Koji was our instructor and he was great! We really enjoyed this hands on activity in Shinjuku and it is cool to come back with a souvenir. The location was clean and the instructors were very nice. A great hour spent in Tokyo at a very nice shop!

Once we found the venue it was excellent. Tom helped us choose our wood and explained any additional costs we could choose. We then had the lovely Marija who was very helpful and answered our questions in English fluently. Was a great experience.

My family signed up for this fun exertion while we were in Tokyo. We were somewhat surprised when we walked into the room and saw all the people in there. There was not an empty seat in tbe room, amd there were 30 seats maybe. I thought it was going to be more of a one on one type of direction. That being said, we had a great time. You get to pick out what type of wood to use. There were 2 free options but if you wanted some really nice wood, cherry wood etc there was an extra fee. The class took aboit one hour. I dont want to spoil the class by explaining the process but it was worth the time and money.

We wanted to try a new experiance and saw chopsticks making we were not sure what to expect as we have never tried before . The staff were so friendly and gave us great advice on choosing the correct wood for our chopsticks.. All the instructions were in great detail we laughed and learned a new skill which we were all surprised at and took home a lovely keep sake

A great way to make a unique souvenir while in Tokyo. They have lots of different woods to choose from (some at an additional cost), and also offer personal engravings. My only complaint is that I typically enjoy learning a bit about the process before doing the craft, but they do not do that here. They walk you through the process and assist you when you need help, it's just not a personal experience like other craft experiences we did. Definitely a fun process to experience and one to do if you're looking for a quick activity!

The chopstick making class was amazing! We got there a little early but they accomodated us right away as they had the space. It was crowded since there were so many people in the space but once you sit down there's enough space for you to work. Let me just say, you're gonna get a workout and this gave us a new appreciation for woodworkers!! My son who was 11 chose the hardest wood but even he got the hang of it after a little while and we think out of the 4 of us (me husband daughter and son,) his chopsticks were the best made lol! Shoutout to Apryll who helped us the most, but then all the attendants came in to check on us and everyone there was so helpful even when my husband was planing and shaving his wood against the grain lol. Listen to instructions carefully and you'll come out with a lovely and memorable souvenir! We each paid extra to get the engraving too - trust us, it's worth it! 🥰🤩

We had such a fun time! Katana was so kind and helpful. She guided us through the entire process and the result were two pair of stunning rosewood chopsticks with a special anniversary engraving added to celebrate our 45 years together! This was a great experience for solo travelers and your family. You pay for the class, and you pay for the wood you use once you're inside. The guides will instruct you, so please pay attention so you don't mess up.
