This was our second self guided driving tour and it was great. It’s a lot of fun to listen to the history of the island as you drive through and get the opportunity to stop and experience the landscape. We really enjoyed being able to stay in our own vehicle and stop as we wanted to without being on a bus tour.

Don’t worry about being at exact starting spot. Listen to the intro dentin - 5 of them before your trip. Get familiar with how app works in your car. Might need to have phone open and the video in car. Once you get used to how app works - it is great! Highly recommend

Brilliant app to get you round the Golden Circle. Saw all of the major sites, learned a lot and was easy to use. Took a little while to get used to it moving from the map to a story but once you stopped panicking it worked really well. Did have a bit of a mare with Spotify interrupting it randomly but once we disconnected it from the car's system it was fine.

We really enjoyed the driving tour and being able to go at our own pace rather than being trapped on a large excursion. The driving instructions were perfects, the Golden Circle had so many interesting stops and the information shared on the tour was interesting and enjoyable for all. It never worked. No wifi. Put it on the setting that explains what to do if no WiFi. It was extremely frustrating and a total waste of money.

The idea of this is good, but there were way too many stories (that all sounded the same) rather than commentary of what we were seeing. It would be nice if information was provided about where we currently were.
It took a bit to get used to the navigation but that worked after we figured it out.

Loved the stories while traveling the Golden Circle. Learned about history, geology and folklore. Narrator was very good. A few snags when the app stopped and it had to be restarted, hence the 4 stars instead of 5 stars. Definitely worth it

Easy to use and great for self driving at your own pace. No technical issues. Downloaded and plugged into car play. Screen doesn’t sinc but the sound and instruction is clear and timely. Great tool!!!

This self guided tour was perfect! We love guided tours but dislike the large crowded buses. This was perfect! We rented a car and made all the stops, including Fridheimar. Lunch was so yummy! The tales given on the tour were funny as well. I highly recommend getting this tour for an individualized tour experience.

The audio tour is nice enough and has a few interesting bits, and we liked the way it started automatically so you could concentrate on driving. That must be really useful if you're travelling alone.
BUT the narrator sounded like he was reading it for the first time, with a lot of mispronunciations and some sentences being really hard to understand because of the way he put the emphasis. The info was pitched at a pretty basic level (maybe aimed at children?) and I knew some of the dates were wrong from having glanced at Wikipedia the day before. If the only thing you know about Norse gods is from Marvel movies, this is for you. Otherwise, probably not.
There's nothing on it that you wouldn't know from a really basic guidebook or website. The Golden Circle is well enough known for you to be able to plot your own route between the main points.
It's definitely not worth the £34 we paid for it. Get a good guidebook for a fraction of the price and listen to some atmospheric Icelandic music by Sigur Ros or Olafur Arnalds instead as you admire the landscape.

tour says 4-6 hours, That's really if you don't stop anywhere if you want to do hikes along the way or jump in a spring really plan for an 8 hour day! great tour! great value!

Was great to have a self driving tour and commentary! There was a lot about the history and current culture of Iceland. However, the app wasn't great with directions (apps like GPSy in the US have warnings well in advance and then tones when the turn has come up). We also couldn't turn up the sound enough on our rental car's terrible sound system.

This was the best $24 ever spent on travel. There were over 100 narrated stops all of which were activated by your physical location in regard to GPS. The app was easy to download and easy to use. The narration was extremely informative and interesting. We wished that there were more Iceland tours from this Guide.

After realising that it would not work until you were on the route covered by the app, it was easy to use and enjoyably informative. Much better way to explore the various sites in your own time by Hire car over a number ofdays to suit yourself. Good dialogue and highly recommended.

This was definitely worth the cost. You just have to be comfortable driving outside the US because of the different signage.
The tour needs a few tweaks, but we overall were glad to have purchased it over just driving to the different sites. We probably also preferred it over a bus tour since it gave us more flexibility (and a much much lower cost).
The app worked well and the tour itself worked well with the GPS. There were a couple of driving directions that were missing or miss-timed which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.
The tour will be best in the summer so that you have tons of daylight. Spring and fall will be better than winter, but will want to start your journey in the morning, but you don't have enough light. We did it in May and had enough light even into the late hours of the night. Dress warm and have waterproof shoes and a jacket available, especially for the waterfalls!
We skipped a few of the sites, and the tour still took us 8+ hours!
