guide so make sure that you have a charged phone.

Excellent tour guide
Our guide Zoe, also known as Mercy Otis, was excellent and very informative. We learned a lot! Loved her stories! One suggestion we have is for her to carry a flag; on the very crowded streets it was difficult to follow her. Tim and Barb Melloy

Great historical...
Great historical component! Loved the storytelling. Might be a tad boring for kids who aren’t yet into history. But it’s also short enough that they can manage.

  • Freedom Trail tickets for public walking tours purchased online must be printed.

  • The Black Heritage Trail, featuring sites significant to African American history, intersects the Freedom Trail at the monument to the 54th Regiment on Beacon Street.

  • Most choose to walk from site to site rather than drive. Remember to wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes.

  • Though the Freedom Trail itself doesn’t charge admission, fees are required to enter some of the designated stops: the Old State House, the Old South Meeting House, and the Paul Revere House.

  • Self-guided audio tours are available for purchase at the Boston Common Visitor Center.

  • While the Freedom Trail is wheelchair-accessible, some of the sites are not.

  • It’s best to allot at least 30 minutes inside each Freedom Trail site.
