One the greatest experiences of our lives. There is absolutely nothing to fear with these majestic animals. The crew (especially Alma) was amazing! They were also very organized and professional. You are missing out on the fruits of life if you do not take this trip.
Great experience, highly recommend to go. Chef was very nice, talked about the produce and ways to select ripest ones. Went through some history of the food in the area. Making your own food was fun, highly recommend to anyone thinking about culinary interests.
I cannot recommend this excursion enough! If you are on the fence about booking a Chichen Itza and cenote tour, just do it. It is a long day, but it is incredibly well-organized and worth every penny. Our tour guides, Gustavo and can't remove the other guides name, sorry, were fantastic—funny, engaging, and deeply knowledgeable about Mayan history. Swimming in the cenote was the absolute highlight of the trip. The water is stunningly clear.
A huge thank you to the team for taking such great care of us. If you want to dive deep into Mayan culture and see one of the wonders of the world, this is the tour to book! I highly recommend bringing cash in case cards don't work!!
First impressions:
We were greeted by Mario on the docks where he quickly helped guide us toward our perfect itinerary. We came, not really knowing what we wanted besides some snorkeling and swim time but he walked us through our many options. I’d read in many reviews of other companies, that the actual boat looked nothing like the photos online, but this was not at all the case. This boat was beautiful! It was clean and had the netting to lounge in so you could watch the turquoise waters pass beneath. The bathrooms were also tidy and not too difficult to get to. They loaded us all on and made sure we were comfy, then it was time to set sail.
The crew: Mario runs a very well oiled machine. This crew catered to our every need. They managed to nail the line between keeping our drinks full and not checking in too much. They helped guide us around the boat on choppy Waters, and even down the ladders to the bathrooms when needed. When I tell you, these men moved around this boat like they lived on water their whole lives, believe me.
Jorge, Jose, and Charlie were absolute gems. We felt so safe and well cared for. It was as if this particular crew had worked together for years. They gave off the impression they were just there having fun with us, but mastered noticing each other’s cues and got done what needed to be. Always! I appreciated the fact I never felt like someone was waiting on me. It was more like you were at a party with an incredible host. Thanks guys!
Snorkeling: We opted for the less crowded sunken ship snorkel. They had all the equipment we needed, including the flippers, the mask and a life belt. After helping us in the water, they jumped in right after us. I wasn’t expecting this, but they brought in one of the orange life rings from the boat. With this, I was able to just put my face in the water and calmly kick while one of the crew members guided me around/through the ship. Telling you that we saw a lot of fish would be an understatement.
The beach/ Swimming:
Mario had warned us early on that getting near the sandbar and close to the beach would be almost impossible. Somehow, he made it happen. They had Floaties and life vests ready for us so we could just Bob in the turquoise Waters above the white sands. It was incredible. The crew would swim out cocktails and drinks to us when our glasses got empty. It was a sight to see. I somehow managed to drop my sunglasses off the edge of the boat, and before I could even tell them that it was a cheap pair, one of the crew dove in after them. I’m still unsure how, but he returned with them in hand a minute later. Some of the passengers were worried about being able to pull themselves back up on the boat, but that was a non-issue with the crews help.
The Photographer: Marco is a true professional. He managed to get these incredible photos all while not being invasive. I honestly would forget he was even there sometimes. This man would hang off ropes and over the edge of the boat to get the perfect shot and angle. He even dove in the water with me while I was snorkeling and took some incredible videos. I was truly surprised to see him down there. The couples photos and large GROUP shots were extremely thoughtful but the candids were some of my favorites. He even did these mini bikini photo shoots for some of the passengers on board. I’m talking Sports Illustrated level photos that should cost an arm and a leg to have taken. If you’re looking for engagement photos or photos for any special occasion, I highly recommend doing them on this boat while you’re there. Before we docked, Marco went to the galley and was able to edit and compile everything for us. I believe the cost was well under $200, but after seeing some of the previews, we opted to tip much more. A simple link was sent to a given email and was very simple to share with the entire group.
Mario: You’re incredible! We felt as though we spent the day sailing with an old friend who went through great lengths to show us around their home turf. We got way more than our moneys worth with this company and crew. I’d like to request you every year we come back if possible. It wouldn’t be the same experience without you.
Don’t forget to bring cash to TIP YOUR CREW. They’re working so hard but you’d never know with all the smiles and laughter. I cannot recommend them and this company enough. Tell them the Clark family sent you :)
Fantastic boat tour for all ages, very memorable experience, and so relaxing !
This was a wonderful experience! It’s a small group on the catamaran unlike some other tours we saw! It was so lovely and the crew were amazing, couldn’t do enough for you, made sure we were comfortable at all times, plenty of refreshments too including a light lunch which was delicious ! Would highly recommend
This was an expensive but well-worth it experience. We were staying in Playa Del Carmen so Maroma Beach where this experience is held was only a short drive away - which travel to and from was covered by the tour operator. There are a couple additional fees at the beach itself (it is a beach club after all) so be aware of this, but ultimately we felt like the day was great value. 45 minutes of ATV through various terrain and another 45 minutes of speedboating felt like ample time to enjoy each of the activities. In addition to this, lunch is included and it's a fantastic indoor/outdoor buffett with local cuisine. Our one regret was changing our return time from 5:30pm to 4:30pm because Maroma beach is just so lovely and well-kept. When we went it wasn't very busy and the beach was pristine.
Book it. Had the best time ever. The tour guides were great. Totally worth the price, instant access to all four places, free drinks, bottles of tequila, vodka, and rum were given at senor frogs. You give the guides 200 pesos to cover all tips for the night.
Amazing views, a lot of history, and a magical swim in a cenote.
It was Amazing. Our guide Arturo was Magnificent! He is a well of knowledge and was kind enough to share some of it with us. He truly embodies the Mexican hospitality and kindness.
The tour itself started well as they picked us up at our hotel. We then picked up a few people along the way, changed buses and set off for Tulum. The Park was great. It was a beautiful day, so it was a bit crowded, but still very spacious. The ruins are majestic and truly inspiring. They're a testament to Mayan greatness. The view of the ocean is simply stunning.
We then set off for Coba, great archeological site as well. The views of the temples and structures were great.
We stopped for our buffet lunch before swimming in a cenote. The food was good, the swim was Magical.
Finally we stopped for some shopping in Playa del Carmen before heading back and being dropped off at our hotel.
Overall, it is a full day of activity, but it did not feel rushed although packed with different sights. I truly recommend if you want to discover Mayan history, culture, and you have a tight schedule.
We loved this adventure for many reasons: they were very good about communicating what the next stop would be, if we could leave or need to take our belongings with. The cenotes were absolutely beautiful and very different each one. We loved the zip lining and the kayaking and the swimming. 10/10 from Kansas girls!
Perfect Day at Isla Mujeres – Fun, Sun & Crystal Clear Water
We joined the catamaran tour to Isla Mujeres and it was absolutely fantastic. Everything was very well organized from start to finish.
The staff, led by Javier, were super friendly, fun, and always made sure everyone was having a great time. With party music, open bar and a delicious buffet, the latin atmosphere on board was relaxed and full of energy.
The snorkeling was unforgettable, crystal clear water, lots of colorful fish and a stunning view of the reef. The sea was simply breathtaking.
Great energy and activity, mediocre drink selections.
This event was as advertised for the most part and met our expectations. Our boat was mostly Spanish speaking which made it a little difficult for us to keep up with everything going on but our guide did a great job of including everyone and keeping the energy levels high. Be aware that the only tequila brand we had available was Jose Cuervo and all the other drinks were canned beverages. They were fine not nothing special or unique.
Its kind of a rush to chase whalesharks but it yields back your expectations and the guides put on real effort for you to see these amazing creature as many times as you can. Even if they dont escape your presence, they swim pretty fast and outpace you in a blink. If you are gonna do it with your toddler, mine was 5 years old, do it, make him or her see them. Take medication if you tend to be seasick because the boat really sways during the chase and wait. Good luck!
