Swimming with the turtles was amazing! This was also outr 3rd cenote and this was likely our favorite one. Beautiful, mysterious space with lots of interesting passages, including a few tight squeezes. Very clean water and incredible history. Our guide, Omar, even had us sit in the dark for one minute and listen to the space around us - a very surreal experience.
The lunch at the end was a nice cap to an amazing day.
About Omar (and our driver, Julio) - they are the best! We have had MANY guides over the years and Omar is knowledgeable, fun, and very personable. I highly recommend this tour!

The experience was so much fun. The beach had a ton of seaweed but we couldn’t do much about that, thankfully we were still able to see the sea turtles. Cenote was probably the best part of the entire trip.

Our Tour guide was absolutely amazing and totally made our day! Great activities and wonderful lunch!

A fantastic morning out. Ceasar and Jonathon were great hosts - fun, enthusiastic and friendly. Good humour. Would definitely recommend to friends. Thanks for a great experience. Loved the cenote and snorkeling. Lunch was also delicious.

I didn’t get to go because the provider never called , or answered when I called for pick up. Viotor sucks too. They didn’t give me a refund after explaining the situation. The pick up arrangement wasn’t on my itinerary and I was expected to find it in an email. I’m on vacation , I’m not checking on my email. Thanks for ruining a valuable vacation day.

DO NOT BOOK! Total scam. They let me know last minute the tour would be starting an hour early (I didn’t see the message they sent me the NIGHT PRIOR due to traveling and being busy.) why have a tour state it starts at 9 am and then have it start at 8 am? I tried calling them 15-20 times with no answer. I have been to 15+ countries and book excursions everywhere and I’ve never had the lack of communication like this so now I’m out $400. Even though I didn’t get to take the tour. DO NOT BOOK!

The cenote tour was great. But I’m giving this 1 star because I never got all the photos I grossly overpaid for. They even had the audacity to say they never took photos inside the cenote even though i have another couples photo in my share of photos. AND that same couple was in our tour so I remember them. Very unhappy with that service and communication from their team.
Maria_W, Jul 2026
This was a full day excursion. Incorrect pick-up time was given, we were emailed a pick up of 6:05 am when the correct time was 6:50 am. The first cenote location was closed so they switched to another. If you experience motion sickness double think this trip. The road to the cenote and lunch are off the paved road and very bumpy. Our guide and locations were enjoyable - loved swimming the cenote. Total time of excursion was almost 10 hours.
Sayaka_S, Jun 2026
Transportation AC is weak and sitting at the back means sitting in sauna. The cenote portion was beautiful but the turtle tour was disappointing. Saw maybe 2 turtles from very far. Ocean is filled with seaweed / kelp. You are swimming just to avoid these kelp. Tour guide was friendly but lunch was unnecessary. You are eating lunch by the ocean filled with kelp and smell is horrible.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations.
We understand your concerns regarding the transportation, the snorkeling conditions, and the lunch location. As sea turtle sightings and ocean conditions, including seasonal sargassum, are natural factors beyond our control, they can sometimes affect the experience. However, we understand how disappointing this can be, especially when it impacts your enjoyment of the tour.
We're glad to know you enjoyed the cenote and found your guide to be friendly. Your comments will be shared with our operations team as we continue working to improve the overall guest experience.
Thank you for choosing Cancun Adventures. We appreciate your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future.

The cenote was nice. Snorkeling was cancelled due to seaweed. They did not notify us until we were all ready gone. They should have told us at the beginning. We were mainly going for the snorkeling and would not have went if we knew it was cancelled. They did not offer any kind of refund. Just took us to a second cenote.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not fully meet your expectations, especially regarding the snorkeling activity.
We understand how disappointing it must have been to learn about the change only after departure, particularly since snorkeling was an important part of your plans. Your comments about communication and alternatives are very valuable, and we will be sharing them with our operations team for review and improvement.
We truly appreciate your visit and hope we have the opportunity to provide you with a smoother and more enjoyable experience in the future.

The Cancun Adventures company is very well organized and knowledgeable of the area, specifically our guide Cesar!! Plan for an all day trip….traveling to pick up and drop off others takes time. But the cenote and the snorkeling in the ocean was awesome!

The water was not clear at all. It was very dark, smelly, and not very appealing. Although staff was great, I didnt get in fo snorkel. Not worth the price in my opinion. The cenote was good. But short.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
We're sorry to hear that the snorkeling conditions did not meet your expectations and that you chose not to participate due to the water clarity. Natural conditions can vary from day to day, and we understand how disappointing this can be when looking forward to the experience.

We were really looking forward to seeing and snorkeling with sea turtles. Because of weather, it did not happen and we got to snorkel in a murky Lagoon. I understand this was not the company‘s fault but still disappointing.
The cenote was however, or a delightful experience.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
We're sorry to hear that weather conditions prevented you from snorkeling with the sea turtles, as we understand how much you were looking forward to that part of the experience. While the safety of our guests and the protection of marine life always guide these decisions, we completely understand your disappointment.
That said, we're delighted to hear that you still enjoyed the cenote and found it to be a delightful experience. These natural wonders are truly special, and we're glad they provided a memorable highlight to your day.
Thank you for your understanding and for choosing Cancun Adventures. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for another adventure under more favorable conditions in the future.

Loved the Cenote and swimming with the sea turtles. A little bit of a sandy day but was still enjoyable. Get all the pictures! I loved being disconnected. Omar was a passionate and knowledgeable guide! 10/10 recommend!

We had a fantastic experience on this trip in Mexico. The first stop was a cenote hidden in the jungle, and it was honestly the highlight of the day. The cenote itself was absolutely beautiful — crystal clear water, very clean, and refreshingly cold, which is exactly what you’d expect inside a cave. We got to swim through tunnels and explore inside the cave system, which made it feel really unique and adventurous, their were some really small cute bats flying around inside the cenote.
After that, we headed to the beach to swim with turtles. We saw around three or four turtles during the experience, which was amazing. The setup is pretty straightforward: you go out on a boat, jump into the water with everyone else, and then slowly swim back toward the shore over a grassy seabed where the turtles feed. The water is shallow probably no deeper than six feet at its deepest point, so it’s suitable for most swimmers.
One thing worth mentioning is that the water doesn’t quite look like the promotional photos. It’s not crystal-clear turquoise with coral reefs everywhere like the pictures suggest. It was also fairly crowded. That said, you do genuinely get to see turtles in their natural environment, and it’s still a really enjoyable experience overall.
The final stop was a beach club/bar right on the beach, which looked really cool and had a great atmosphere. My only piece of advice: skip the tacos and order the burritos instead. The tacos were unfortunately very dry and pretty bland, several people in our group thought the same. The burritos looked much better.
Overall though, it was a memorable day with some genuinely beautiful experiences, especially the cenote and swimming with the turtles.
Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you as well for mentioning the atmosphere at the beach club and for sharing your helpful tip about the burritos!

This was a life-changing experience for me. J.J. was an amazing guide and taught us so much about Mayan culture and the local ecosystem. The cenote was incredible, like entering another realm. And we saw 5-6 turtles in the ocean! I would do this tour every day of my life if I could.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you so much for these beautiful words! We’re truly honored to know this experience was so meaningful for you.
J.J. will be delighted to hear that his passion for Mayan culture and the local ecosystem helped make your day so special. And what an incredible encounter with the turtles — moments like these are exactly what make these adventures unforgettable.

This was a full day packed with fun. There was more driving than we expected but the driver was great and tried to keep things light. Get a good breakfast before and bring some snacks if you get peckish.
The cenote was amazing. It was enclosed but well lit. The stairs were a bit challenging but safe. Not really open to the jungle but we did get blessed by a Mayan so we had that going for us. Plan for water shoes because you won’t be able to bring other footwear.
The snorkeling was at a different location but it was well organized. They provided snorkels but if you have one you like it’s worth bringing your own. They also require reef safe sunscreen so plan for that. We did see three turtles which was pretty cool.
Lunch was at another location. The food was really good and the point was beautiful and well furnished.
It was a good day but it was a long day.

The adventure was amazing. Guide amazing as well. What I would suggest for other travellers. A few things to consider if you are thinking, you will be able to take pictures in the water caves or even a go pro they don’t allow you to do so. They have a person that will take pictures for you and you have to buy a package just to have pictures. They are not cheap. Second thing swimming with the turtles amazing experience. But they don’t tell you till you’re on the way there no sunscreen or products on skin. So you don’t contaminate the area that the turtles are swimming their habitat so therefore I would suggest wearing a long sleeve shirt and long swimming pants and then if you have no hair like I do a beanie cap as you’re half in the water and half exposed to the sun, but the experience is wonderful. I even saw a Caribbean stingray so we had to move sliding our feet so we don’t step up sweeping your feet alert, stem of you’re coming and they will just go away but overall great experience just giving tips for the future traveller joining this trip
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you so much for your detailed and thoughtful review! We’re thrilled to hear you had an amazing adventure and that your guide made the experience even more special.
We truly appreciate you sharing these helpful tips for future travelers. Regarding the cenote, restrictions on personal devices are in place to protect these sacred and delicate environments, and authorized photographers operate under specific guidelines. We also value your feedback about sunscreen policies—these measures help preserve the natural habitat of the turtles, but we understand the importance of communicating this clearly in advance.
It’s wonderful to hear you saw a stingray as well—what a special moment!
Thank you again for your kind words and recommendations. We hope to welcome you back soon for another unforgettable adventure.

It was a full day of activity. I really enjoyed the water exploration. Our tour guide AK was very knowledgeable and friendly. You can tell he respects and cherishes these areas and animals, which is appreciated. If you pick the morning tour, you may not be able to eat before hand so bring snacks since you are swimming a min of 2 hours before lunch and you don't eat until almost 1pm. Lunch was great and relaxation on the beach was cool but unnecessary given most everyone are staying at a beach resort. The travel to get there was very tiresome, long and bumpy! But it's a must see!

The bus transportation was quite tight. My husband had to sit sideways to fit and he is only 5’10”. The cenote was well organized, though crowded. The pictures turned out good and it was beautiful. The boat and swim was not well organized. The waters were crowded and hard to stay with your tour guide. They acted like me not wanting to wear a scuba mask was a problem. I get claustrophobic with anything on my face but went along because my husband wanted to do it and I didn’t mind swimming along. We did see a turtle which was cool, but then they almost yell at you to swim away if it starts to swim towards you.

My boyfriend and I took the Cenote + Turtles tour, which I purchased as a gift for my boyfriend's birthday. Prior to the cenote, our tour guide Jesus Salas had taken lunch orders for the beach club later and made a mistake with one of our orders. Since we had many hours before lunch, we didn't make a big deal about it in the moment, choosing instead to correct the error separately after the cenote tour. When we did, he asked why we hadn't said anything before, and my boyfriend (not wanting to draw attention to Jesus's mistake) replied, "I must not have been paying attention." Jesus replied saying "yeah, that's the vibe you give off". We were taken aback. We had been very attentive and engaged during the cenote tour, and the comment was extremely passive aggressive. But it didn't stop there. At multiple other points during the rest of the tour, he went out of his way to make rude comments. He re-counted the lunch orders on the bus saying "I have to do this again because someone wasn't paying attention," scolded me in front of the rest of the group for apparently getting off the boat wrong, and then commented to another guest that "those two don't listen" as we walked up a slightly rocky part of the beach. As we boarded the bus again, we heard him talking in Spanish to the bus driver about a couple "ignoring everything he said". He called us "maleducados," meaning uneducated, assuming that neither of us spoke Spanish and wouldn't understand this insult. Unfortunately for him, we're both fluent.
There were a lot of good things about the tour - the cenote was beautiful, the burritos at the beach club were really good, we saw several sea turtles, the driver Benjamin was great. But after having passive aggressive comments made to and about us all day, how could we enjoy the experience? It was completely unprofessional and ruined the atmosphere of the entire day. What we thought would be one of the best days of our vacation turned disappointing and embarrassing.
