Experience of a life time
In short, this was an incredible experience we’d remember for the rest of our lives!
We signed up for the small group hike not knowing who else would be in the group and whether we would be fit enough to not become a burden. On the day of the hike, we met the other group members. There were 10 of us, from various countries and of very different ages. The weather was warm, and it’s a rare day of mostly sunny skies. All signs pointed to a really good hike.
Our guide Kevin was great! Before we moved out from the base, he made sure every one was clear of the safety requirements and checked everyone’s equipment thoroughly. Once the hike started and we walked onto the glacier, he kept us moving always on a safe path away from dangerous crevices. He also gave us plenty of short breaks to rest and take pictures, while he talked about the glacier: how it used to be much larger, and how it changed through time, etc. that really gave us the opportunity to see the impact of climate change first hand.
With the good weather and a group of relatively fit members, we got to hike to much higher point than a typical tourist group could go and that was fantastic! The view just gets better the higher you climb! We completed a big circle up, across and then down the glacier in about 4 hours. It was challenging at times climbing up but everyone made it through, safely and happily.
I would highly recommend the tour, and big thanks to Kevin in particular. We got some of the best pictures taken on the glacier during our self guided tour of Iceland. We will cherish the memory forever!

Fabulous Glacier HIke
This glacier hike was fabulous! Our tour guide, was very well-informed and personable. The hike was not difficult, and the scenery was spectacular. The tour operators made sure that everyone was safe and informed. Highly recommend this hike with Arctic Adventures!

Rakel is amazing!!
Rakel was our tour guide. She was so very nice, she gave us so much information about the Icelandic culture and about the island itself. They communicated well when it came to finding them at the port. So it worked so very well with being an excursion I booked on a limited time frame. But again, 10/10 would recommend. Rakel was amazing!!

It was an education about many aspects of Iceland
This was a great trip out to see the geysers waterfall craters . Our guide Sunny and Driver Arthur were wonderful. Sunny was full of info on many aspects of Iceland life and history. She knows as much as any geologist of tectonic plates . She is an asset to this company and should be rewarded to keep her.

Fabulous experience
Just go. Our glacier group had the entire age range: from young to old. Our glacier guide Mika trained us well and accompanied us well. Our driver Sergei made stops at two waterfalls and the black sands beach, giving us enough time (you now, considering time limits). Both guides were friendly and attentive to personal needs. Superb experience!

Snaefellsnes Peninsula Tour
Super scenic tour with a ton of breathtaking stops! Shoutout to our guide Giuseppe and driver Pete! Giuseppe was an incredible guide who provided cool insight into the geological and volcanic history of Snaefellsnes, and his friendly but punctual attitude made for a very smooth and pleasant experience. Favorite sites were definitely Kirkjufell and Arnarstapi!

Franco was the best...
Franco was the best guide! He was flexible on a variable weather day and really customized the tour to the abilities of our group. It was our first time trying ice climbing and he was the perfect person to teach us. We felt incredibly safe with his guidance and he gave us enough sense of adventure to push ourselves. His love of Iceland, the land, and the glacier is clearly evident. 10/10 recommend this activity for anyone wanting something a little more adventurous and challenging.

A must-do Iceland experience!
Our guide, Maria, was helpful and knowledgeable and made this such a great experience for us! It was such a unique experience getting to hike up onto the glacier, see the little water flows, and ice caves on this quickly changing landscape. We nearly decided not to take the time to drive out to Vatnajökull, but I’m so glad we did!

A Memorable Trip
What a great trip to see some of Icelands best sights. Lots of interesting commentary from the driver throughout. Extinct volcanic craters, geyser, waterfalls, geothermal park and all on the tour. The highlight though was Hvammsvik geothermal pools, a 2 hour stop that will last in my memory for a long time. Don't forget to have a quick dip in the ocean as well!

This tour was incredible!...
This tour was incredible! We had an amazing tour guide who shared lots of history and fun facts about each sight we went to. This tour is a MUST for anyone who wants to explore some of Iceland’s most beautiful sights. This was my favorite tour of my entire trip!

Great experience
Tour starts in the lagoon, you drive with huge terrain vehicle to the glacier around 30min. Then you hike to the cave around 10min. I like that tour is in a small group, around 10 people, compared with other providers with 20+ people. Cave is beautiful! Our guide was very sweet and funny, also sharing really interesting facts about glacier history, cave formation process etc. He was also very helpful, doing photos of everyone and made us feel very welcome. Genuinely recommended.

Thanks Edgar and Natalia!
This was the highlight of my trip to Iceland. When can you say you hiked a glacier? My partner and I went to iceland in October when there was record snowfall- 18inches! We still managed to make the trek from Reykyavik to the meet up location (about 2.5 hour drive) and it was well worth it. The weather on the glacier itself was perfect, hardly windy and SUNNY. It look a little bit to get the trek started with donning the safety equipment, but once we got going, wit was amazing. Edgar and Natalia were amazing hosts- very patient with some of our less attentive compatriots but also very informative. And a pleasure to be around and talk with. I just hope they'll adopt a QR code / venmo for digital payments (still, it's obviously wholly, my fault I did not prepare cash for tips!). Best of luck to you Edgar and Natalia, I hope to see you again next year, maybe in the spring or fall!
