This is a fantastic tour. The experience was beautiful and unique. On this tour you travel quite far on to the glacier, representing a good value. Our guide was very friendly and fun and assured our safety. Troll expeditions was very flexible and helped us out despite our late arrival. The guides gave suggestions of other points of interest in the area. The tour leaves from a place quite far from Reykjavik. I highly recommend this experience.

This was a unique experience and scenery was beautiful. Marco was amazing, very willing to share his knowledge about the glaciers, caves and the other stuff around. He gave us ample time at each checkpoint to click enough pictures. The tour was well organized, as per schedule and didn’t seemed rushed. However, I would suggest everyone to read the tour description carefully so that you understand that this is not really a hike and more like a stroll across the area with a lot of stops. We had our expectations in line while booking the tour. So, no complaints!

It’s 4-5 hours drive from Reykjavík, so plan accordingly.
It’s cold ( we went Dec.26) so wear warm layers.
They leave on time so don’t be late.
Definitely worth it.
Global warming is decimating these things

Exactly what you’re looking for! Fabian was fantastic. From start to finish the views, fun, climb and education aspects were on point. You can’t go wrong with this one and they offer so many other activities I might to another site with them.

Our guide Clara was fantastic.
Not only was she informative, but very safety conscious. She looked after us all and gave us plenty of time for photos, which made our morning very enjoyable.

Once on the glacier views are incredible! Our tour guide Batcha was extremely knowledgable! Was a very well organised tour and equipment provided! Despite the rain the tour was a great experience!

This was a pretty unorganized experience. Parking was bad. I believe two hours would have made the experience better, four is far to long. You are just walking in the same area for four hours. Pretty exhausting

Had an excellent experience on this ice cave tour and glacier hike! Small group of 15 people. Our tour guide Joao was excellent! He was very knowledgeable and explained a lot about the history of ice caves and glaciers. Very funny, passionate, engaging, and seemed to love his job. Would definitely recommend this activity to others and try other activities with this company.

This is an incredible experience if you have the opportunity to visit the south east in the winter. We were very lucky to have beautiful clear roads from Reykjavik and back. It’s 4 hours there and back. Most people stay over in Vic or head further east but we were staying in the city for our entire stay. This is a strenuous excursion. You need to be I. Decent shape. You will hike icy conditions for 4 hours. We did the 2pm afternoon into evening hike and had to wear headlamps. They equip you with crampons and an ice pick and helmet. A harness for just in case I assume. It’s breathtaking and exhausting but totally worth it. The company was Troll adventures. I highly recommend them.

The glacier hike was enjoyable, however I would not describe the "cave" as a cave. It does not look anything like the pictures, and was very small. My husband was not able to go inside it, because it was that small.

Could not have asked for a better guide than Fabian, who is professional and funny, and really elevated the tour to the next level. We went for an afternoon tour and got to see the amazing glacier in the golden hour. Fabian recommended a personal favourite spot where you could see the golden hue reflected off the icy wall surface. Amazing experience, thank you!

Very good tour,our guide Camino was excellent,was giving good explanations about everything and was very attentive.The difficulty is easy/moderate with a few difficult spots but overall we made many breaks for photos and rest. The view is amazing and the site is breathtaking,a very good experience

Our guide was the best part. He was knowledgeable, helpful and kind. More than an hour of the time was spent walking to the site and waiting to avoid other groups. There was no cave, a cavern at best. The pictures and videos on the site are very misleading. I wonder what our tour would have been had we just done the cave tour. I fully understand that the glacier is constantly moving and changing, but what they call a cave was a few carved steps in the glacier and into a crevasse that had a small area big enough for maybe 4 people that was under the ice. In the crevasse the 13 of us could barely all fit. Very disappointed in this part. If you want to do an ice cave, I suspect there is something better.

We had amazing guide (unfortunately we can't remember his name because it was so difficult just to pronounce it, sorry) the whole tour was well plnned and everyone was accommodating. Also our guide kept us entertained and informed about all the questions we had. Would really recomand to anyone.
