Gem in Asakusa
I had a great time at this knife making class in Asakusa. The instructor was very knowledgeable and explained the sharpening process in a way that was easy to understand, even for a complete beginner like me.
It was fascinating to learn about Japanese knives and the techniques used to maintain them properly. The hands-on practice was the highlight of the experience, and I was surprised by how much sharper my knife became by the end of the class.

So much fun
Great experience making chopsticks with my family. A great and memorable souvenir from our trip. Many types of wood to choose from - only 3 choices are included with the Viator booking, but the rest are available at a discounted price for people who booked through Viator. Engraving of the chopsticks is an additional fee, but is not required.

Group Experience 5/31
Apologies for the cursing that’s about to occur fr but this shi was fun asf, we had Momo which if you ain’t know she’s the goat! Fr put on us on places to eat and was just a vibe to overall, w hostess and instructor on the process of making our own chopsticks. Very sure all the hostess are also goats in there own aspect but Momo was THE goat like Wembanyama game 7 goat level status. But no on a real note great experience highly recommend coming here if you can and have the time it’s around a hour experience and you’ll leave with a nice souvenir.

Fun time, very satisfying!
Such a fun experience on a rainy day. Using the wood shaver and sanding the wood felt almost therapeutic. Next time, I will plan on making a pair of chopsticks instead of one. Watching the laser engraving is pretty cool. There was another class happening at the same time, mosaic pottery I think, which also seemed popular. Nice, big space on the 10F with lots of staff helpers. I will definitely come again.

10/10 would do again!
I did the Kintsugi workshop with my family and it was so fun!! First, you get to select which piece you’d like to work with. Each piece is pre-broken. Most are one crack (broken in two pieces) but some have 3 pieces. The 3 pieces are definitely harder/take longer, FYI. The workshop is supposed to be 1.5 hours; we took closer to 2 hours.
Our teacher, Mayuki, told us this was her second time teaching and she did wonderfully!! She led us through the process step by step and also told us a bit about the history and lore behind Kintsugi.
I would recommend this, even for folks who aren’t “artsy” or good with their hands. It wa such a fun experience.
My only feedback is that the studio we were working in had several class sessions going on at once so it was hard to hear our instructor sometimes. The process of filing the edges created a lot of dust and so I’d definitely recommend wearing a mask so you don’t breathe the dust in. They don’t tell you to do so but safety wise, I’d highly recommend!!

Best chopstick making class in Toyko! Go here no joke!
Just finished a chopstick-making class in Shibuya and it was easily one of the best experiences I’ve had in Japan. The two gentlemen running it are incredibly hands-on the entire time—they really guide you through every step so you’re not just watching, you’re actually creating something you’re proud of.
They’re also super friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience feel relaxed and personal rather than like a typical class. One thing I really appreciated is how small they keep the group sizes. It never felt rushed—they made sure to spend real, quality time with each person.
On top of that, they gave amazing recommendations for food spots and places to check out in different towns, which honestly made the experience even more valuable.
10 out of 10 recommend. If you’re considering a chopstick-making class in Shibuya, do this one over any other.

Perfect blend of history, culture, hands-on experience
This was a wonderful and memorable experience - highly recommend. It was the perfect mix of history and hands-on experience. We learned so much and had a great time. We loved hearing about the clan history, the various weapons, dressing as a ninja, trying some skills out. The woman who owns the dojo (whose descended from a great samurai house) and the gentleman samurai and female scribe were great - so kind and knowledgeable.

Fun activity to make a memento of your trip!
We had a very good experience here! We accidentally went to a different Nane location and were almost an hour late for our appointment. the staff messaged us and helped us go to the right place. They were so kind and patient with us! They explained all the different options we have when making a ring! Ring shape, width, metal, and design. I can't emphasize enough how patient the staff was. They taught us how to hammer and size our own rings, so much fun!!!! We had our rings polished as well, and they took only an hour and a half until they were ready. They have silver, white gold. Rose gold, yellow gold, and green gold, as well as combinations of each of the metals! We added on engraving option for a very good price too! I definitely recommend coming here!

Fun DIY experience!
The experience was very fun! It had a good edutainment aspect of value that I enjoyed. The ceramic was pre-broken for us to choose, I wish there were more style varieties to choose from. The instructions were very clear and the video was also easy to follow. I think it would be good to extent the estimated experience time to 1.25 hrs as it seems like people took extra time to create their kintsugi plates and ask questions. I think the value of the experience was quite worth it and they also sell a kit you can take home to try out.

Fun family class!
Wow! What a fun experience as a family of four. We were able to pick two pieces of long rectangular wood of our choice and make chopsticks using a tools and sanding. The instructions were clear and my 10 & 12 year old
could do it on their own. Everyone could sand the chopsticks down to whatever shape they wanted to make it more personal. We all got them engraved for 1000 yen extra. We had a great time making our own personal souvenir. Would highly recommend!!!

Title is misleading; no...
Title is misleading; no knife making only sharpening. Pay upcharge for bigger knife. Fun and friendly staff. Tought me how to sharpen my kitchen knife. Great experience overall. I wish there was engraving on the blade itself as well and not just the handle.
