We had the most amazing experience at Angela's home, learning how to cook traditional pasta and tiramisu. Even though Angela's son was not there to help translate due to work commitments (our Italian is close to zero), through the wonders of google translate and working together to understand we barely even noticed the language barrier. The food we cooked was amazing, and learning the history behind Sicilian cooking is something we will definitely take home with us and continue to use! Even my Wife, who has been rolling pasta all her life, learned a new way of making pasta to continue to perfect! Angela's apartment was amazing and she was the most generous host. We hope we can come back one day to show off our new found cooking skills along with hopefully our new found Italian language skills!!

Bad experience

This was the most unprofessional and unsanitary experience we have ever had! Upon arrival, we were escorted into a cluttered apartment and asked if we minded that the host had two old dogs. Surprise! The dogs were big and constantly under our feet in the kitchen during prep. They were mangy and coughed and huffed throughout. Our host smoked adding to the discomfort. No sanitizer, hosts’ hair was not covered and bare hands used on pasta. Two very simple dishes that a child could handle. Dessert was a gelatin type pudding already prepared. On the bright side, the cook’s soon was a good translator. We would hv left but our driver had gone. We have requested a refund.

Dear costumer i'm really happy to reply to you: - first, the host asked you if you like dogs and fi she could let them free or if you'd preferred to have them remain in a room, YOU said you LOVE dogs and you would prefer to let them free - the host never smoked in the house especially with clients during a cooking - you laughted with the host while singing "That's Amore "song and others - you told the host she should work in New York as a chef - you hugged her and thanks her before leaving the house We are all really confused because it seemed you had such a great time, but then you asked us for a total refund, we deny it since you had the cooking and dinner, and you wrote this review.

Anna the chef was really nice and homey. The food that we prepared was very tasteful. The workshop is great. I would recommed it to everyone! :)

Memorable evening with a brilliant host and cook

Anna was the perfecthostess and teacher, welcoming us into her home and making the whole evening a memoranle one. She was not only a wonderful cook and teacher but very interesting and great company. We were taught how to make the most delicious fresh pasta, risotto and caponata. And then enjoyed it with wine and good company. Anna went the extra mile and gave us some wonderful recommendations for the next day when we visited Napoli. Thank you Anna for a wonderful evening.

This is highly recommended activity in Catania. Our host Miss Daniela and Mr Francesco gave us a wonderful night that you won't forget!! Homemade dishes are very tasty. We enjoy a lot!!

Bought this as a Christmas present for my whole family while we were in Catania and it was definitely my favorite part of the trip! We cooked with Barbi, Silvia and Antonio. They were so welcoming and friendly. We learned how to cook spinach and feta tortellinis and then we were served a 4 course meal that included wine. After dinner, we had such a great time talking with the family over homemade limoncello and walnut liquor! This experience is perfect for getting to experience Sicilian culture on a first-hand basis. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a true Sicilian experience. Bravo!
