Luigi was one of the highlights of our trip! He was informative, respectful of our time and interests, interesting, knew local spots and people and hidden gems. He was a great driver on the crazy Amalfi coast and a true joy to listen to and engage with during our time with him. Sorrento was a dream, Positano was simply stunning and Amalfi was gorgeous. Our driver, Eugene, was more than fantastic! We had only a short time in port while on a cruise ship and he took us to the town of Ravello. A great excursion!

This was a well-organized excursion. Both our guide and driver were top notch. Herculeum or Pompeii?

Having been to Pompeii twice, I wanted to see and compare it to Herculeum. First I was surprised how much closer Herculeum is to Naples. It is surrounded by a neighborhood about the size of a city block and much below the surface of the surrounding city. Some of it is much better preserved than what you will see at Pompeii. Artifacts like jewelry and furniture are beautifully preserved and surprisingly not much different from what use. One thing that I didn’t like about Herculeum is that some of the buildings are being restored rather than just recovered. Tile roofs are being added in some places. So to me it’s a little deceiving. But it is worth seeing. It is different from Pompeii. I am glad I got to see it but if you only had time to see one - I would choose Pompeii.

Salerno and Pompeii day tour

The tour guide Nima was at the port gate with our name , was knowledgeable and very pleasant . Was attentive to travellers who needed extra assistance with canes and walkers . The driver Josepa was an A-1 driver, though it was raining through our drive on winding uphill roads, he was excellent in manoeuvring the bus. They suggested a great restaurant for lunch and took us around the town and gave the background of all areas of interest. In Pompeii, Nima had another guide walk us through the ruins and gave us the highlights in the 2 hours we had available before we needed to be at the dock. Nima had bottles of water for all passengers and also a token gift of magnets from Salerno , what a wonderful experience made so much better by pleasant and knowledgeable tour guides. Thank you Nima and wishing you the best !

We only had one day so we...

We only had one day so we packed it all with this tour of Pompeii and Capri. It was really easy to find the driver from the pick up spot. Most of the time honestly was spent transiting from ferry to funicular back to the ferry, then the bus. So much travel! However, it was a great time! Our tour guide Daniel gave clear explanations of what to expect, how much free time we had in Capri, sorted all the ferry tickets! In Pompeii, be prepared to walk a lot! Our guide was an archeologist and had deep knowledge of Pompeii. It was very interesting. I definitely enjoyed it!
