What are people saying about La Fortuna

Must do if you have smaller kids.
This was a must do if you have younger kids. We did the tour with our 5 year old and saw so many bugs, frogs, and butterflies. The path that you walk on is made of small rocks so not muddy and it’s a short path(1km) which is perfect for kids. The tour lasted 1.5 hours which also fit our impatient kid! Highly recommend and our tour guide Paz did a great job.

Amazing Night!
Amazing tour. The tour guides were really friendly, spoke excellent English and were very helpful. We spotted snakes, frogs, lizards, possum and a sloth. We also saw lots of birds and insects. Both tour guides were welcoming and made me and my partner feel relaxed and involved. I would highly recommend this tour for any nature enthusiasts.

Great (in spite of the rain)!
Jocsan & Beto drove us out to La Tigra and then showed us the grounds where we saw all kinds of wildlife: frogs of all kinds & even a sloth! The rain almost made it better because all of the frogs come out when it rains. Good thing I bought a poncho once we got there! The three course dinner (soup, entree, dessert) was also amazing. We had a good time sharing photos in the car ride back. Would definitely recommend 10/10

So much nightlife!
We had so much fun exploring the rainforest at night! Our family of five was guided by Christopher on a 2-hour tour. We were shocked at the amount of critters we were able to see on this hike...everything from raccoons, snakes, frogs and spiders to beautiful vegetation and so much more! Chris was knowledgable, friendly, and let us set the pace of the tour. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for something adventurous and educational!

Amazing Night Hike - Favorite experience in costa rica
Neifram was an amazing guide! He provided so much information that was interesting and you can tell he is very passionate about what he does. He also took some pics with a special lens so we could see the creatures from a very up-close perspective. I would say this was my favorite experience in Costa Rica so far. Neifram made it feel very special and unique. You can check out his instagram for photos --> @tropics_shooter

The Best Day! Monkeys, Birds, Sloths, Food, Waterfall!
This was one of the best days! Val was our guide and she was AMAZING! We visited during rainy season and so we prepared for the rain and planned on making it the best day regardless of weather. While it did rain some in the morning, it cleared up and had the best time. Bring a rain coat or poncho! Each location has a nice bathroom. We started the day on volcano hike and learned all about the volcano. Then we ventured to the waterfall, both driver Alberto & Val were always trying to find birds or animals on the drive for us to see. We stopped before the waterfall and saw a beautiful hawk & toucan. The waterfall was beautiful but due to all the ran, it was too rough therefore we couldn't get in for a swim. We did prepare with water shoes. We brought a small water resistant back pack. I would highly recommend this but put your passports in plastic bag or protest them! We did not and ours did get a little damp. We brought a change of clothes in case we did swim, we wore our swim suits under hiking clothes. Lots of steps down to the waterfall and back up. We had a group for the first two excursions and then the family left as they did not book the full day. It was just myself and my wife for the rest of the day. Val took us to lunch, it was THE BEST lunch at Casa Luna! The food was soooo good. The weather cleared up, we really enjoyed this time. Then we all ventured off to the Hanging bridges. Again Val stopped because the Volcano cleared for the best pics and she also spotted a sloth! Hiked all through the rainforest, saw many more animals, monkeys...etc. We brought natural bug spray but didn't need it, however be prepared just in case. The hanging bridges were fun too! Highly recommend this tour when visiting La Fortuna . We cannot wait to visit again!

Had the best time with Lyan as our guide doing the La fortuna night life tour. Lyan was incredible kind, knowledgeable, and fun to be around for our 2 hour tour. Time went by so quick as we were having so much fun. We’d reccomend this experience (and Lyan!!!!) to anyone!

Exceptional experience
Our experience with David and his beautiful horses was the nicest experience of the trip. David is knowledgeable, funny and patient. The horses are beautiful, super well behaved and trained. Rio Celeste is amazing!!! The color, the cleanness…is a whole experience and we loved. We would absolutely do it again!.

Elias has a genuine...
Elias has a genuine interest in the ecosystem of Costa Rica and it comes through as he guided us. He shared his knowledge of both plants and animals of the area, along with their history. Even though the rain may have made it more difficult, we were still able to see some amphibians and insects and learn a bit about them, and their role in the ecosystem. Most importantly, he kept us safe from any potential jaguar.
Compared to a hike during the daytime, a night hike makes you more aware of the sounds and certain animals are nocturnal. Definitely worth consideration if it sounds interesting to you.

Sunset cruise
The hospitality was amazing. We learned so much about the history the Arenal volcano and how many resources come from Lake Arenal. The guides were great company. We snacked, drank, talked, and enjoyed a lot while taking in the beautiful view of the volcanoes, lake, and sunset.
