That it’s an all day event offering so many things to do and see. There were four of us and we all had a fabulous time.

Excellent attraction for everyone. Need plenty of time to see it all, so arrive as early as possible. To cap it all go to the “Mexico Espectacular” show it’s a must watch to end your day!!!

Second time visiting and Xcaret never fails to impress. It was a great all day excursion that mixes fun with cultural exposure. My 8yr old loves it.

It's one of the most amazing experiences I've had in the Playa Del Carmen area. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND going the Excaret Parque, you will be so glad you did!

The good: the park is amazing! Lots to do. Many animals, beach, the lazy river.
The bad: locker rentals were included in our booking (yay!). What they don’t tell you is that you can rent towels but…while you can pay for the with a credit card, they demand the deposit is in pesos or USD cash. I needed 7 towels so they wouldn’t rent me until I gave them $70 or 700 pesos. I didn’t have any cash. They also asked for IDs and we traveled from Cancun without passports but luckily I had pictures of passports on my phone. ATM didn’t work inside of the park so I had to a) call my credit card company to set up a pin (really upset I had to do a cash advance) and b) go from inside the park to outside the park to get cash for the deposit.

Book your Adobus beforehand, tickets sell out fast. Show was mediocre, lost interest halfway through. Amenities and park attractions are pretty cool. Massive tourist trap though
ANIL_N, Dec 2025
All the shows were cancelled. Waste of money. One time visit is ok..pickup and drop off was included when booking, upon receiving the ticket it wasn’t. Had to pay extra $200 for arranging the pickup and drop off.

We didn’t get to go due to not having an update on pick up time before the day of… we called the night before with no response then the morning of we called at 5:40 am then at 6:30 with no response and finally got thru and was told we had 10 minutes for the pick up… ended up not going … they couldn’t accommodate us for another day

I really like the place, facilities, restaurants, employees and most of all the show.
Overall outstanding experience

The park is absolutely beautiful! The animal habitats are spacious and designed to feel completely natural, with flowing streams, waterfalls, and lush vegetation throughout. We especially enjoyed the butterfly house, aviary, dolphins, and tortoises — each area was thoughtfully maintained and easy to explore.
Be prepared to walk quite a bit, but the park is easy to navigate by following the colored tiles (blue, red, black, or green) embedded in the walkways. We stopped for lunch at Las Bocas Restaurant (#41 on the map), an open-air spot that turned out to be one of the highlights of our visit. We ordered the chicken and steak fajitas, which were absolutely amazing — perfectly seasoned and fresh. My husband enjoyed a cold beer served in a frosty glass, and I had their fresh-squeezed lemonade, which was refreshing on a warm day. The total was around $50 USD, which we felt was an excellent value for the quality and service. The staff was friendly and very attentive.
The park also features two rivers you can swim in — one easy and one more challenging. We chose the more advanced one. The first half was smooth and relaxing, but the second half swims against the current, so you’ll need to be a confident swimmer. In most areas, you can’t touch the bottom, so I wouldn’t recommend this one for young kids or weak swimmers. Definitely bring water socks, as some of the rocks you might brush against are sharp and lava-like. Life jackets are required for both rivers, and fins are available if you want them (we chose to go without).
There are multiple locker areas for towels and clothes, and you’re allowed to bring your own water bottles — there are refill stations throughout the park. They also sell canned water for about $20 pesos. We purchased our tickets through Viator, and upon arrival, we exchanged the electronic tickets for wristbands at the ticket window (photo ID required). We arrived by taxi right at opening, which was perfect because the park stayed quiet for the first few hours before the bus groups arrived.
All in all, this park was a fantastic experience — beautiful scenery, well-cared-for animals, delicious food, and plenty to explore. We’d absolutely recommend it and would love to visit again!

The evening show is very warm, take a fan.
Queues for restaurants at peak times are long. Activities are expensive and get filled quickly. The river floor is sharp, wear water shoes or crocs, they don’t allow sliders or flip flops.
Shota_K, Aug 2025
Some of the stuff are not friendly. There are few explanations before having some attractions and few signs in the premises. Having all the attractions, more money is needed.
Sandy_C, Jul 2025
Breath taking views, amazing cultural experience. Beautiful beach and nice area to relax. My teenage sons had a great time floating the river.
Carla_R, Jul 2025
Completely lived up to its reputation. Full of activities, amazing animals every corner you turn..... and the photo opportunities!! The place was so detailed an immaculate!! The food was also delicious and the show made me cry more than once. I will have to return with my kids!
Hanneke_B, May 2025
Best best value for money EVER! We had an absolute blast. Just make sure you come thru early morning to enjoy the full day with all the activities the park has to offer. The cultural show in the evening is amazing! It is such a wonderful visual simulation of Mexico’s origins and history. You can’t miss out on a full day and evening visit to this amazing park and everything it has to offer. Just amazing!
AprilJosephine_B, Apr 2025
Awesome beautiful place, loved it! DO NOT use a taxi from Xcaret - they will demand double the cost, Xcaret staff will not help and you could find yourself stranded (I nearly did with children) - book and agree with your hotel before!
Vincent_M, Mar 2025
The most beautiful park that I have ever visited. Absolutely amazing and better than Disneyland. Indoor one mile cave swim was incredible and many animals in natural jungle settings. Excellent buffet and good service wherever we went. Although the salesgirl tried hard to sell us the paid snorkel trip over the free one, we declined and had a great time with the free snorkeling. She said we would not see anything in the free snorkel area but we saw hundreds of fish. Ignore the salespeople at the entrance as they will try to sell you activities that you do not need and are a waste of time.
Catarina_R, Mar 2025
One of the highlights of our trip to Mexico, the kids had a wonderful time! A unique experience, we loved the underground river.
James_B, Feb 2025
This is a must do activity when you visit the area. I have gone three times and have never been disappointed.
David_D, Feb 2025
It was such an amazing experience! At first, I wondered why the ticket prices were so high, but once I entered the park, I understood, and it was so 1000% worth it! The park is absolutely gorgeous and well-kept, way better than those in the States. I must admit. There were so many exhibits and such a wealth of information on all the wildlife in each exhibit, it was truly an amazing experience. I will definitely be going back the next time I'm in the area and I highly recommend anyone who is an animal lover to check it out, it's truly spectacular. We didn't get to see the Cultural show, which we regret because everyone who we told we went to the park said it was one of the best shows they've seen, very authentic.
Patricia_L, Jan 2025
This place was incredible. We were in awe of every single thing we did. Beautiful views everywhere you turned, activity after activity, the food was absolutely delicious, and the show at the end was beyond amazing! You absolutely can’t miss it! Be sure to get the plus package. It includes a buffet lunch - seriously, the food was spectacular, as if each plate was made with love - and the snorkeling equipment. It was totally worth it!

I threw out my back 20 hours before event, so I couldn't possibly go and my husband was taking care of me. I didn't go to hospital or Dr since since I am on vacation and I am use to these medical problems and then some . I contacted viator immediately but since it wasn't 24 hrs in advance and didn't have Dr statement, we old the $360! I sent a response back explaining my medical issues and no need to go to hospital or Dr since this happens to me frequently and I can't afford to run to medical providers every time. So I was denied refund for no medical evidence and since it was not submitted 24 hrs in advance and only 20 hours in advance.i was really disappointed that if I had medical evidence from a dr, it sounded like Viator would have had refunded our $360.

This was a beautiful place, and totally unexpected. It’s like a sea world, combined with a zoo, while learning history and culture. The show was spectacular and it was a great day. Most memorable part of our trip.
Barbara_S, Nov 2024
Cave river over 1400 feet long. However, many exit points, first one at 92 feet. Great and unique experience. Many shorter evening shows that are 30 mins long before grand show. Beach is coral no sand. Whole place is a big coral place. Nice aquarium. And many other attractions. Go onto their site.

Excelente service and fast check in. Beautiful park and wonderful show at night. Take your time lots to do better if you plan all details.

I changed my reservation 3 days before our original scheduled trip to Xcaret because of hurricane Beryl. My ticket confirmation reflected the change and that I paid for an upgrade from basic to the plus package. I went to the counter at Xcaret and they said I paid for the basic plan when clearly the ticket and the ticket price of $727 reflected the plus package. The Xcaret representative said he would talk to his manager and call Viator. We waited almost 2 hours to get resolution under 100 degrees temperature with 90% humidity which of course my family and I are not used to. I kept asking the representative if they got through with Viator and he said he is still working on it. I also called Viator, tired chat online and was unsuccessful. Mind you, I clicked on the need more help option and it took me in circles. Almost two hours of waiting and my boyfriend telling the Xcaret representative we would not repay and then ask for a refund, the Xcaret representative said they resolved it and said the issue was that Viator did not communicate to them that our ticket was upgraded to a PLUS package. If you buy any activity from Viator, don’t change it later because you will be left to sweat to death for multiple hours.

Great experience!! Best advice, start w cenote lazy river. Then work your way back! Lotsss of walking. Enjoyyyyy!
Delia_C, Apr 2024
For us as family was the 4th time and always had a wonderful day
This time we came with some friends and we didn’t know about the changes in the programs, also the private event that was running that day stopped us to visit all the places
The show was a small slice from what experienced previous times
It was a bit frustrating since we brought some friends with us and from everything that we commented they will see it was a small part
Emeily_D, Apr 2024
the cenotes are so worth it!
Wildlife there is so beautiful!
Will be returning in the future!
make sure to book pick up and drop off ahead of time & if traveling for mulitple
days, definitely recommend renting a car instead

This place is a must see if you’re in Playa del Carmen…the place is so magical and exhilarating…too many places to enjoy plus a pretty good choices of restaurants to eat buffet lunch and a finale cultural show that’s so fantastic, well choreographed and great costumes. Feels like you’re watching an Olympic presentation of Mexico. It’s worth the money to spend the day with…
