The tour was as described, but we didn't find it to be worth the cost. Our tour guide could have given more information - starting with introducing herself before launching into her spiel! She did tell us what each sight is, but didn't give much contextualization or color to the stories. For example, when we stopped for lunch, she pointed at three different options and told us we had 45 minutes, but no suggestions on what foods to try or what flavors are local specialties. We saw lots of shrines and temples and learned when they were constructed and by whom, but didn't learn much about the different religions and how they impact Japanese history and culture. I know we walked through Harajuku because there was a sign for it, but we didn't talk about what is special or interesting about this part of town. More than just names of sights and dates, we wanted to know about Japanese culture and customs and that wasn't really included. We did this tour to get our bearings on our first day in Japan and we didn't find it all that useful for that purpose.

We were quite disappointed with this tour. Unfortunately, the guide seemed tired and unengaged, and shared very little information throughout the experience. It was also quite difficult to understand him at times, which made it even harder to follow along.
We ended up relying on our own research to learn about the places we visited. While we appreciate the effort, the main reason we booked a guided tour was to have someone knowledgeable and enthusiastic share insights and stories with us.
Overall, the experience felt rushed and lacked energy. To be honest, it didn’t seem like the guide enjoyed what he was doing, and that affected the atmosphere of the tour. We hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future guests.

This was a great walking tour of Tokyo along with metro rides to move between areas. The guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. I was the only one on the tour and it was cold and rainy but she did a great job and was very responsive to any questions I had.

Suzana was an amazing guide. Very knowledgeable. From fun facts about each place we visited to getting on the train. I learned so much on this tour about the history and culture of Japan. To finding some hiding gems along the way. I would 100% recommend this tour to all my friends. Especially if it’s Suzana leading the way.

Our guide Mary was wonderful! She gave us a great background of the Japanese culture and history. Mary explained customs, beliefs and gave us insight and understanding of the Japanese people. Having such an knowledable guide made this a very eye opening experience. The itinerary was a good overview of Japan from the past to the present. Be forwarned, there is lots of walking,!!! (we did about 17,000 steps) may not seem alot for younger people, but we were in our late 60's. Mary was very considerate with resting and bathroom stops. Overall, I'd say book this excursion, and hopefully you'll get Mary.

It was a fantastic activity with the my trip friends and with our guide Suzana. We have made a deep dive into the center of Tokyo city and learn the sights with from different perspectives. Even we have seem the railway lines of Tokyo is a great experience. I recommend this tour to the new commers to Tokyo to learn better the city from a snapshot to detail.

I has a list of sights I wanted to see in Tokyo. And read that this tour had many of them covered. I thought its much better to have a guide explaining everything than doing them on my own.
Thankfully, I couldn’t be happier. Mary was great. She was insightful, patient, very well aware of the Japanese culture and know the history of the country.
I was also lucky to be the only one that day! So it was like a private tour!
I totally recommend doing this tour with Mary!
