- How To Access: After booking, you’ll get an email and text with setup instructions and password (search “audio tour” in emails and texts). • Download the separate tour app by Action • Enter the password sent by email and text. • MUST download the tour while in strong wifi/cellular. • Works offline after download.
- How to start touring: Open Action’s separate audio tour guide app once onsite. • If there is just one tour, launch it. • If multiple tour versions exist, launch the one with your planned starting point and direction.
- Go to the starting point No one will meet you at the start. This tour is self-guided Enter the first story’s point and the audio will begin automatically Follow the audio cues to the next story, which will also play automatically. Enjoy hands-free exploring. If you face audio issues, contact support. Stick to the tour route & speed limit for the best experience.
- Travel worry-free: Use the tour app anytime, on any day, and over multiple days. Start and pause the tour whenever you like, taking breaks and exploring side excursions at your own pace. Skip anything you don’t care about or explore bonus content for everything that interests you

- The tour requires a supported mobile device for navigation. Please use an iPhone with iOS 15 or later, an Android device with Android 9 or later, or an iPad/tablet with GPS and cellular service.
- A Day-use pass is required for parking at most developed day-use areas along the Kancamagus Scenic Byway. If you don’t already have one, you can purchase it at self-serve kiosks located at fee-based parking areas and trailheads; the pass is valid for all fee sites for the day of purchase. Holders of the America the Beautiful interagency pass are covered at these sites and do not need a separate Day-use pass. An optional annual pass for the White Mountain National Forest is also available.

Enjoyed the history of the area that was given. Tracked position fairly well but a little off. Easy to use. Seemed to cut off early and not finish at times.

Angela, do you recall where some stories cut off? There are a ton of stories to tell and just one road to tell them on, so the timing is tied pretty tightly to the speed limit. I’d love to know where I should make adjustments.

Could not download the program and the welcome center was closed due to govt shutdown. The road is well marked with stopping places without a tour.

Since this is a self-guided audio tour, all you need to do is launch the app, which works offline once downloaded—no visit to the welcome center is necessary. The audio worked sometimes and sometimes didn’t and then sometimes repeated its self. Overall very informative, but frustrating when you have to keep messing with it while driving.

The narration was clear and entertaining. The only "con" I have is that Action Tours is not compatible with Android Audio. For that reason, I probably will not use their products again, unfortunately.

I made the mistake of not opening the app before getting to the park. Once there I had no signal. I didn't test it out ahead of time. That's on me. I did listen to it later, and it has excellent information.

I’ve traveled the Kancamagus before as a child but never appreciated the scenery. As an adult, I wanted to know the history and the best parts of the highway. For only $16 I was able to learn, take my time, and sightsee!

I used several audio tour services while on vacation. Viator is the absolute worst. There was minimal commentary and extremely long periods of silence. Save your money and skip past Viator. Try GuideAlong, instead.

The rich stories shared along our way we will remember! We learned a lot and had the views along the drive enhanced greatly because of the narration.
We will remember Sabaday Falls, Swift River and the Albany Covered Bridge forever!
In the first days of the shut down of Ski Season, many tourist sites are closed, but we had a wonderful time in the White Mountains for these few days! The narrated tour along the Kangamagus Scenic Highway made a big difference in our ability to understand what we were seeing as we drove, and to be guided at good places to stop to take in the views or to hike to Sabaday Falls — a most memorable hike! The sound of the rushing water and the glory of the fast-moving water were so refreshing and he Falls were just inspiring! We were very grateful for the inexpensive help at driving the scenic highway and connecting to nature more perfectly with the help of the narration. It was easy to purchase and to use and so, so helpful and well done! The White Mountains are one of Nature's breathtaking gifts t us all!
