Not worth the money

We arrived at the meeting point coffee shop. There were four people in line to use the toilet and the tour guide left without waiting. We got out of line and rushed to catch up. The Vatican is very crowded place and she was walking so fast that many of the elderly people could not keep up. Basically she took us to the security line where they check your bags and electronics. Then she walked us up the steps to where you get in line to see the dome. I think it would be just easier to do it yourself. There are toilets along the way that you can use at your leisure and you would save money by not buying this tour. Tickets to see the dumb cost $10 if you are walking up the steps and 15 euros if you were taking the elevator. Just my two cents. I just felt that there was no consideration for the people in the group and no value added.

Avoid - booking this tour serves no purpose

This tour offer no perks whatsoever. We ended up in a queue for 2.5hours before getting up to the dome. We were placed in the same queue as people that had no tickets, you would really expect the tour operator to have the tickets pre purchased, in an effort to speed things up.

Buy tickets directly from St Peters

The dome is 5 stars. The tickets 2 stars. You are in a HUGE group. The line is long, the wait is long and you spend twice the money for the same thing that you would buy directly. The sudio guide was ok but you need your own device and headphones so listen to Rick Steves or another for free. If you don't plan ahead and it's your only option, it will get you in, but there are likely better options.

Infinite waiting

I have just received a request to review the experience which did not even start yet. We arrived 15mins before the planned start. The first queue was for a sticker and a free bottle of water. Then you wait for the whole group to meet. After that you queue for a security check. Then you wait for the rest of the 100+ group to go through the security. The next waiting is inside next to toilets. After we waited outside to find out our 142 USD tickets cost 80 EUR with less waiting. I cannot write anything about the experience itself since it did not start yet. Still waiting………

No Show - bad directions

Was given directions to meeting point. Put details into Google Maps and it took me to a place approx 50 metres from meeting point. Tried calling as noticed no one else arriving and just an automated message with no answer phone. Sent a message through the APP and was ignored here also. As a result, missed the event which wasn’t cheap, probably well over face value and didn’t get to see the Basilica as arranged. Queues were too long to try and go myself. Really dissatisfied with service from VOX.

Was 1 1/2 time i line / queue Has expected we had booked ticked for jumping over queue. The audioguide was not working. Have to look at a map could not mark on the map to be sure you was informed about the correct statue. Diffucilt to explain.

View from the Dome

This tour group got you to the dome and in the elevator so that there were no problems. Took the elevator and then climbed the stairs to the top! Warning once you start the stairs there’s no turning around. Fantastic view! So worth it! St Peter’s was great but very crowded! I would highly recommend this tour group and tour.

This “experience” is a scam!

Urge you to avoid!! This is a scam. They very slowly walk you to the line to purchase tickets where you wait with every other person who found their way to the ticket line. The “guide” buys tickets for everyone with a credit card and then you separate into lines for those taking the stairs and those taking the elevator. In the amount of time it takes for you to wait around a random coffee shop meet up point and wait for the “guides” to get organized, you could have saved yourself time and money by just going to the ticket office yourself. You would have been there and done before this group even arrived. This entire “experience” was a total and complete scam.

There was excellent communication with your operator. We were pleasantly surprised with free juice & croissant (several choices) at the cofe where we met! We highly recommend walking the dome stairs-well worth the experience! Note: the very top portion is narrow & slanted. And the first part is very dark so we had to use our cell phone light.

You could be waiting in the queue standing for 2 and a half hours. The meeting place is accessible without going through the checkpoint queue to the road around St Peters Square. You can go up the DOME most of the way by lift. You can only see the top dome views through dense bars. The view at the top of the lift is as good in my view. The bascillica and the Dome are great but this activity can be very stressful if health or standing or crowds are s problem.

Apparently, this tour was outsourced to another tour company but I purchased from VIATOR. I could not locate the tour operator or reach them via their messaging app. I attempted to contact them via the messaging app; no response at all to three messages. Nobody ever called me.

The tour was accurate of what the event advertised. You start at the meeting point which was a small café were they give you a free breakfast, a juice box and a crossaint. Than the tour guide takes you through the security which is mandatory. They take you into St. Peter's Basilica where you get the choice whether to stay with the group or guide yourself through the Basilica. They recommend you going up to the Dome & the cupola if you do go up the stairs 2,204 you can take the elevator or the stairs. Otherwise, it's an amazing experience and I 100% recommend this experience. I would definitely return!

Found the place to access ticket with help from taxi driver. Young friendley stafff led us in right direction with a lengthy queue awaiting entry. Use the lift to acces the roof level. Then climbed up the dome. You need to be quite fit. Photos from the top are amazing. Once in a lifetime thing to do. Pleased i did it.

A lot of people from different languages were placed together at the same time only in one group. And, having only one guide for this big assemble complicated the communication. This large group was kept together in the extremely long waiting line (so, also, nothing about "skip-the-line") Finally, after passing security, the guide apparently was in a hurry walking very fast, and for that reason, several people from the middle to the end of the group were left behind.
