We had a fantastic time on the tour! Alessandro was knowledgeable and passionate about every aspect, from the history of the volcano to the culture of the area, and that made it a really interesting and enjoyable day. There is a short trek at the end of the tour which is worth being aware of, but we were able to take it at our own pace, and it was worth it for the spectacular view of the sunset at the top. Shout out to Antonio who was a great driver and very courteous with an excellent CD mix.

Alessandro was a great guide and we had a great trip to Mt. Etna. It’s snowed so the lava caves were buried, but we had fun and lots of selfies with our guide. I highly recommend.

Alessandro was an amazing tour guide who knows so much about Mt Etna, but presents it in a way that kept our 10 & 13 yo boys engaged the whole time while we all learned. We loved seeing the lava flows, a lava vein cave and pole trekking on Mt Etna. The weather wasn’t the best the day of our trip but we were able to still do everything, miss most of the rain, find the sun and a little snow. Trekking on Mt Etna is like being in a magical other realm and my 10 yo really had a blast. The Sicilian products were also delicious and lunch at the Refugio was amazing. You shouldn’t miss the tour with Alessandro or Mt Etna during your time in Sicily, it’s a must do!

The tour started a little shaky as traffic caused a delay but once we got out of the city and started the real part of the tour we were mesmerized! Alessandro provided a wealth of knowledge about Mt. Etna and her many varied eruptions. Walking the lava fields and crawling through the tubes beneath them made for a memorable experience.
Having a nice lunch and some wine from the region just rounded out the day!
His sharing the experience of growing up and living in the shadows of Etna just made it that much better.

Fantastic adventure from start to finish. Alessandro, our guide, provided an explanation of the two types of volcanoes. We explored a cave created by a lava vein. We had an opportunity to walk on the "moon" of ash created by a past Mt. Etna eruption. We were also treated to lunch. The tour was safe and well paced by an extraordinary guide

Alessandro and team don't just give you a tour of Etna, you get an introduction to the winemaking in the area, the geology of the volcano and a genuinely friendly and fun experience. You're in safe hands if you're nervous about traipsing up an active volcano and peering into lava caves.

Was interesting. Guides were great. My advise would be if on a cruise like we were rethink doing this activity. From the Messina Cruise Port its 1 1/2 hours one way so it left us very little time. You do not go near the summit and are at the pace of the slowest person in group. We had 20 minutes to have lunch and a guide took me and husband back to boat. Very grateful they watched time and made sure we did not miss ship.

It was great from the beginning to the end , they pick us up from the hotel, to the start of the trip in the vineyard to etna mount and even the light meal in the middle of the trip, alessandro was very nice kind and professional , however we were unlucky because of the stormy weather , it was enjoyable adventure with alessandro

The tour guide never showed, so the driver, who only speaks Italian, did his best with his English speaking customers. Due to weather, most listed activities weren't possible for safety reasons, so it turned into a $120 brunch.
If thunderstorms and lightning make the tour impossible due to safety reasons, and the forecast calls for thunderstorms, then the tour should be cancelled and the money refunded before it ever begins so as not to waste everyone's time and money. Very disappointing.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I sincerely apologize for not being able to personally accompany you on the tour that day. Unfortunately, due to the sudden worsening of weather conditions, I was blocked and, for safety reasons, it was not possible for me to reach you.
In order not to cancel your experience altogether, I immediately arranged for another guide to pick you up and ensure the excursion could take place. However, as the weather further deteriorated, for the safety of all participants the itinerary had to be adjusted during the tour.
As I could not be present myself and fully deliver the experience we always aim to provide, I promptly contacted you directly and arranged a refund in agreement with you. As shown in our exchanges, you kindly expressed your gratitude for the care, attention, and professionalism we tried to maintain despite the difficult circumstances.
I deeply regret that the weather prevented us from making your day as special as we wished, and once again I apologize. The satisfaction and safety of our guests are always my top priority, as reflected in the many positive reviews we are proud to receive.

The Mt.Etna experience is so much more than you can imagine. History, geology, botany and wonder. Allessandro’s analogy makes the whole volcano relatable and easy to understand.from volcanic ash to boulders, mineral rainbows to volcanic “worm tunnels”, you will understand how this earth is held together. And the final trek up and around the craters will leave you dreaming you were there when earth began. You will never forget Mt. Etna…nor will you gorget Allessandro!!

Enjoyed the experience and highlights of Mt Etna with Alessandro who is an amazing and passionate guide. The “jeep” may have been a little old and dirty but it got us up the mountain. Special mention for Gabriella, our young driver from Syracuse, who did a great job particularly bringing us safely back to the ship on time.

Alessandro was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and passionate about volcanos and the history of this particular volcano. We also had the opportunity to visit a local winery to try local wines and honey.

Alessandro was very knowledgeable and took us to places that the cruise excursions didn’t. For example we went to the lava tubes, we also went to the lave flow which cruise stayed at the base. Finally he took us to the lava desert which he took us on a hike and we went to the bottom of a crater also a spot which was only reached by us on a private tour. He was very informative and took us to wine tasting of the region which were great, different olive oils and honey tasting delish. Finally he treated us to a cipollina which all I can say is wow delish Definitely recommend if you are looking for something different and more personalized. Had an amazing time!!!

Bring water, good tennis shoes or hiking shoes, Alessandro, was amazing so was Antonio. Very passionate and knowledgeable about 🌋 Volcanos and Sicily. Wonderful experience tasting all things Sicily, showing us videos where Lava once flowed where we stood. Would absolutely recommend, inexpensive for what we received in our opinion. Very organized, on time, excellent communication, we all had a wonderful time. They took lots of pictures of us so we didn’t have to worry about taking pictures which was a huge bonus!

Tour guides were friendly. Driver communicated well on pickup and was on time, with meetup at our hotel. All 4 tour stops were ok. first was a lava flow - interesting but not that impressive. next, visit to winery and tasting. this was fun. next, inside a lava cave. not a very large cave. worth 10 minutes of time. finally, to the crater. we thought this was an off-road jeep adventure, but there was no off-roads or jeeps. we had rented a car and could have done this entire tour on our own. the explanations by the guide were informative, but this was just really a drive to the top of the mountain. by the way, you do not really go to the top, only to one crater about half way or two-thirds up. i am not sure if it is even possible to go to the too, other than hiking.

I would give this tour a 10/10 if I could. Sensational tour and Alessandro was not only extremely knowledgeable but also absolutely lovely.
He explained his love of Mt Etna through informed information and a series of videos.
It was the perfect ending to amazing Sicily.

Amazing views of mountains Etna and exploration of the craters and the lava tubes (caves). We enjoyed the enthusiasm and all the knowledge Alessandro, our guide, offered. He was super accommodating, very prepared and ready to answer all of our questions. We visited a local winery and enjoyed not only the wine but also the variety of local pestos, olives and honey. We will defiantly return!

We had a great time exploring the calderas of Mount Aetna. Our guide Allesandro was amazing. His communication with us before the tour was spot on. He was very easy to find the morning we docked. And his knowledge of the mountain is extraordinary. He even provides videos via an iPad to help explain what we are seeing. Make sure you wear sturdy shoes as you will be walking on old lava flows. The guides provide trekking poles and helmets when needed. Alessandro and his assistant Antonio took great care of us and I highly recommend this tour. We had a lot of fun and learned a lot. Bonus was meeting “Mr. Alfie” working in his vineyard and telling us about his vines. Don’t miss this tour if you are interested in volcanoes or you like to hike.

We had an absolutely incredible time with Alessandro! We booked the tour the evening before, and he reached out right away to coordinate pick-up right from our hotel. Alessandro is so knowledgable about Etna and volcanos in-general, and you can really tell how much he loves the subject matter and his job. If we ever return to the area, we will absolutely book another tour!

We had a 7.30am pick-up and drove directly to Etna, with Alessandro explaining all about volcanos and the formation of Sicily. He is very passionate and knowledgeable and we were very entertained. We stopped on the lower slopes to don helmets and head torches and explore the lava caves- incredible! We then bought ourselves a coffee and croissant as we were hungry and then had a 1.5 hour walk up the volcano, with further information and Alessandro’s personal videos of previous eruptions- and an incredible vew all the way to Syracuse. When we came down to the shop below, we were offered a taste of local drinks and Alessandro got us an arancini and we headed down to a local winery. There we had a brief stroll through the vineyard and learned the history of wines from the Etna DOC area, alongside two tastings.
We had a great time with Alessandro, I can imagine he will adapt the tour according to the time it’s starts and the weather and the fitness levels of the clients. We were very lucky to have a clear but windy day, not too hot! Bring decent walking shoes and layers, 2.5km up a volcano can have very different weather to the coast.

Alessandro knows the area, but even more so, the mountain (ie volcano). We started with a lovely wine tasting at a beautiful family winery with the cutest little dog and very unique wines. Then, onto the mountain. A time to move our bodies, learn about the rock formations and types of volcanoes, and get up into the clouds. I won’t divulge the surprise last stop, but will say, it was amazing and so true to the culture!!!! And you can follow him on Instagram for amazing, amazing videos of volcanic eruptions.
