I had the loveliest time attending this class. Miss Yuko was incredibly attentive, and the way she performed every step of the mochi-making process with such grace, ease, and precision, was absolutely mesmerizing. It truly felt like watching edible works of art come to life.
I was accompanied by my mom, who was initially a bit reluctant to participate, but she ended up enjoying the class so much. She became fully engaged, keenly taking notes and gathering tips to recreate the recipe once we return home.
The class was held in a cozy, inviting room with a gorgeous view from the window. There was such warmth, care, and attention in every detail that it felt as though we had known Miss Yuko for years.
We also learned fascinating history about Wagashi and its importance in various Japanese celebrations, which made the experience even more meaningful.
I wholeheartedly recommend booking this activity for a memorable, enriching experience and, of course, for the little heavenly bites you get to enjoy along the way.

Watching you both focus, smile, and create such lovely mochi and nerikiri made the time very special for me as well.
It warmed my heart to see your mom become so engaged and take notes—I hope you’ll enjoy making them again at home.
I’m also glad you felt comfortable in my home and enjoyed the view and the stories behind wagashi.
Your kind words mean so much to me.
Thank you again for choosing my class and for spending your precious time with me.
I hope our paths will cross again someday.

Our experience with Yuko’s watch class was outstanding. Yuko was in contact with us early on to make sure that we knew how to get to her class. She greeted us at the door and treated us like family in her amazing kitchen and dining room. My daughter and I loved her class and learned so much. She explained the history of making Japanese sweets before starting the process with us. We made so many sweets. Yuko made things so straightforward and easy. Yuko prepared so well for the class that we were able to participate in the fun and instructive parts without wasting any time. We made so many beautiful sweets such as a sunflower-shaped aweet l and watermelon and pineapple mochi. Yuko is an amazing maker of wagazhi, and her refrigerator is full of her beautiful creations. The class was easy to find on public transportation, too. If you are looking for something fun and meaningful and authentically Japanese to do when you are traveling to Tokyo, go to this class.

Dear Stacey-san,
Thank you so much for your wonderful and heartfelt review. I’m truly honored that you and your daughter joined my wagashi class and that you had such a meaningful and enjoyable experience. It was a pleasure welcoming you into my kitchen and sharing the traditions and techniques of Japanese sweets with you.
I’m especially glad to hear that you found the class both fun and informative, and that you enjoyed making so many beautiful sweets together. Your kind words about the preparation and hospitality mean a lot to me.
Thank you again for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review. I hope the memories—and perhaps the skills—you gained will stay with you for a long time. Wishing you both all the best, and you’re always welcome back anytime!
Warm regards,
Yuko

We had a great experience of making Mochi. This class is really great since it is just one table and the teacher, Yuko, who takes her time to explain you how to make Mochi and Wagashi. I really preferred this small atmosphere compared to other large classes where you can easily lack behind. Yuko also did a tea ceremony with us and explained us the ritual. Then, we took some pictures with our Mochi and Yuko. At the end, we got containers and packing provided for our Mochi so we could bring them back to our hotel.
I definitely recommend this workshop for people who want to have a real Japanese experience.

Yuko is a very kind and welcoming host. She took a lot of time to show me different kinds of mochi making step by step which I could imitate resulting into my own delicious mochi's. Her explanations about the ingredients, japanese traditions related to mochi and the making process were very interesting. Yuko came up with some really cute seasonal Halloween and autumn designs as well as traditional and modern style mochi. As we actually cooked in her family's home, the whole atmosphere was uniquely authentic. After cooking, we drank some matcha tea together and tasted some mochi. They were excellent! All in all, I would strongly recommend this class to everyone who enjoys cooking/baking!

I had a lovely time making these Japanese treats. There’s a few to make and many different skills to learn so it was fun and interesting. I felt very welcome and it was a 1:1 lesson. The location was easy to find and nearby the metro, I would totally recommend this as an interesting and authentic activity whilst visiting Japan! Thank you!! 😊

I had an excellent private class with Yuko-san. After an overview of traditional Japanese sweets, I have learned different techniques for some of them. This is a hands-on class where you get to do the sweets yourself while your instructor gives you constant feedback. This is not a generic nor group class, Yuko-san is very generous of her time and comments.
Response from Host, Jul 2024
Dear Dimitri-san.
Thank you for writing a wonderful review.
I couldn't be happier. Please try making mochi !!
Please come to my house again. Yuko.

Yuko was so kind and patient with us, and a wonderful guide through the art and process of creating Mochi. Yuko is very informative on the techniques, but what adds to the experience are the conversations about the cultural connection of mochi to traditions. Add to this the beautiful surroundings of the home and vista, and it made for a very memorable experience. We highly recommend!

Thank you Robert-san and your family for choosing my class. I also had a lot of fun meeting everyone. Thank you for your wonderful review. Please come again. Have a wonderful time in Japan! (^^)/

I ABSOLUTELY loved this class! Yuko was my instructor and she was the most sweetest and patient person. I felt like I was at home learning to cook with my mom ♥️ She walks you through everything step by step and goes over the significance and history behind each dessert. Not to mention they were soooo good I wish I could’ve kept eating them. She sent me home with a take out tray of sweets and a goodie bag for keepsakes. We began the experience with some amazing tea and finished it off with some delicious matcha. I will most definitely return for another class when I visit Japan so if you are thinking about booking this activity BOOK IT!

Fantastique ! j’ai adoré. Yuko est une Japonaise très aimable et très douée pour nous expliquer l’art de faire différents mochis. J’ai été heureuse de faire l’expérience dans sa maison. J’ai appréciée la cérémonie du thé.
Yuko is an excellent teacher to show us how to do different mochi. She is so nice and it was so pleasant to go to her place. I did appreciate the tea ceremony. 10/10.
