Tokyo Bike Tour Review

TOM_Z, Apr 2026
We had a magical afternoon riding through the streets of Tokyo with Thichi as our guide. The tour felt thoughtfully curated from start to finish—gliding past cherry blossoms in 2 different parks, weaving through quiet residential neighborhoods and charming hidden pathways, and making our way to the iconic Shibuya Crossing. One of the highlights was how seamlessly the experience blended biking with a quick hop onto the subway to see a famous painting with a fascinating story behind it, something we never would have discovered or appreciated on our own. We also explored the markets within the subway, which added a unique and local feel to the experience. The tour included vibrant city spots and a peaceful local shrine, giving us a real sense of Tokyo’s many layers. Thichi brought everything to life with his knowledge of the city’s history and his personal stories. We also met other lovely people on the tour, shared plenty of laughs, and felt completely immersed the whole time. It was the perfect balance of culture, adventure, and fun—an experience we’ll remember for a long time.

Private Curated 4 Hour Tokyo Tour

Minseon_L, Apr 2026
Our 4 hour private tour with Hiro our guide was amazing! Hiro was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. We travelled by metro to various places which was very efficient. We wanted a unique experience and he delivered a curated experience. We were able to see beautiful cherry blossoms at Shinjuku Gyoen Park, sake tasting through the Japan Sake information centre and walk through the Ningyocho neighborhood. Hiro recommended a local Wagyu steak house in Ningyocho for lunch. It was the best steak we had ever had. We would highly recommend Hiro and this customized private tour.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Dear Minseon; Thanks for your nice feedback. I am happy to hear that you and your family enjoyed the tour. I also enjoyed introducing nice people in Ningyocho and good food there. I hope your stay in Japan is safe and enjoyable! All the best and hope to see you soon. Hiro

We found this to be a really good way to see a lot of Tokyo that we would otherwise have not been able to find on our own. Going via public transport was also a big help as we now know how to do this for the rest of our stay. Miyuki is very knowledgeable, easy to understand and was able to conduct the tour at our pace so that we could stop and look at what we wanted to along the way.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Hi Jo san & family! Thank you so much for your great review!!! Now you became a expert for the public transport in Tokyo. It was a pleasure taking you to various places, from famous sights to my own neighborhood. I believe exploring the quiet, local side of town offers a truly special experience. Next time, I hope to show you the beauty of a different season—perhaps the seasonal blooms or the traditional Japanese gardens we couldn't visit today. Your friend, Miyuki

Great first experience of Tokyo, Japan with a fun & engaging tour guide

BENJAMIN_L, Dec 2025
It was a pleasure for my family and I to be taken care of by Hitomi San. She was engaging, funny and took great care of us. We visited a museum, a local park and the must-see temples and shrines where she shared historical references and explained why , when and how certain customs, practices and beliefs came to be. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Japan and we had the good fortune of being paired with an excellent tour guide. I highly recommend Hitomi San to anyone who intends to visit Tokyo, especially first timers.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Personalized Tour highlights of Tokyo with exceptional guide

Tracyleigh_m, Nov 2025
What an amazing tour! We were fortunate to have Kaz as our tour guide— he truly is exceptional. He communicated with us beforehand on our interests and we told him our must see list. He also made suggestions . One suggestion was that we happened to have booked the tour on Nov 24, which is the annual good fortune festival ( Torinoichi) How fun to experience this local tradition. He mapped out the most efficient route for our travel. Accompanied us on the subway and helped us navigate public transit, sent menus and restaurant recommendations for our dietary & food allergies. We had the most amazing day seeing the highlights of Tokyo and more. I give this tour and the tour guide Kaz the highest rating.

Response from Host, Nov 2025

I really am impressed by the time with you two in our day during your trip to JAPAN and appreciate much for your high evaluation. Hopefully limited hours in TOKYO becomes unforgettable memory. ASAKUSA, fortune festival once a year , two Hachi-statues, Imperial palace garden, SHIBUYA enegetic crossing , places we visited was soo fantastic! with the conversation with you as well on the way! Thank you from KAZ

Best first day in Tokyo!

Elise_B, Oct 2025
We had the best first day in Tokyo with Hitomi as our private guide! She met us at our hotel that morning for our 6 hour private tour which really took the pressure off us navigating the city on day one to meet her. It is a completely customizable tour but we decided to let her choose a good first day intro to the city which did not disappoint! We went to a few temples (the 2 main ones and a smaller less crowded one). We learned the customs and culture there which was amazing. We stopped at some yummy sweet shops and bought some nice souvenirs. It was nice to learn the meaning behind the items we bought. We found a kanzashi hair pin shop, and I had no problem idea how to use. The girls at the shop took videos of how to use and after some practice that night I finally figured it out! I went back the next day and bought a few more I loved them so much! Such a cool souvenir to remember my time in Tokyo! We went for lunch at an all you can eat yakiniku (Japanese bbq), and it was so good! We are picky eaters and loved it! It again was so nice the first day to just have the pressure of a language barrier and navigating off our shoulders. We went a festival and had some drinks then experienced and saw the Shibuya scramble from a view! It was such a great day. Hitomi even messaged me throughout our trip to see how it was going and gave me more recommendations for our trip. We have done many tours in many countries but this one was such a treat! Highly recommend especially since it’s private so it’s really tailored to your preferences! You won’t be disappointed booking with Hitomi!

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Thank you for your kind review! The Kanzashi you bought was really suits you. Japanese women wear this ornament when we wear Kimono, I always love to use it even wearing ordinary clothes. I hope your mom and sister like the Kanzashi. Wishing you coming back to Japan in the near future! Hitomi

Corina_C, Sep 2025
Very useful especially if you are visiting for the first time. Our guide Hitomi, apart from being very friendly, she gave us a detailed presentation on the history of the events we visited : Imperial royal garden, Meji jingu and Shibuya crossing. At the end she introduced us to one of the Japanese culinary experiences - yakitori restaurant. Excellent choice!! Thank you Hitomi!

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you for your kind message. As both of you were enthusiastic to learn a lot about Japanese culture, history and social system, I also enjoyed talking with you. Enjoy the rest of stay in Japan!

Excellent first day in Japan

Janene_F, Jun 2025
Our guide Miyuki was amazing! Delightful personality and she shared so much history along the way which my son and I appreciated as this was not only our first trip to Japan but our first DAY in Japan. The two major places we went were: The Tsukiji Fish Market and the Senso-ji Temple but she sprinkled in other attractions along the way (and taught us how to use the metro)! We are very grateful for such a lovely introduction to Japan.

Response from Host, Jun 2025

Hi Janene san! Thanks so much for the kind words! Honestly, I thought you two were a young couple at first, but it was clear you and your son were both so curious and enthusiastic. I was really impressed by how closely you listened and even took notes! (Haha!) Even though it rained, the time we spent together was truly precious. I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip in Tokyo and Kyoto to the fullest! I'm really looking forward to seeing you & your family again in a different season. Next time, let's definitely share some sake! Your friend, Miyuki

4 hour private tour

Amy_C, Apr 2025
Our guide, Miho was amazing!! She inquired in advance what we wanted to see and then scheduled our time appropriately. Miho was very informative and organized. Thank you Miho for a great tour!!

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Thank you so much for your wonderful review!! I really enjoyed exploring Tokyo with you. We saw beautiful azaleas and wisterias and new portable shrines. It was fun to do Omikuji (fortune telling) at Asakusa Temple and all of us got lucky fortune!! All the best for the travelling ahead in China.

Best Tokyo walking tour with Kaz

Elisa_Q, Apr 2025
We had an amazing time with Kaz on our private guided all day walking tour of Tokyo. I highly recommend booking this tour on your second day of arrival to help familiarize yourself with this busy and energétic city. Kaz took us around Tokyo and gave us a great orientation of how to maneuver their public transportation. Our tour encompassed a good mix of sights that represented Japan’s históry, culture and beauty. Kaz went far and beyond to make this a most memorable experience. It felt like we were visiting with a friend.

Response from Host, Apr 2025

I’m greatly flattered by your great evaluation. All are thanks to your kindness. That limited 8 hours and places we shared with your family in TOKYO were impressive and unforgettable! Especially, wide variety of Azaleas welcomes you! I strongly hope you‘ve got the fortunate experience of your stay in JAPAN!!! Again, Thank you for coming to JAPAN KAZ

Worth Your Time and Money!

nathaniel_b, Apr 2025
My wife and I chose the public transport half-day tour and had Hitomi as our guide. Everything went well and communication with her on WhatsApp was easy to discuss what we wanted to see. We were picked up at our hotel and, just as described, had our own private guide to Tokyo, it's attractions, and it's public transportation system. This was our first time to Japan, and i recommend this company. I also recommend this tour specifically at the beginning of your time in Japan as Hitomi was helpful with all aspects of navigating this amazing city and providing insights on other tours or sights to visit. Worth the money, a memorable highlight of our vacation.

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Thank you for your great review! I was happy to be your guide for two days. I was impressed with that you knew exactly what your wife is interested in. She looked very happy with her shopping at Yanaka. Please come and visit us again in the near future!

Truly amazing Mother/Son memories made in Tokyo 2025

Nico_R, Mar 2025
I cannot speak more highly of the Omakase team - Miyuki- san, Hitomi -san and Kaz-san in Tokyo. Months before our arrival, a WhatsApp group was set up and frequent suggestions of things to do were sent across. As I was traveling with my 17 year old son as a graduation present and it was his first time in Japan, I wanted to make sure his interests were catered for and our 8 days were something he would always remember - we got that more!. We were fortunate to see several shrines/temples from the well known (Senso-ji/Meiji Jingu) to the not so well known, and smaller ones dotted around the neighborhoods including a fire ceremony. All, no matter how big or small are fascinating to see and experience - grab a fortune, write on a tablet and hang it up for luck, help etc. Truly an experience for the books - we had the opportunity to book a private Samurai Sword experience with a Master Samurai given Hitomi-san is a student of the master. Not only did we learn how to use actual samurai swords but you are dressed in full Samurai regalia - not something you do everyday and well worth it to absorb more of the Japanese culture. The Omakase team went above and beyond to secure almost impossible Ghibli Museum tickets - trust me, I sat on the phone for 90 minutes in a queue of 18,000 people only to come up empty handed. Miyuki-san made it happen! On top of all the adventures and great food suggestions, we were also taught how to use the public transport system - together with Google Maps, we were able to find our way all over Tokyo and save hundreds of $'s. All in all, a very memorable and happy trip for a mother and son - something we will remember and cherish forever. Whether you know Tokyo or not, I highly recommend the Omakase team to help you with any adventure you wish to have.

Response from Host, Mar 2025

Thank you for such a heartwarming message. Our team is very happy that you and your son had a good time in Japan. Our team worked hard as professional interpreter-guides for another company until last October, and we received over 1,000 5-star reviews from our guests. However, we decided to start our own company to offer tailor-made tours that better fit our guests' needs. Although we are a new company, established less than six months ago, we are a group of people with the same passion and desire to share Japanese culture and traditions. I once guided you through Tokyo, when you stopped at the end of a business trip. I was thrilled when you told me that you would be coming to Japan again for your son's graduation celebration trip! We hope to welcome you and your son again in another season. Your friend Miyuki

Customized tour of Tokyo

Fredrica_S, Mar 2025
An exceptional all-day private tour with the fabulous Miyuki. We not only saw some iconic Tokyo “must sees” but also were taken to fascinating areas of the city with food markets, local shopping and delicious culinary experiences we never would have know about. A very full, very fulfilling and highly enjoyable day.

Response from Host, Mar 2025

Fredrica san! Thank you for your heartwarming comments. After the Giants Official Store we went to a small restaurant in my neighborhood that I often visit. I am so glad you liked the Gyoza dumplings and Japanese style fried chicken, which are very popular among local businessmen and students. It was a cold day, so the warm sake was also great! We think it is easy to visit common tourist attractions on your own, so with your agreement, we try to take you to these places that you would never go without a guide. Please contact us again the next time you come to Japan. There are still many other places we would like to take you! ...and Kanpai together!! Your friend Miyuki
