If it's only for knives, go directly

Stephen_U, Jun 2025
My wife and I were the only ones on the tour so the guide adjusted to what we wanted. Shortened the history & area tour as it was only the knives I was really interested in. Akiko, our guide, was very knowledgeable and was flexible in meeting my requirements. I'm sure the full tour would be interesting. If you are just interested in the knives & kitchen supplies and know what you want, then just head down on your own to the shopping street. Remember your passport for tax-free purchases.

Great history and...

Great history and cultural tour of the neighborhood. Kay was so informative and helpful when we were choosing our knife.

Excellent morning of sights and shopping

I had my tour with Sue. She was an excellent guide and gave some good history and stories of Asakusa. Visiting kitchen street was also a good add on. Information given in the lead up to the tour also excellent with contact details for the guide and specific meeting instructions. I recommend this tour.

Sensoji temple history and shopping for knives

ken_p, Oct 2024
Amy was a great tour guide. My wife and I were staying in the Asakusa area and very close to the Sendai temple, Amy helped us understand the history of the temple. To top it off, we saw the street in Asakusa which sold Japanese knives. We ended up buying several knives as gifts for our chef friends.
