See Glacier National Park in a way that few people get to with this half-day whitewater rafting tour. You'll get your bearings paddling through a calm stretch of water before making your way to the John Stevens Canyon, where you'll tackle a variety of thrilling rapids. A guide will be with you throughout your adventure and beginners are welcome to join in on the fun.

Traveling east on Highway 2 from Columbia Falls, Great Northern is on the left side of the highway a half-mile before the turn onto the Going to the Sun Highway toward Glacier National Park. Look for the Red Caboose! We ask that all guests arrive 30 minutes prior to their scheduled trip time.

This whitewater rafting adventure is the only family run company in Glacier and was it a treat. Bri was our guide and she was so knowledgeable about the glacier river we were on. The white water was exhilarating and fun but also safe as our guide was well trained. The raft held 8 people plus the guide and everyone was so sweet. Really fun and highly recommended! There’s even a point you get to get out of the raft and feel the glacier water for yourself, if you want!

We highly recommend booking your white water adventure with Great Northern Resort! They are a family owned company and the hospitality did not disappoint. We had a group of 6, 4 adults and two teenagers and everyone had an absolute blast! Definitely did not feel like we were out there for over two hours because the time went so quickly! Our guide was Caroline and everyone in the group absolutely adored her! She had us laughing the whole time and was so knowledgeable too! Thanks for a great experience! We will be back! ❤️

Best rafting company in Glacier. The guides will help with everything and all gear is provided. Its a well oiled machine there as your whole trip is planned out for you, all you have to do is pay and show up. The people really want you to have a wonderful experience and it shows .

Fun ride and crew. Felt safe and the guides seemed to know what they were doing and trained well. The weather was rough for our trip in late June but managed to have a good experience.

We had an absolutely amazing time!!! Our guide was Zoe and she did a phenomenal job guiding, entertaining, and storytelling. She got us comfortable talking, making it easier to get to know the others on our raft. Overall, the guides were amazing. They even made the bus ride entertaining. It was my friend’s first time rafting and she had a wonderful time. I have been rafting a couple times and this was by far my favorite trip I’ve been on. Definitely recommend white water rafting with this group of amazing guides.

We went in mid June, so we had level III-IV rapids and they were AWESOME! The team --biggie and crew-- were wonderful. They made us feel safe in the rapids and they were a lot of fun. It felt like we were at summer camp as adults.

It was my fiancé first time water rafting and luck would bring him right in-front of the raft! Devin and Emily, our guides, were so funny and knowledgeable about everything! PLUS we didn’t have to walk back to our buses like other tour groups! We had a smaller group which was perfect! A 3 hr experience felt way too short! Would definitely go back to them!

Great Northern rafting company was a great experience. Our guide Addie could not have been better. She was so knowledgeable and so friendly. We enjoyed our 3 hour adventure and would love to come back and do it again! Beautiful scenery, beautiful water and all around just plain fun!

Our group of 10 booked a half-day white water rafting trip with Great Northern Rafting on August 28, and we had an amazing time! Because of our group size, we split across two rafts, but everyone still had a great experience.
Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff made everything seamless. You can even rent water shoes for just $2.50 if you don’t have snug-fitting footwear (no crocs or flip flops allowed). Their little shop is handy too—stocked with water, dry bags, and other essentials. After check-in, we were bused about 10 miles down the road to the launch point on the river.
The water level was a bit lower than usual due to lack of rain, but it didn’t take away from the fun. We still hit a few good rapids, and the overall ride was a mix of mild excitement and relaxing stretches. The scenery was absolutely beautiful—floating right outside Glacier National Park felt unforgettable.
The guides were fantastic: personable, funny, and clearly very skilled. They kept us entertained, made sure we were safe, and navigated every rapid with confidence.
We would definitely recommend Great Northern Rafting to anyone visiting the area and will absolutely book with them again next time we’re back. A great way to experience the river and take in the incredible Montana landscape!

we had so much fun! i went with my parents, boyfriend, sister and her partner. we accidentally booked a white water when we were supposed to do a float, and they easily and happily accomodated us. our guide, (i think it was ava), was friendly and personable and knowledgeable. highly recommend this experience. it was perfect at the end of our trip
