We saw so much in such a short time it was hard to believe! Great location with lots to see and Melvin was a great guide. He was pointing things out that we would have never noticed ourselves. He also got up close to take great photos with my phone. I couldn’t recommend this more!

This was an excellent experience! Our tour guide Jo was so patient, knowledgeable, and kind. We had our three young (noisy, excitable, hyperactive) children with us but Jo was so patient with them. We saw all kinds of frogs, insects, caimans, a snake, and even a sloth - way up close! We truthfully just booked this so we would have something fun to do on our arrival day, but I’m so glad we did it. My kids even said that the whole long day of travel was completely worth it because of the sloth :)

This is an interactive experience, with everyone looking for frogs, butterflies and lizards. If I did it again I would take my own binoculars as everyone trying to use the guides, can be difficult. Our guide was great and very cheerful, even when the heavens opened, he was sure the rain would stop. Sadly It didn’t and it’s very hard to see anything in a rain storm so out tour was cut short however the ticket does include a free return during the day on a self guided basis.

We did multiple night walks while we were in la fortuna so we have something to compare it against. What we really liked about this night walk is that we felt like we saw our life more often, especially frogs. We also walked by a pond and 6 foot came in walked out in front of us. The guide seemed to think that that never happened before, and he didn’t know what to do that was pretty cool. It didn’t last long but at least we saw a bunch. We also saw a two toed sloth. You also can get into this park the next day for free when you take a tour.

The night tour was incredible! Our tour guide was very informative and friendly. Make sure to bring bug spray! We saw a sloth, a cayman, many frogs, butterflies, and other insects. Would definitely recommend!

Our guide, Paz, did an excellent job pointing out things that would be invisible to most people. We saw many blue jean and red eyed tree frogs, a caiman, and a sloth.

Pas was extremely knowledgeable and was able to point out so many animals for us!! It was really cool to be able to go out at night and try to spot all manner of creatures with only a couple of other people! We saw dozens of frogs, a sloth, a heron, centipedes, and got to see the butterfly reserve up close where they keep caterpillars, rows of cocoons, and butterflies sleeping for the night! Would definitely recommend; a much more intimate tour than the other reserve tours we went on and felt much more like we were participating in keeping an eye out for wildlife rather than just waiting for the guide to show us everything!

Our guide was full of knowledge & had so many fun facts about plants, animals, bugs, etc.
Highly recommend this tour. It lasted 2 hours. We walked slow and got to be curious looking for all kinds or frogs. There's so much there.

Meldin was a fantastic guide. Great tour on a biological reserve called Ecocentro Danaus, developed over the last 30 years on land that was deforested. Frogs and reptiles are free to come and go as they please. Guaranteed you will find and learn about many native frogs. Booking 1 tour allows you to visitor multiple times thereafter. It's a little pricey for the experience but now you know how to look for frogs. I do suggest booking directly on their website as they charge a lower price than here.

Paz was an amazing guide who helped us see so many unique creatures. Some things we saw include a bunch of frogs, a baby caiman, many green basilisks (Jesus Christ lizards), and even a big fer-de-lance who was eating a meal. Could not recommend this tour enough as we never would’ve seen half of what we saw in the day time!

The communication from the company ahead of time was terrific. The tour was exciting and we saw lots of wonderful night critters. Amazing frogs, snakes, insects, a crocodile, and more. They gave my daughter a little souvenir bag, which was a lovely touch. They seemed caring, responsible, communicative, very knowledgeable and ran an awesome tour!

This was the best experience of my trip. No one else booked this time slot so it was a private tour. Melvin was experienced, knowledgeable, and pointed out creatures I would have completely missed. I saw toads, frogs, snakes, spiders, a Cayman, and the butterflies in the small enclosure. I even saw an armadillo!

We saw so many different and tiny frogs! The guide pointed out many different frogs, a snake, turtle, and insects. He even helped take photos for us when we couldn't get close enough. We were even able to see a sloth climbing a tree. The guide was very knowledgeable and engaging.

Our guide Paz (Pas?) was excellent. We went on a nearly full moon night, and he warned us that the brightness might make the animals less willing to come out and play, but we still saw tons - a variety of frogs + plenty of multi-legged creepy crawlies plus some larger critters like armadillo (!!), local rodents, cayman, birds both huge and tiny, and a very sleepy mama sloth with her babe. It definitely was not nonstop animals, but it was like the most fun game of Where’s Waldo that you’ll ever play. Paz was so knowledgeable about all the animals and where they might be hiding and the history of the forest that is only 30 years old was really interesting. Evening was hot and sticky, but teens and adults alike really enjoyed it.
