Ideally, visitors should set aside three days to explore Zion National Park. This is ample time to hike, tour on Zion Canyon Scenic Drive, and try horseback riding, biking, or canyoneering. In addition to the main section of the park, visitors can also explore the separate Kolob Canyons.

Q: Do I need a reservation to enter Zion National Park?

No. Reservations are not required to enter Zion National Park, but visitors must pay the National Park fee or have a pass to enter. While the park is open to explore, permits may be needed for overnight backpacking, hiking Angels Landing, and for some technical activities, such as canyoneering.

Q: When should you not go to Zion National Park?

To avoid crowds, skip Zion in June and July, when the park hosts more than 500,000 visitors monthly. The winter months of December–February see fewer than 150,000 monthly visitors, but there's the possibility of snow, cold nights, and limited access. Spring and fall, however, are good bets.

It was well worth the drive out to Utah! Jason, our tour guide, did an incredible job being prepared and ready to go for our tour group! The drive was smooth sailing there and back as you leave early enough and go back at a decent time. The scenery and sights are jaw dropping and make your heads turn! Right now, I would say Zion national park is my favorite after the Grand Canyon and Yosemite!

It’s a wonderful excursion to explore the beauty of nature. Itah, our driver & tour guide , gave such a wealth of info., very accommodating , knowledgeable . He even gave us tips & hints on taking pictures, navigating our iPhone, very concern about safety of all of us, giving us the do’s & don’t while on the ground. We had a great time! ( not so great ride - not enough leg room & seat control , not so user friendly but was a nice Benz Sprinter).

Great Experience

It was great to see two major parks in two days and no having to drive. The driver was experienced, knowledgeable about the parks, answered lot if questions the guest had. Offered water and frequent breaks to use the rest room or grab a bite. The experience was epic, plenty of time to do a hike in each park and stop at multiple lookouts to take photos.

Great experience. Beautiful hike through the narrows (gorgeous) and guide provided appropriate gear and lead us on best paths through. Moises was very personable and family loved him - good stories, really helpful, and always made sure to take stops and take family pictures. Being the family member that often takes the pictures, it was great to actually be in some of them this time (thanks Moises). The lunch break was also a nice experience to get time to appreciate everything.
