What a FANTASTIC TOUR with our driver/tour guide AUGUST (Oahu Grand Circle Island and Haleiwa Tour). August was great 100%; very knowledgeable, professional, (( was traveling Solo with a group of people I did not know prior to tour) and August offered on ALL stops to take pictures of me "capturing the landscape, signs, etc. We had a delicious lunch at Tanaka's Shrimp Shack and August had me find a table, sit down and he picked up my lunch from counter up front and brought to me along with drink. August was helpful to the other passengers as well but showed a genuine caring interest with me because I was traveling along. All the tour spots we stopped at were so beautiful, interesting and awesome views. I learned SO MUCH while on the tour with August. I plan to travel to Oahu again and I would definitely book this same tour again. Thank you SO MUCH August for a wonderful tour!!!

The tour covered a lot of ground. The tour guide was knowledgeable and provided many interesting facts & details.
That you do have the chance to experience the stops to decide if you want to return. I was looking forward to one visit Haleiwa but instead of being given one hour and a chance to snorkel we were dropped off for an hour and half. We had been experiencing off and on weather! We stood in a fairly heavy rain all the while another couple tried to get hold of our guide, Henry, to come back and get us. The dispatcher said she called him 3 times and no answer!! There were several of us huddled under a small roof area! I asked Henry about Haleiwa and was told the map in the bus was an old one and we wouldn’t be going!
Overall, the tour was good and showed us so much of the island. Enjoyed the stops at Diamond Head Crater, the Halona Blowhole, the macadamia nut farm, the Chinaman's Hat, seeing the turtles, Haleiwa and the Dole Plantation. Our tour guide, Leena, was a local and had so much history to share about the culture. Plenty of places to use a restroom if you needed one too.
The downside was this was easily a 12-hour tour that could have been pared down to 8 or 9 hours easily. Too many stops that offered the same type of products (macadamia nuts, fresh fruit, coffee, etc.). I have a feeling the tour provider gets a kick back from stopping at these places as there were MANY. I would have preferred to do less of those types of stops and more of the sightseeing areas.
We were asked by the tour provider to be ready for 7am and the tour guide was late. She did call me to let me know she would be late. We then proceeded to drive around Waikiki for an hour in a repetitive loop until we could pick up passengers from the cruise terminal. It may have been better to have picked up the cruise ship passengers first and then everyone from the hotels in Waikiki last. Also, you could barely hear the tour guide on the intercom in the bus which made people towards the back of the bus to not hear her.
We were picked up around 7:15am at the ABC Store and brought back directly to our hotel just before 7 pm. We were exhausted. Good thing we had a beach day planned the next day because we needed it!
Tour itself seemed to follow the same route of other tours. The drawback was the driver/guide who was rude and not very informative throughout the tour. The guide either makes or breaks the tour and in this case he made it one of the worst tours I've been on.
Pick up waiting time is too long, ask us waiting outside on other hotel before 7:15 am, and actually pick up us after 8:30am. It is unacceptable,and not happy at all.
This was just a big drive around the island. For the first hour there was no narration by the driver/guide due to the speaker system not working. A replacement head set was delivered and for the next hour all we could hear was screeching through the sound system. At no time could anyone understand anything the guide said. He was driving hard and hitting speed humps too fast causing pain to passengers. All everyone wanted on the trip was to get home. I had 2 days in Hawaii and totally wasted one of the on this trip. Phoned the provider Aloha Sundhine tours with no response. DO NOT USE THIS TOUR COMPANY.
This review is more on the tour operator, Aloha Sunshine Tours, than Viator. First, when booking we were told they would pick us up at the Hale Koa even though we couldn’t select it as our pick up location at booking and we just had to contact the tour operator and let them know we were staying at the Hale Koa. When we did that, they told us they wouldn’t be able to pick us up there and we could do ABC Stores at the Hilton resort next door. Well we’re also traveling with family and they accidentally picked a location that’s a 10 minute uber from our hotel. Cut to the day before our tour and our pick up time was moved from 9 AM to 7:30 AM at a location that was a 3-minute walk from a hotel we weren’t staying at. We were finally able to get through to the operator on the phone and they moved our pickup to the Hilton next door because the person on the phone said they can’t pick up at the Hale Koa, which we were fine with. They called back a few minutes later and all of a sudden said they’d pick us up at the Hale Koa at 7:05 AM. Cut to the tour itself….The bus that we were provided was a death trap. The suspension was shot so we bounced around all over the place. The emergency exit windows weren’t secured in place properly and were popping out of the frame. The tires were going bald and were cracked. That bus was not safe to be on the road in any situation. The driver, Leean was also unsafe and didn’t seem to keep the bus within the lanes on the way. Additionally she kept stating how much money things cost, pointing out million dollar homes with a “Them vs. Us” mentality that shouldn’t have been brought into a tour. There wasn’t much about the history of some of the stops, plus there were audio tap stops made that made the tour longer than needed. Not to mention that we could barely hear what she was saying over the rattling of the bus. She also almost left without some tour members. Others on the tour even opted to leave in an Uber along the way just with how the tour was being managed and the condition of the bus. We’re going to stay away from anything that Aloha Sunshine Tours does.
we missed our tour because viator gave us the incorrect pick up times. They told us that we needed to contact the local tour operator but no where in any of the email or paperwork did it say that!! It only said to contact the local tour operator for any questions. I even spoke with someone on the phone regarding this tour and they told be the tour times but again never mentioned contacting anyone for a more accurate pick up time. We showed up for our tour 20 min early too.
Now the tour itself was good but viator sure stinks as the middle man.
All day tour had multiple stops, 4 of which were beaches. Stops were limited to 15 to 30 minutes. Felt very rushed at each stop
The tour bus was very uncomfortable and rattled like it would fall apart. Sound system was terrible. We could barely hear the driver. Vehicle needs replacing. The driver was knowledgeable when we could hear her

This should only be a max 5 hour tour as it was more about beach stops than history. It wasn’t what was expected. I just want to say this was not the tour guide’s fault. We did a lot of beach and eat stops but I only learned a little about Oahu. I believe that if several of the beach stops were eliminated and replaced with more monument stops this would be a better tour.

Firstly picked up at 7.30 at Waikiki.not a problem till we had to go to pick up from cruise ship so didn't start tour till after 9.00am. 1hr 30 mins wasted.Perhaps picking up cruise people is a bad idea.Great tour around island saw amazing things except for the temple which the driver said was closed.Driver was great and did everything possible to make a great experience even though the office had not given him a itinerary or headphones ,so we had to sort that with the driver

It started off with the driver being almost 2 hours late for pickup. Every time one of us in the group waiting would call for updates, a different reason was given to each. When asked about compensation, only got excuses. When we did start the tour, the bus was so hot until someone in the back complained, and all she had to do was turn it on. She would talk about things on the tour, without using her microphone, so no one from half the bus and back could hear her. Not all things on the tour were visited. It was just very disappointing.

Unfortunately our experience was similar to other poor reviews. Was picked up nearly 2 hours after our scheduled time, the bus was miserably hot for the first couple of hours, thankfully the air was intermittently on after that, but we didn’t exactly stick to the listed stops on the itinerary. We didn’t get to the lunch stop until 2pm, and then by the time we got to the planned swimming beach most of the passengers were feeling very disappointed and over the experience and no one swam, much less snorkeled. It seemed like that beach and the dole plantation were meant to be the main points of the tour so it seemed a waste that it was essentially skipped.
Because the microphone wasn’t working well, we didn’t hear most of what the tour guide was saying so we didn’t know where we were any time we stopped or the significance of anything. What we did get to hear clearly was a lot of political or conspiracy opinions, which is not exactly what you expect on a history/culture/sightseeing tour.
While the views we did stop at were nice, it ended up feeling more like we bought a very expensive bus ticket than a well planned tour. I think the experience would be much improved if there were separate driver and tour guides as it seems difficult to give a good tour whilst focusing on driving. Our guide did seem very knowledgeable and seemed to point out a lot of things along the way, unfortunately like I said it wasn’t understandable through the speaker system.

The trip took us around Hawaii in an air conditioned van. It was fast
Paced and timed. Only 10-15 at each location but enough time to get pictures. Able
To swim with turtles. We had up to 90 minutes and was great to just sit in the shade

Received a call on Monday from the actual tour company that the pick up location had changed for our friday tour. So friday we got to new pick up location, lots of other tour buses came and went, nobody had our name. After being there an hour, I reached out to viator, they said it was their fault for not confirming our reservation and had to cancel our tour. I was given a refund, but still disappointing. This was on viator not the tour company.

Great tour if you want to see a lot of Oahu. The tour takes all day and has lots of stops. There are many opportunities to purchase souvenirs along the way.
Our driver was very knowledgeable, although she was hard to hear and understand through the headset, so we missed a lot of information. The bus had loose windows that rattled loudly, which also made it hard to hear.

Our tour guide was quite political and it was getting to a point of ridiculous and unnecessary. We were taken to a beach where we had to walk through a homeless camp to get to brackish water to swim in. There were many beautiful beaches along the way but this was the one she chose. It did have turtles swimming, but we could not see them due to the murky water. The lunch however was superb! Apart from our host being b political her knowledge on fauna was incredible.

10/10 for our driver Keith. He does this as a side hustle to his main job and did a really good job at showing us all of the best sights but also giving us time to enjoy it as well. I will say, he had patience through the technical difficulties. They gave him no mic and half of the speakers did not work. Half the guests on board were angels and the other half I would say not pleasant at all.

This was a really great tour that shows you the island outside of Waikiki. Our tour leader was friendly, and very knowledgeable of the island and its history. The itinerary itself is kind of loose based on weather and other factors but we still hit the main spots. There were plenty of opportunities to shop, and the lunch spot was DELICIOUS! Definitely recommend for those wanting to get a full experience of the island.

We were so lucky to have such an amazing guide. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and professional, and she really made sure everyone felt comfortable and had a great experience throughout the entire tour. She gave us so many helpful recommendations and interesting information about the island.
What I loved most about this tour is that it felt like we got to see the very best landscapes of Oahu all in one day. The views were absolutely breathtaking! Even though the weather wasn’t perfect and we unfortunately couldn’t do the snorkeling, I was still extremely happy with the experience.
The timing and organization of the tour were excellent, and the food was delicious! Everything was very well planned and comfortable from beginning to end.
And I absolutely love my souvenir — the Exotic Hawaiian Flower Calendar! 🌺 Such a beautiful and thoughtful gift 😀
