Highly recommend. This was a very hassle free ride to the airport from the cruise terminal. The driver was 15 minutes early and easy to find at the extremely busy and confusing port. He sent me a picture of his car in Whatsapp, which made it easy for me to meet up with him. Excellent, clean car and great driver.

Don’t book this. Other operators had signs of who they were picking up. Nothing with this one. Couldn’t find him so had to pay a taxi to take us to the airport. Lots of taxis there so you’re better off doing that.

Our driver was waiting for you at the cruise port for over one hour and made more than ten attempts to reach you via phone calls, text messages, and email. In addition, our 24/7 support team also tried to contact you during that time, but unfortunately, we received no response. As clearly stated in our policy, the maximum waiting time is 60 minutes unless passengers proactively inform us of a delay or communicate with our driver/support team. Unfortunately, since we did not receive any communication from your side, the driver could not continue waiting indefinitely. The following day, you informed us by email that you were delayed due to Immigration control. While we understand that unexpected delays can happen, we kindly remind our valued customers that it is essential to answer our calls/messages or reach out to us immediately in such cases so we can assist you accordingly. Don't book anything with Hyper Taxi!! They try to get more money from you on the day of the ride. They sent me a text at 2am for a 7am pickup saying I booked the transfer from the cruise port to the international airport incorrectly and I needed to pay an additional 85 Euros. They recommended paying the driver directly instead of through Viator and it would only be 70 Euros extra and not 85 Euros. They are scammers trying to take advantage of tourists on their way to the airport. I reserved the transfer weeks in advance for my daughter and paid $120 for the private transfer to the international airport. My receipt and what I paid for was very clear. Nowhere did it say transfer to Reykjavik city center. My daughter had the receipt and all the info printed out and she refused to pay the extra money. The taxi driver argued with her and wasted 20 minutes trying to get her to pay more money. The driver ended up taking 2 other people from the cruise port to the airport. I don't know how much they charged them. So the transfer ended up not private and Hyper Taxi is still trying to get me to pay extra. Now they say I owe 50 Euros. My taxi from the cruise port to Reykjavik city center the same morning at the same time was $38. Not $120 like they were telling me I paid for the transfer to the city and not the international airport. I know there are 2 airports so I made sure it was clear which airport the transfer was going to. I would avoid this company unless you want to be pressured into paying more.

Your booking was for a transfer within the Reykjavik area, and this is clearly reflected in the reservation details. As soon as the issue was identified, we reached out to inform you — in advance — about the correction and the additional cost for airport transfer (which is a significantly longer and more expensive route, approximately 50 km away). We also offered a discounted adjustment if paid directly to the driver, as a gesture of flexibility. At no point was there any intention to mislead or pressure you. Our team followed standard protocol and communicated clearly and politely. Additionally, refusing to pay the correct fare while still expecting the full service — and then using a shared ride to the airport — is neither fair to our driver nor consistent with the terms of a private transfer. Your original booking and receipt did not match the actual service delivered, and our efforts to correct this in advance were entirely professional. Don’t hire through Viator

This company gets you to pay for one thing and then vendor tries to upsell you. Vendor threatens not to pick you up if you don’t pay the upscale. Ended up just getting a taxi after waiting in the rain for the driver not to show up. Not a reputable company. Very dishonest

Driver was on time and helped with the baggage. We arrived at the airport safely an on time. However, there is no quick way to contact the driver. Viator sent a confirmation. We also sent an email directly to the company to confirm the transfer and it took over 24 hours for them to respond. Also, if we had difficulties on the day, there is no way to contact the company or Viator quickly

Don't Trust Reykjavik Taxi Booking

While our driver, Abu, was excellent and personable, the taxi company (denoted as Hyper in my booking, but the card from the driver showed the company name as Hitch) was a real "Bait and Switch" operation. After booking with Viator and getting confirmation with specific pick up and drop off points for 100 euros, I got an email AFTER my card was charged 2 days prior to our pickup, that I would have to pay the driver an additional 65 euros! SHAME!
