Not worth the price tag

This tour is way overpriced, you can eat on your own for three days in Tokyo and enjoy much better food. Tour guide provides no insight about the food's origin/components or Japanese culture, neither Japanese nor English was his first language. We do not recommend this tour.

An excellent tour

This is our first time in Japan. Our guide was patient with us, showing us small restaurants that featured many types of Japanese foods. She explained the history of the Ueno area and Tokyo generally. Because we had a small group, we were able to enjoy conversation with her too.

It was such a pleasant experience! Got to meet some great people and try very tasty foods. We were already In Japan for a week but had not tried anything like these places! Matcha ice cream was my personal favorite and I definitely recommend trying this out on your trip!

Simply a great tour by great people. 👍🏾 I cannot recommend it highly enough. Only suggestion is that you skip breakfast before the tour because you will eat and eat a lot of great food.

A perect start to our Japan trip: lots of good food and cultural background

Yumi was a fantastic guide and took us to wondeful places we wouldn’t have found on our own. There were a total of 7 stops and by the 3rd one, I was so full. We got sushi, gyoza, croquette, yakitori and a surprise stop which was sukiyaki (my all time favorite dish and was a whole meal by itself) plus two sweets at the end. Yumi was very kind and provided us lots of insights and information about history and culture. We also had a wondeful small group so it was so nice to meet and interact with other tourists. I think it was also well spaced out and appreciated the brief walks in between stops. The Ueno district was really cool and I can’t wait to go back and visit the restaurants we went to and try some other ones. Highly recommend this tour, especially at the start of your Japan trip.
