How to explore the city at your own pace.

Kevin_L, Oct 2025
A brilliant way to see Reyjkavik and to learn about the city/country. Excellent value for money. The GPS navigation worked fairly well.

Great Self- Guided tour

Linda_R, Sep 2025
This was a very well done self guided tour and cheap - we were able to follow the route on the map to each location. We walked through all of Reykjavik

Nice overview of Center City/Old Town

Robin_H, Sep 2025
Audio was well paced and easy to follow through the Old Town and Center City area of Reykjavik. It was a great weay to get oriented on my second day in Iceland.

This is one of the worst user friendly attempts we made in the last two weeks with a tour

Richard_P, Aug 2025
Four of us could not figure out how to download the app that needed to be downloaded and then once we got it downloaded, we can not figure out how to get it to work out in the city without good Internet maybe with good Internet it would work easier, but we should’ve been warned about that in advance And when we wrote a message to them, they did not even respond so we were out $45. Not a big deal, but it was very annoying to say the least.

Hi there, I'm sorry that you were unhappy with your experience. We recommend downloading your tour using a wifi connection, it shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes. We're aware of your refund request, please respond to the email we sent or follow up via support@voicemap.me so that it can get resolved. Best, Helene

Extremely easy to use...

John_K, Jul 2025
Extremely easy to use with your phone. No need to do anything but listen to the audio and take pictures. It guides you the whole way. And even though we arrived in Iceland a day later than expected, we were able to use it when we got here.

Haven’t used

Anna_K, Oct 2024
Disappointed that I couldn’t use it as you have to follow exactly route and share your location at all times. I was under impression that you can just listen to the appropriate parts once you’re there, no matter the order. So haven’t used this audio tour, and probably won’t use any audio tours ever again after this experience.. definitely should’ve go for a walking tour

If ever you wanted to stop, or go off track, you could pause the tour and return to it again once you're ready. I'm sorry for your frustrating experience. Regards, Helene

Seeing Reykjavík

Amy_L, Jun 2024
I really enjoyed learning about the city and seeing parts of the city that I would have never been to otherwise. This was a great app!

Not impressed

Arielle_L, Apr 2024
Didn’t share much information about the city or the sites. Could have learned all the same content from reading the signs.

Response from Host, Apr 2024

Hi there. I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy this tour, which is a highly-rated tour that has gathered numerous positive reviews since it was published. The tour is intended to be immersive and help you learn more about Reykjavik as you follow the route. The information itself may well be available in other places, but the effortless, immersive experience of a self-guided tour, narrated by someone passionate about the city, is what most customers enjoy about this tour. I'm sorry that your experience didn't meet your expectations.

Informative and easy to follow.

Claire_P, Aug 2023
This guide was great! Easy to follow, clear instructions and a good level of information and interest. We saw a lot of the city, learned about what we were looking at and really enjoyed it. It took us about 3 hours, walking, stopping to look and listen, stopping for a coffee in a recommended café and enjoying going round at our own pace.

This was horrible. I...

Dustie_G, Nov 2021
This was horrible. I thought it would be a great way to see the sights, but it turned out to be useless. You have to find the first stop on your own--no problem. Then the tour starts and the audio kicks in whenever it senses (via GPS) you reach the next point. Except...you can't see the next point. After stop #2 on the tour, the narrator said to cross the street and walk until you reach the ocean. Easy enough. Until I walked three blocks and was notified that I must be lost. I tried to zoom out on the in-app map to see the route, but the map wouldn't hold the zoom and just instantly recentered on my current location. I ended up giving up and just walking around on my own. Absolutely useless and a waste of $7.

Intéressant et a son rythme

Manon_R, Jan 2024
Parfait quand on veut apprendre des choses a son rythme, plutôt immersif, j'ai bien aimé, je pense que je ferai ça pour tous mes prochains voyages en solitaire.
