Learn to surf at one of California’s most famous spots during this introductory surfing class at Venice Beach. This class is suitable for all levels, whether it's your first time surfing or you are advancing your skills. Spend some time training on the beach, then hop in the Pacific Ocean for instruction in the water, followed by time for practice.

Absolutely wonderful group of instructors! They were so friendly and informative. Jackson was our main instructor and he was truly wonderful. My daughter and I had never been surfing and because of this experience I can’t wait to go again. I would highly recommend this amazing experience!

Absolutely wonderful group of instructors! They were so friendly and informative. Jackson was our main instructor and he was truly wonderful. My daughter and I had never been surfing and because of this experience I can’t wait to go again. I would highly recommend this amazing experience!

They started late and finished early. Closer to one and a half hours. Instructor barely got in the water. Was mostly watching from afar.

Very good lesson for a beginner. It was my first time. 20 mins learning on the beach and then into the water. The teacher was really nice but a little harsh on me, I would prefer he was a bit more encouraging. Otherwise a really amazing experience.

The instructor was well experienced and helpful. The two hours went by in a flash it seems. Do make sure you're in good physical shape. Swimming back out after each try takes effort. It was a good experience overall and I got one or two almost good rides in.

It was a great experience. The first 20/30 minutes the teacher explained us the basics about surf like how we have to stay, the movements , … We spend the rest of the two hours in the sea, trying to stay over the board, having a lot of fun. The teacher was incredibly nice, explaining all as best as he could.

Francisco is a great couch and very passionate and inspiring. The course is 2 hours long and we got practice at the land first before go into water, and it was super fun to practice surfing in the water

John was a great instructor. The weather was rather cold and wet, so he gave us two wet suits each to keep us as warm as possible. Easy meeting spot. Great fun!

The initial information was good, but one teacher was quite unprofessional, and decided to flirt with someone for the whole session, leaving the other teacher to take care of the other 7 people alone.
We barely got any time with an instructor because of that.
We all saw the instructor exchanging number with the person at the end, it was uncomfortable.

Fun instructors, very chill, best jokes, best rock-skipping technique (& low-key competition), showed us multiple ways and options to get on the surfboard and stay on for waves, kept us safe in the water, and all around made sure it was a great time on the beach surfing! The cool instructors also wear really cool surfing hats -- now I want one! And mineral reef-safe sunscreens for the win!! 10/10 A++ would book and do again!

This was a really great experience for my daughters 21 & 16.
The instructor was thorough, and fun. After only a 20 minute lesson the girls were in the water & did actually stand up on their boards several times and even rode a wave or 2!
Much more than I expected!
I would definitely say that being in shape helps. They are both very athletic & after only 1 hour in the water they were spent.
Totally worth the money. If we had done this toward the beginning of our vacation we would have definitely booked it 1 or 2 more times.
Don’t forget the sunscreen & water bottles to stay hydrated!
