Michela, our tour operator, was great. She gave us a lot of insight into the street food origins and types. It was a fun tour and we ate a variety of dishes at very good places.

We booked a food tour in Naples when our ship was in port and we were waiting at the spot and no one showed up. My husband called and was told the tour was cancelled. We were never notified ahead of time or we would have done something else. We have used Viator many, many times over the years and was very disappointed—please notify guests ahead of time and don’t make them reach out. Having said that—we went to plan B on our own and had a great day. When we got back to the ship-we did have our refund on the way.
Please don’t use third party companies if they can’t keep up their part of the deal. It’s a let down for others and doesn’t look good for you. Having said that-we will probably book something else with your company at another time.

Great food tour of Naple!
The Guide was informative too!
Suggestion: Guide should have a sign Viator Tour or Flag etc.. the meeting location is a large area and we asked other tour guides, who tried to help us find our tour guide but they couldn’t too.
We were lucky to see our guide by accident
It would have been sad to have missed the tour.

Our tour guide Ricardo did not really offer any information regarding the history/culture of the food unless we specifically asked him questions. He walked very fast in front of us without engaging us in conversation at all until we would get to the place we were going I felt like we were on a race.

We’ve been on quite a few food tours, and unfortunately, this one takes the title of the worst we’ve experienced — both in terms of food quality and the caliber of the guide. She simply walked us from one tasting stop to the next with almost no explanation of what we were eating. Aside from two brief historical stops, there was little context or storytelling. It felt like we were interacting with an AI — knowledgeable when prompted, but offering nothing unless directly asked. We’ve left her name out, hoping she gains confidence and improves with more experience.

Great way to learn about the city and interesting history of its food. Easy walk through the amazing streets with Riccardo who could answer any questions we had. Neat variety of street food stops for any palate. You will be pleasantly stuffed by the end! Would recommend!

The experience overall was ok. Our guide highlighted the major foods of the city & was knowledgeable. He showed up a few minutes late without signage or much presence, which would have been helpful as we started to get nervous when we couldn’t find him by the meeting time. I’ve been on my fair share of food tours around the world and this was mediocre for the price in my opinion. The pizza was delicious and authentic, for the most part all the food was good. My only complaint was that the seafood fritta was cold & that each person had to choose between a coffee & desert instead of reviewing both.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Riccardo. We had foods that are unique to Napoli and enjoyed them all. We walked at a very easy pace while Riccardo gave a history of the city and the food we were trying. It was a great value. I highly recommend this tour and Riccardo Agostini.

We had a excellent street food tour of Naples with Brunela. We were lucky and fortunate in that we happened to be the only booking for the tour so it unexpectedly turned into a private tour. This worked very well to our advantage as it was much easier to get seating in all the establishments we visited. Brunela was a wealth of knowledge and very friendly. It was awesome to go through the narrow streets and walkways & make fun discoveries. We can't believe how much food the tour includes and we were absolutely stuffed by the time we finished - go hungry and dodge breakfast lol! We visited a fabulous deli for a chacuterie plate, ate some Cuoppo (a cone of deep friend delicacies from land or sea), had some Neapolitan pizza, some tarallo and finally some decadent baba - cake soaked in rum. A great tour and highly recommend

Great experience. Micky was our guide and she's extraordinary. She's well versed, personable, knowledgeable, articulates well. Micky had several options of tasting on the tour. None disappointed! Some local beers as well. Great touch with desert. Had a great time, learned plenty of history about the area and foods. I highly recommend Micky, she's a gem to have as your tour leader and guide. Thank you for making our 1st experiences in Napoli amazing!!!!

We had the most AMAZING time in Naples with Ciro as our guide. He was so knowledgeable and awesome to hang out with for a few hours. He took us to 5 different spots which were all so delicious. 100% recommend to anyone wanting to experience Naples in an authentic way. Small group and lots of food!

Ciro was our tour guide. Fantastic knowledge of the city, history, and the food origins. We had 5 stops and got a great taste of everything. Loved the opportunity to ask questions and get a well balanced opinion from a local. Very impressed with the food selections (businesses), they may have been local street food but all high quality! Guide was very good with our 12yo and 9yo kids and made sure to listen to preferences and yet still try new things

Frederica our guide was not a foodie person, she had no passion for food. We followed her around the city at a snails pace to sample 5 dishes. She did not point out any facts about the city, we walked in pretty much silence. Stop one was for a traditional savoury pastry, and we were dissapointed to see the cafe/bakery was a chain bakery. Also as a group of 7 strangers, why did she purchase only 3 bottles of water? Another stop for ragu was sadly again at a chain restaurant, we had to wait nearly 30 mins for this course which I would have thought should have been ready since it is supposed to cook all day? Again you were lucky to be offered a drink. There was no organisation, no prearranged stops, a lot of waiting around with no chat from the guide. She was actually quite miserable & dull and absolutely not a foodie person. A very poor experience and out of 20 ish food tours I have done all over the world, this was, by far, the worst.

While a few of them may have expanded to more than one location, they remain family-run or locally operated businesses that are beloved by Neapolitans. Tandem, for example, where you had the ragù, is one of the city’s most appreciated spots, known for its authentic flavors and commitment to traditional cooking.
As for the wait times, we understand how frustrating that can be. Please know that your tour took place during the very busy Easter holiday period, which may have affected service speed despite our usual arrangements with the venues.
We also take your comments about the group logistics seriously and will be reviewing things like water provision and communication throughout the experience.

We owe all the good things about our Naples trip to Ciro. We arrived in the area via cruise and to be honest we initially were not too keen about the place. But our experience picked up as soon as we did the food walking tour with Ciro. Very funny guy and his passion with Neapolitan food was truly something to be admired. The best food for us is the ragu pasta. I personally prefer the creamy pasta but that tomato ragu was something special that I might be reconsidering now. Haha! Thank you Ciro for making our experience special!
