We had Ceaser as our...
We had Ceaser as our guide and he was extremely knowledgeable and had great energy throughout the tour. The cocoa plantation is beautiful and would highly reccomend this tour to anyone wanting to learn the history and process of cocoa. We tried lots of chocolate, hot chocolate and made bonbons. We had a wonderful time!

It’s worth having a guide!
Angelica gave us a wonderful tour. Beautifully paced. Appreciated her use of a high powered telescope and making sure everyone in our group got to see the animals, ask questions and get lots of great pictures
It’s worth wearing good sturdy walking shoes. I’d say it’s more than 50% uphill. Angelica made several stops to give us great local info.
Loved that we were able to go BACK through after the tour ended to take a few of the offshoot paths.

Don't miss this incredible experience
Amazing tour guide, Brian! He was incredibly funny and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The tour was very well planned and organized, and everything flowed smoothly from one stop to the next. Learned a lot about coffee and cocoa beans. Definitely come hungry because there are plenty of delicious snacks along the way, not just chocolate or coffee. There was a really cool crowd on the tour too, which made it even more fun. At the end we got to spend quality time hanging out and chatting, and we were not rushed out at all. It felt relaxed and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.

Awesome experience and education
Awesome experience overall. The guide was himself an ex farm worker so he knew all the details very well. We tasted multiple chocolates from 100% coco to 60/40 coco/milk/sugar and many variations between. Same with Coffee. Multiple samples of coffee as well. We also saw and sampled Sugarcane juice and rum. The gift shop was nice. I would highly recommend Northfield for the great education and experience for Coffee and Chocolate tour.

Awesome experience
Guides are great and educating. At the beginning of trip I couldn’t spot the animals way up in the trees but about halfway through, I was spotting them with the naked eye! But they do bring a telescope to look through. The coffee and chocolate was delicious. I wish they had a large enough operation to sell their chocolate! But they have very good brands in the gift shop.

As someone who isn’t much...
As someone who isn’t much of a fan of chocolate or coffee I still loved the knowledge gained from this tour. We even got to make our own chocolate and add what ingredients we wanted which was a pleasant surprise. Plenty of coffee and chocolate to taste and so cool to learn about the whole process and how things are different in Costa Rica

Best tour!
I was spoilt that i was the only person on the tour so I got a 1:1 experience, which was incredible. The guide (Alex) was top level with his knowledge, his super powers to find the smallest animals in the dark and best of all, he found me a sloth that was on the move and was about 2mtrs away from me. His knowledge on the plants and animals around the farm was expert level and loved learning how chocolate is made. Highly recommend this to anyone!

Views of the Rainforest are incredible!!
What an incredible way to see the Costa Rican rainforest!!! With 6 swaying bridges and 10 other bridges this park is one not to miss. It’s a 2 mile hike so bring a pack with water. Lots of hills so be prepared for your calves to burn! Parking lot is large, there are restrooms before you start the hike, small ice cream/smoothy place to grab a treat afterwards. The views of Arenal Volcano are STUNNING! Definitely a must do excursion!
