One of the best experiences in costa rica. The hanging bridges was a one of kind experience. The la Fortuna waterfall was well worth the trek down and the Arenal volcano is such an amazing sight. The best of the entire experience was our tour guide Mario. He was extremely knowledgeable and funny. He catered to our every need. He knew where to get the best pictures. If you are using this tour company ask for Mario as your tour guide.

We loved our guide Miguel and we made great friends on the tour! You truly cannot spot the wildlife without a guide. Our guide spotted a toucan and a sloth on the road and stopped to the side so we could get out and look. The parks were amazing and we were able to see everything in just a day!

While our tour guide was very nice he explained very little to us . He helped us sign into the waterfall area and then left as well it says there is several ways to walk around the volcano we did one and it was quick . The lunch was good Hanging bridges were awesome

A very comprehensive tour of the Arenal region! My only comment is that I wish the tour guide would have let us go at our own pace since everyone came in with different goals. Tour guide was great!

Husband and I had the most fun on a fully immersed nature day. Parks are nice, hikes are easy and fauna is plentiful. Didn’t get to see many animals, as the tour doesn’t straight from the path, and the path is noisy. The stairs down to the waterfall are steep, but there’s benches along the way (which I made full use of!). The waterfall was so cold I couldn’t care to go in, but it’s gorgeous I was glad to go down. My husband felt the swim was a must, but got a in and out dip. Nice day out. Easily made by the guides Miguel and Manu, who are so nice and made our day as comfortable as possible. Worth the money

It was nice to see the Arenal area highlights. This particular day suffered from large crowds everywhere and our tour group of 25 people was way too big to fully enjoy. Waterfall and bridges are beautiful but very touristy and crowded which isn't my particular style to enjoy. The volcano hike was the highlight as the group had shrank to 15 people by then and we got lucky to see a large troop of about 20 coatis walk right by our group.

Very complete and adventurous experience to see the main attractions in La Fortuna in one day!! We enjoyed visiting Mistico Park to hike the forest, see the animals that live there, and cross majestic hanging bridges. In one of them, howler monkeys gave us a great show!! Our guide, Mario, was very helpful and found the animals for us to see with his scope. Next, we visited the Arenal Volcano and La Fortuna Waterfall! My kids particularly enjoyed the waterfall, despite the 500 steps to get to it!! Thanks to the delicious lunch which was included in this tour, we had the energy to walk all the steps! If you want to see it all in La Fortuna and still have time to enjoy your resort, this is the best tour!!

Mario was a great guide. He was very funny and knowledgeable. The highlights were when Mario used his monoculars to show the tour a poison dart frog, sloths, toucans, and a monkey. The tour size was small and everyone bonded over the experience.

This was a FABULOUS experience. What a way to get all three in one day! It sounds daunting, but it’s broken up so well at such a nice pace that you really get to soak in the nature and learning!! Mario was fabulous as all reviews have stated. We learned so much, saw so much, and experienced so much. 10/10 highly recommend

If you can get Mario as your driver you will be in for a real treat. Went way out of his way to show us wildlife in the wild- he stop for a sloth and two Tocan- just off the road. So very, very pleasant and funny!! Great adventure!!

We had the best time! Mario was our guide and went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a wonderful experience! We traveled with 3 kids (12,9,6) and they were able to do all of the hiking! Mario was patient and waited for our kids. He also stopped while we were driving for an opportunity to see sloths. We had the most incredible time and enjoyed chatting with other travelers as well! We would do this again!!

This tour was incredibly worthwhile and allowed us to experience so much of the La Fortuna/Arenal area in one day! Mario was a great tour guide—full of energy, knowledge, and humor.
Unfortunately pouring rain and fog prevented us from viewing the Arenal volcano and swimming in the waterfall but a known risk.
Lunch was decent.
A few issues: Our reservation made months in advance confirmed they would pick up and drop off at our hotel but day before they messaged that we would have to meet them there without an explanation. Also, under the ‘included in package’ list was ‘snacks’ but there weren’t any so I suggest you bring your own. So 4.5/5 stars.
Otherwise a worthwhile day.

Well organised way to have a packed day with lunch at a very good restaurant.the guide Mario was excellent and helped us see animals that we would never have seen unguided

Tour guide Mario was very very funny, entertained us lot. Started the hanging bridges, spent good amount time, explained about some trees in detail. Cited 2 small snakes . Unfortunately, it was cloudy and rainy day so couldnt see any sloths, monkeys or toucans
Next, we stopped at waterfalls, it was raining but we were able to go down the waterfall, it was amazing, couldn't swim due to rain and water levels were up
Stopped for lunch at rainforest cafe, had an awesome lunch
Last stop was at Arenal volcano, Mario patiently took us through the hike, made the group do adventurous hike, explained the history of volcanos.
Overall had a great day.The van had 16 people including my family of 4, different races but everyone were very social, funny and friendly. Felt like had a trip with family even though they are strangers.

Most memorable moment was our tour guide Mario spotting a sloth while driving in a rainstorm with limited visibility. I think Mario has a sixth sense at spotting the flora and fauna (monkeys, snakes, birds, even a slipper orchid)! Highly recommended and ask for Super Mario!!!

You won’t regret booking this excursion…and you would be lucky if you got Mario as your guide. He knows more about the ecosystems and animal species than most biologists. We learned soooo much about La Fortuna. He is the winning lottery ticket as far as tour guides go. The tour was very informative, felt personal, and was overall just a great experience. Two thumbs up. Thank you “Miguel” for the best tour in La Fortuna!

Mario made this an incredible experience and he was able to spot out a ton of wildlife that made our experience incredible. The wildlife around the hanging bridges was great. The waterfall was a sight to see and the hike to the volcano and learning the history was special. Highly recommend!

Had a great day and great weather. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable as well. We also had a great local lunch. Would highly recommend. Make sure to bring a towel and water shoes for the waterfall and good shoes with good trekking bottoms for the other two excursions.

I would definitely recommend this excursion if you go to La Fortuna! Pick up and drop off went very smoothly. Our AirBNB was not listed in the provided box but I messaged the company our location and they knew where we were and provided a time for pickup. They arrived promptly at that time! Mario did an amazing job on this tour! He was able to point out a lot of local flora and animals throughout the several parts of this trip. He had a great sense of humor and made the trip fun even when it was wet hot and then rainy later. The lunch provided was a Costan Rica classic dish and was very good. There were waters supplied but no snack so if you want snack I would recommend packing them. Overall, my husband and I had a great time and would highly recommend.

This excursion was so much fun! Kenya was our guide and she was amazing - so knowledgeable, friendly, and kind. She also double checked to make sure we had everything we need for the day before we left. Definitely wear good hiking shoes and bring a poncho. We got to see awesome wildlife thanks to Kenya’s keen eye. The lunch was good - a large plate of casado. I got the fish option (tilapia) which was great. Would absolutely recommend!

An interesting mix of 5 and 1 stars. The great, all 5 stars: Mario our guide was outstanding. Mauricio our driver was great. The hanging bridges of Mistico were our favorite in CR. The waterfall was a blast, but I highly recommend you stretch first. Our calves were sore for days! The volcano hike had great views. The whole thing was family friendly.
The not so great: Pickup was a few minutes late, then we had to wait on the side of the road for a taxi bringing a woman they forgot to pickup earlier. The excursion says it has cold bottled water and snacks were included, so we didn't bring. The tour operator forgot to put the water on the bus so we had to buy our own. They looked at us like we were crazy when we asked about the snacks. None. Most of the tours seemed to cap at 10 people. We assumed that would be the case here as well since the listing described transport by air-conditioned minivan. Transport was by bus and there were 20 of us. The numbers were annoying at Mistico, but not such a big deal for the waterfall or volcano. We thought the numbers were shrinking since some folks only purchased the early part of the tour, but they picked more people up along the way.
Conclusion? Definitely do the activities (though maybe over 2 days, not 1). If you can find a way to get Mario as your guide, do it. This tour operator? Maybe not perfect.

Awesome, comprehensive tour with guide Kenia! Our tour experience did start a bit rocky because they let us know less than 24 hours in advance that they could not pick us up at the hotel (although its in the tour description / they could have reached out earlier). We were able to get picked up for a $30 extra charge, but on a positive note the ride arrangement was very seamless. We first went to Mistico hanging bridges where Kenia spotted cool wildlife like anteaters and birds for us. She was very knowledgeable and lovely and we highly recommend her. Then, we went to eat casado (actually our favorite casado experience in CR). After, we went to the Arenal waterfall where Kenia watched our stuff and we were able to take a dip. Finally, we hiked the Lava Trails which was the perfect magical end to the tour (actually the true end was the delicious pineapples we got to munch on). Super professional and well coordinated tour, everything went very smoothly

Our guide Mario was AMAZING and truly made this tour so personable! He was so patient, knowledgeable, kind, funny and brought the whole thing to life! The tour was beautiful and we were really able to take in the nature in the most natural way (as it should be). Mario knew all the spots to spot the best wildlife including sloths, birds, and even monkeys in their natural habitat. Such a fun time! Thank you for everything! Highly recommend!
