This is an exceptional experience to know about Japanese tradition. Making matcha tea, watching Geisha dance, making origami and Kanji writing all in one was perfect. And the price is affordable. If you travel to Tokyo I highly recommend Edocco Teahouse❤️

The ovely women at the Japanese culture center we're absolutely amazing! I'm not often given to hyperbole, but this was truly a memorable experience. They gracefully moved us through the four experiences without feeling rushed. We learned about the tea ceremony and got to make our own matcha. We watched three Japanese dances with explanations of how certain movements actually told a story. Then it was on to origami. I'm legally blind and was sure that I would be unable to participate in the intricate folding necessary to make a paper crane whose wings flapped. However, the women there went around our small group helping everyone and I was able to complete it without feeling like I was a burden or slowing the class down. The last experience was Japanese brush writing. We had quality materials to work with and each stroke was explained to us. They even went around and showed us how to write our names in Japanese so we could sign our masterpiece and take it home. I truly can't say enough good things about this experience. My son and I have been traveling around Japan for 2 months now and this was definitely our favorite experience of them all. It was almost as if we were transported into Japanese culture rather than being tourists simply observing it from a distance. This is definitely the one experience you don't want to miss.

Excellent mix of highlights of the Japanese culture. Warm welcome and great explanations, in small group, very personnalised. We learned a lot and had a lot of fun: Geisha dance, kimono dressing, tea ceremony in short, writing, origami. All with a nice team to take care of us.

An excellent activity with so many fun things. EDOCCO is so efficient and fits all these activities into only an hour. They are super friendly and inviting and do an excellent job teaching about Japanese culture and bridging the gap between cultures! Not only are all these activities fun but their location is excellent and right near a shrine. I would make this activity a priority when you are in Japan.

We loved this experience! It provided several aspects of traditional Japanese culture and the staff was extremely nice and knowledgeable. It was available in English as well which was nice for us. I would HIGHLY recommend this for anyone visiting Tokyo.

The geisha dance was a stunning performance. I didn’t want it to end. The geisha helped us make oragami. And the main host was an excellent calligraphy instructor. And learning the history of Maaccha is a lesson I’ll remember

We did this with our kids (8 and 11) and they loved learning how to make matcha tea, calligraphy, making origami and my daughter especially loved dressing in a kimono and learning about traditional dance moves, using a fan. It was such a nice experience and the people teaching us were so kind!

This was a really fantastic experience (14/03/23). The staff were exceptional. We learned so much from them about Japanese culture their knowledge was educational and informative. Origami and Calligraphy were engrossing and the staff were so patient, friendly and kind. The Geisha dancing was beautiful and a pleasure to watch we were given an understanding of the significance of the dance and the various movements throughout. This tour was appropriately held in a cultural centre with lovely surroundings. So glad we had this experience and a big thank you and sincere respect for the staff who were with us. Viator please update your travel details for this venue and cultural centre as it should not be missed. We travelled via Subway on the Marunouchi line to stop (M20) Ochanomiza crossed over road, up a stairs to flyover road bridge turned left and then first right at intersection - it was a short distance.

Myself and my kids really enjoyed this. The venue was perfect and the event was very well organized. We all enjoyed the matcha tea making, origami, Geisha dance and dress up, and calligraphy. I rate it 4 stars instead of 5 because the Geisha dance was less than 10 mins and too short to appreciate this form of dance.
