Excellent combination of food and history in an amazing historic area of Richmond. Our guide was a great conversationalist and knew his stuff! Very engaging and informative and the food was amazing! Chimbo’s Tuscan Chicken sandwich was such a unique and tasty stop. Of the course the Proper Pie was an amazing one-of-a-kind in Richmond.

Expect good local foods mixed with just the right amount of neighborhood knowledge and history. There is a good deal of walking on uneven sidewalks. Be sure to come hungry as there was a lot of food.

An adequate food tour

I have gone on several food tours and this one I would rate in the middle of the pack. Food was basically good. the taco was the best item we had, the New Zealand proper pie was fun to try because I never had one before. The pizza was mediocre, and it would have been nice to have an alternative to the wine tasting for people who don’t drink alcohol. Historical content was on the slim side

Dilwyn gave the Church Hill Food tour by Viator. He was a nice person and knowledgeable. The human customer service on the phone, the pace of the tour, the coordination with the restaurants, and the overall curation of the event was professional. I gave (3.5 to) 4 stars because even though it's the going rate, I think it is very pricey for the type of food and the actual time given. Dilwyn and the partnering restaurants did their best and should not be asked to do or give more. The problem is Viator's cut in this is way too high in my opinion.

Kelsey was a great tour guide and super friendly! We made six stops total, with four being food (dessert included) and the other two being coffee and wine. Just moved to the area and this was a great way to explore Richmond by foot. I’ll definitely be doing more in the future!

The tour was excellent! Our tour guide Lindsay was personable, knowledgeable, and fun! The food (Ethiopian Injera-photo, New Zealand hand pies-photo, Tacos and Jalapeño mac-n-cheese, wine, and ice cream was amazing). I highly recommend this tour. The neighborhood was also beautiful.

Visiting all the wonderful restaurants in the area was such a treat. Learning about the history was so interesting and fun. The Church Hill area of Richmond is rich with history and wonderful eateries and a fabulous wine shop. We enjoyed every minute of the tour. Benedict our tour guide was a gem.

My kids & I loved the Nile, their Ethiopian food was the best we’d ever had! The chef told us the recipes were curated by his mom. Each selection we tried was delicious & vegan. The chocolate croissants from Sub Rosa Bakery were sooo good; the owner showed us the ovens they use and explained the process they use. Our guide was amazing & we’ve already booked our next trip!

I have been on several culinary tours and this was one of the best! Our guide, Olivia, was very knowledgeable about the Churchill neighborhood. She knew her history and brought it to life with her passion. The eateries on this tour were small, family-type venues that showcased the flavor of the neighborhood. I heartly recommend this tour. Ask for Olivia and you won't be disappointed!

It was very expensive for a 2 hour food tour that had 5 stops...all but one were stand outside stops. The final stop for a wine tasting where we tried 2 wines. The pour for the red wine was so embarrassingly minimal.... We have been to MANY wine tastings in Napa and Europe and there is always much more information offered as well as many more wines offered. Usually the tasting fee is waived if you purchase wine and I know that there were a number of us that purchased wine.
